Ah yes, The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, not to be confused with The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game for the Nintendo DS family of systems.
So... fair to say it's peobably getting a sequel. It would make money and they're discussing wanting it publicly. I can't see a reality in which Capcom turns down a new successful IP.
I loved Rugrats in Paris on N64 if only for its oddly haunting vibes, and I kinda always meant to check out the other 3D platformer. This might be the package for me. Hoping I can go physical.
@beltmenot You're right. Early 2022 it was released, but I wonder if UE6 is meant to fix the UE5 stutter that always happens when loading new areas, and the other multitude of issues (which, I'll be honest, I know exist but am kinda blanking on rn). I kinda figured UE5 would be the WiiU of the game engine world.
@OrangeSoda i was thinking the same thing. Maybe we can make animals gobble up food? I'd love to see my cats take on microgames
Edit: Wait, isn't Intelligent Systems also the Rhythm Heaven developer? I wonder if RH was done for quite a while, or if they were developing both games in tandem
Wow, it's working on Switch 2. I was just wondering when this would happen. Get ready for random stutters and frame drops. Still, I'd rather have it than not. I just wish more companies used their own proprietary engine, like Decima for Death Stranding/Horizon.
I've had the chance to buy this on PS5 but when I heard it may come to S2 I held out. Used copies have only gone down to like 30 bucks, so it's still very viable to release this at $40-$50 on S2.
What a sendoff though, Switch 1 gets 2 of my favorite franchises this year. Wonder if there will be any more 1st party games or if Rhythm Heaven will be the swan song.
Also, I'm so grateful this game has become a huge meme bc I didn't want this to be the last of this franchise we see. Let's see that Miitopia sequel, and please keep the silly voices this time
I just finished Elite, and I don't know if I can go back to looking at jpegs. These characters exist in my head in an animated sense, and I don't think I'll experience the story any other way. Purists might scoff at me for this. I liked my experience of Elite quite a bit.
It would be such a power move to be the only company NOT to raise the price of their flagship console. Think about it, people complained about the S2 price upon reveal, what if they already priced it up to account for the oncoming storm, and after this year going forward this gen, Nintendo's is seen as the budget console once again. The general public's goodwill is mostly restored, Nintendo makes a crap-ton of sales, Switch 2 is once again the console parents look at during the holidays and say "yeah, let's go with that one." When everyone is expecting the price increase, wouldn't it just be the most Nintendo thing to NOT?
Did we need another game like this? I mean I always loved stories about getting small but why's it gotta be survival? I understamd the logistics, but selfishly, I ask because that's like my least favorite genre.
It's word of mouth, I bet. My bestie saw me make them in Tomodachi Life, then our entire hangout was just passing the console left and right while watching a movie, they were like "I wanna get a Switch 2 for this" and I told 'em "you can get it on your Switch 1". Next day, they showed me all the Miis they were making
@Itsashame I mean, I understand that. It's just such a sad way to live that a number on a webpage can completely tarnish one's experience of a game. Imagine how many people could go in almost blind to a game and love it, if it were in a vacuum. I think the whole number system is broken anyway but that's beating a cremated horse at this point
It isn't all doom and gloom, tbh. I'm almost 30; the the hype cycles don't interest me and I'll pick up the game because I'm a Bond fan, and I'm gonna have a solid time. NakeyJakey's video on this game (on his channel Ball Creative) seems reasonably promising with a few tiny quirks that don't seem like they'll get in the way of the rollercoaster ride, I've heard enough to know this game's for me, whether at launch or on sale later on.
@Styledvinny79 7 or 8 is a really solid score though? Am I missing something?
8 is only 2 points away from perfection, is that right? I could lose two points by skipping breakfast I don't think a 7-8 constitutes "not good"
I think if you want to panic I would go for like, a 5 or 6 but that just means the game is average. I'm just being realistic because IO is a competent studio. We ain't lookin' at a 2 or 3.
I'm gonna do some research after this, I'm just curious about that bit where it says Indy follows your movements well unless you're using motion controls? Does the game break a bit when using gyro?
Edit: okay I'm back after research. The problem lies with having to physically shake your controller to crack your whip. Because Gyro is on, the motion typically makes you lose your target. Hope there is a way to enable gyro ONLY.
One of my favorite phrases I've added to island lingo is "a really effed up youtube video" It's super funny to imagine my miis pining over finding their perfect shock content.
In what world can you fit a Switch 2 in your pocket?? Are we dealing with the Jolly Green Giant? Is the Jolly Green Giant a gamer?
(Jokes aside-loved the interview)
Oh you KNOW I'm getting this so I can finally complete Rugrats in Paris! The N64 version was a constant in my childhood and I always dreamed of finishing it. The mini golf was great and the bumper car levels always creeped me out.
A decent amount of games going for these lower prices. The way I see it, they're basically giving us money back for the extra tenner on Mario Kart. Girl math.
@Bizzyb I can't really say with any confidence; the VR version was incredible because it was in VR, There's one section I thought was fun in the way other games are fun, the rest of it was fun because it was a survival horror game in VR. The gameplay feels similar to Resident Evil; you have to scavenge for resources and hold out until you reach a safe room, and there are moments where hordes of enemies are coming from the vents and you have to hunker down and set mines in smart places. I remember it fondly but I can't tell you how fondly I would remember these moments in a 2D realm.
People really let arbitrary numbers mean so much to them. Is 7/10 supposed to be a poor score though? As far as I'm aware 7/10 is pretty close to 10 and more than 5/10 which is average.
Cover art looks incredible, but while I enjoyed my time with them these are games I am very happy playing just once. I hope everyone else has fun tho, the true game cart is a boon.
@ninty_junkie77 No, Virtual Boy can only split the screen into two (for 3d) with select games, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard does not do this. You'd only see one half of the screen in one eye and the other half in the other. It'd be a pretty funny way to try and play the game (close one eye to see the left side, close the other eye to see the right) but it may cause eye strain haha
@Dom_31 I loved Ni No Kuni 1 and I couldn't even bring myself to finish the second game. I'm curious what the cash grab part was, because it might help explain why I hated the game so much. Were there a ton of microtransactions or something?
The soundtrack was incredibly inspired. It's too bad he felt the need to put himself into such stress while already needing rest, but he did incredible work. I noticed the motif from the first movie came back, and it's more noticable now we don't have Toto Africa or Don't Stop Believin' playing every 5 minutes.
Yeesh, there's a lot of distaste for this project here. I'll throw in some love. I played Demon Turf last year, so when I saw Kyle Bosman introducing the Bubsy 4D trailer, I knew seeing Fabraz's name was a pop-off moment. It's not just a new Bubsy game, it's a new Fabraz game and that is something to relish. Very excited to get around to playing both Demon Tides and Bubsy 4D.
