Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th January)

Chlocean

I just finished Alien: Rogue Incursion, the first big-girl game I played on PSVR2, and I finally beat Arizona Sunshine which was a fun li'l arcadey romp in comparison. Next up, I think I'm going to do either REVillage or Madison VR. Kinda scared to try either one. Gonna need fresh britches on standby

Re: Wolfenstein 3 Is Reportedly "In The Works" At MachineGames

Chlocean

I loved the other Wolfenstein games!! The reboot came out a while before DOOM 2016 and that was the first time I remember thinking Boomer Shooters were making a comeback. It combined the things I loved about old school (fast movement, picking up lots of armor/health/unique weapons, one-liner-spoutin' protagonist) with the best things about current shooters (linear ongoing world without level breaks, lots of detail, cinematic cutscenes, crouch-cover, stealth options) I am so excited to play Indiana Jones and I'll gladly support anything this team puts their name behind.

Re: Random: Lego Fans Have Apparently Forgotten What Game Boy Cartridges Look Like

Chlocean

I noticed it hardddd and it stressed me outtt lol. As a kid I was always fidgeting with gameboy carts and I would kinda hold them and roll them in my hand, study the art and the build of the carts; even though we were in the PS2 generation when I was at that age, I feel like I know the GB era as if I lived through it... I just got my GB and SNES games from the pawn shop instead of the big box store.

Re: Opinion: I Reviewed 25 Switch 2 Games In 2025, And These Are My Top 3 Picks

@topher6490 That's so so valid. I was pleasantly surprised to see your comment end in a subversive way. I think of all the times people said "come on maybe you didn't like Dark Souls but Bloodborne is gonna be different" or "You don't like metroidvanias but Hollow Knight is gonna be different" only to boot em up and feel exactly the way I knew I'd feel at the boot. We don't have time nor the funds in life to play everything that's "must play." Go you.

Re: "A Knife Can Be Used For Cooking Or As A Weapon" - Level-5 Boss Defends GenAI In Game Development

Chlocean

This, I believe, is a more balanced take on AI... Nobody gets their artwork stolen, no artists are out of jobs, there may be less stress and crunch imposed on the people who make the games we love, and hey, I may be getting greedy, but if it means we can feasibly get another 3 Professor Layton games this generation, like on DS and 3DS, it will make me one very happy cookie.

Re: Mini Review: Layers Of Fear: Final Masterpiece Edition (Switch 2) - Handsome But Humdrum Horror

Chlocean

Layers of Fear Remake was one of the first games I played on PS5 and it looked awesome, but I'd already played the original and the VR version of the painter's story, so it felt very much like "why am I replaying this?" I think if y'all want to experience this haunted house simulator in its best environment, play it in VR as the idea of jumpscares happening directly to YOU is a decent replacement for a sense of danger to the protagonist. There are some points I was cowering in fear or walking slowly to avoid falling from a large height. Instead of hp damage, you are threatened with psychological damage.
(In before someone comes here to say this game "is not my cup of tea" 😉)
