Publisher: Annapurna Interactive / Developer: Buried Signal
Release Date: 14th Dec 2017 (USA) / 14th Dec 2017 (UK/EU)

50% off - was $14.99, now $7.49 until 27th Feb 2020

The Switch’s eShop is saturated with bucket loads of high-quality content. This is great in one way, of course, but stumbling across hidden gems within it will get tougher as time goes on. Gorogoa is one such gem; a puzzle game quite unlike any other that deserves your attention. It is a little on the short side, but the creativity that has been put into its design, and the effect it will have on you during your time exploring its gorgeous world, is something that you’ll want to experience. If you’re looking for something new to try, this would be an excellent choice.

Runbow (Switch eShop)

Runbow (Switch eShop)Runbow (Switch eShop)
Publisher: Headup Games / Developer: 13AM Games
Release Date: 3rd Jul 2018 (USA) / 3rd Jul 2018 (UK/EU)

80% off - was $14.99, now $2.99 until 1st Mar 2020

Runbow is a great example of a party game that can cater to solo and multiplayer preferences alike, and almost certainly deserves a cheeky purchase on Switch - certainly at this price! The gameplay is great fun, the presentation is to die for, and unlocking Nindie heroes through a really nicely put together adventure mode is the icing on the cake. We felt there was a little left to be desired with some elements of the multiplayer modes, and this might just make some think a little harder before jumping in, but we absolutely recommend giving this one a go if you’re interested regardless.

Gone Home (Switch eShop)

Gone Home (Switch eShop)Gone Home (Switch eShop)
Publisher: Annapurna Interactive / Developer: Annapurna Interactive
Release Date: 6th Sep 2018 (USA) / 6th Sep 2018 (UK/EU)

50% off - was $14.99, now $7.49 until 27th Feb 2020

Several years on, there’s no denying the cultural and developmental impact Gone Home has had on the game industry. Both as a near-perfect exercise in interactive storytelling and an example of how to handle complex and very real ideas in a game, only Life is Strange has ever come close to matching its significance. While there still isn’t much ‘game’ to be found here, the story you unravel through exploring an empty home will stay with you long after you’ve put down your Switch. Essential.

Forgotton Anne (Switch eShop)

Forgotton Anne (Switch eShop)Forgotton Anne (Switch eShop)

60% off - was $19.99, now $7.99 until 1st Mar 2020

Forgotton Anne is an evocative, artistic triumph that nails that feeling of a ‘living anime’. Sure, the puzzles are hardly mind-blowing, and some later sections may test your patience, but the beauty of the art and the gentle humour of the writing should carry you through these irritations. Animation buffs should dive in without reservation, and we’d recommend anyone with even the slightest interest check this out.

And with the growing trend of games plummeting to mere cents, here's our sub-$1 pick for a super cheap game that's worth the memory space it takes up on your Switch...
