Re: Rocket League Announces "New Era" Alongside Unreal Engine 6 Reveal

Chlocean

@beltmenot You're right. Early 2022 it was released, but I wonder if UE6 is meant to fix the UE5 stutter that always happens when loading new areas, and the other multitude of issues (which, I'll be honest, I know exist but am kinda blanking on rn). I kinda figured UE5 would be the WiiU of the game engine world.

@OrangeSoda i was thinking the same thing. Maybe we can make animals gobble up food? I'd love to see my cats take on microgames
Edit: Wait, isn't Intelligent Systems also the Rhythm Heaven developer? I wonder if RH was done for quite a while, or if they were developing both games in tandem

Re: The World Is In Such A Mess, Investors Actually Want Nintendo To Raise The Price Of The Switch 2

Chlocean

It would be such a power move to be the only company NOT to raise the price of their flagship console. Think about it, people complained about the S2 price upon reveal, what if they already priced it up to account for the oncoming storm, and after this year going forward this gen, Nintendo's is seen as the budget console once again. The general public's goodwill is mostly restored, Nintendo makes a crap-ton of sales, Switch 2 is once again the console parents look at during the holidays and say "yeah, let's go with that one."
When everyone is expecting the price increase, wouldn't it just be the most Nintendo thing to NOT?

Re: UK Charts: Tomodachi Life Beats Saros To Reclaim Number One

Chlocean

It's word of mouth, I bet. My bestie saw me make them in Tomodachi Life, then our entire hangout was just passing the console left and right while watching a movie, they were like "I wanna get a Switch 2 for this" and I told 'em "you can get it on your Switch 1". Next day, they showed me all the Miis they were making

@Itsashame I mean, I understand that. It's just such a sad way to live that a number on a webpage can completely tarnish one's experience of a game. Imagine how many people could go in almost blind to a game and love it, if it were in a vacuum. I think the whole number system is broken anyway but that's beating a cremated horse at this point

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For 007: First Light

It isn't all doom and gloom, tbh. I'm almost 30; the the hype cycles don't interest me and I'll pick up the game because I'm a Bond fan, and I'm gonna have a solid time. NakeyJakey's video on this game (on his channel Ball Creative) seems reasonably promising with a few tiny quirks that don't seem like they'll get in the way of the rollercoaster ride, I've heard enough to know this game's for me, whether at launch or on sale later on.

@Styledvinny79 7 or 8 is a really solid score though? Am I missing something?
8 is only 2 points away from perfection, is that right? I could lose two points by skipping breakfast I don't think a 7-8 constitutes "not good"

I think if you want to panic I would go for like, a 5 or 6 but that just means the game is average. I'm just being realistic because IO is a competent studio. We ain't lookin' at a 2 or 3.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Switch 2)

I'm gonna do some research after this, I'm just curious about that bit where it says Indy follows your movements well unless you're using motion controls? Does the game break a bit when using gyro?
Edit: okay I'm back after research. The problem lies with having to physically shake your controller to crack your whip. Because Gyro is on, the motion typically makes you lose your target. Hope there is a way to enable gyro ONLY.

Re: Surprise! Alien: Rogue Incursion Has Shadow-Dropped On Switch 2

@Bizzyb I can't really say with any confidence; the VR version was incredible because it was in VR, There's one section I thought was fun in the way other games are fun, the rest of it was fun because it was a survival horror game in VR. The gameplay feels similar to Resident Evil; you have to scavenge for resources and hold out until you reach a safe room, and there are moments where hordes of enemies are coming from the vents and you have to hunker down and set mines in smart places. I remember it fondly but I can't tell you how fondly I would remember these moments in a 2D realm.

Re: Mini Review: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition (Switch 2) - A Survival Horror Masterclass, Free From Cloud Prison

Chlocean

@ninty_junkie77 No, Virtual Boy can only split the screen into two (for 3d) with select games, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard does not do this. You'd only see one half of the screen in one eye and the other half in the other. It'd be a pretty funny way to try and play the game (close one eye to see the left side, close the other eye to see the right) but it may cause eye strain haha

Re: Feature: "Stop Tagging Us About Bubsy!" - Fabraz On Being Bullied Into Reviving A Maligned Mascot

Chlocean

Yeesh, there's a lot of distaste for this project here. I'll throw in some love. I played Demon Turf last year, so when I saw Kyle Bosman introducing the Bubsy 4D trailer, I knew seeing Fabraz's name was a pop-off moment. It's not just a new Bubsy game, it's a new Fabraz game and that is something to relish. Very excited to get around to playing both Demon Tides and Bubsy 4D.
