Lowkey looks like some of the most inventive stuff is coming out recently. AAA gaming may be kinda stagnating for the most part but gaming is not dying, not by a longshot.
I remember when THPS3 was released, I was so pumped to see a new N64 game available to rent in our video store. Needless to say, we got a lot out of that game and it's become a huge part of my childhood. This announcement is so flipping exciting for me.
@X68000 Woah! I guess i had falsified a memory of Nintendo Power saying it was a HAL product when they were probably just (rightfully) comparing the two. Thanks for the info
Woah, I randomly decided to play all three of their Switch games recently and I just finished Afterparty & Oxenfree 1 so this is hitting me like, a lot right now. Very sad.
@roy130390 No yeah I loved the game on WiiU and I will confirm your suspicions-the open world is pretty bland, the side quests are nowhere near something like Witcher 3, and the few things there are to do in the world are pretty repetitive. That said, game's good but if this sways your decision, understandable
Not even a distant land We're stuck on a whole different planet No peace lookin' at the sky, trouble's always all around So we stay quick with the guns and cannons Standing as long as we can...
That's not good, and it's honestly crushing that a flop like this would affect those who had nothing to do with its conception and were only following orders. Let's lay off the upper staff, how about that?
Sounds cool to have this since it kinda took off, although I'm less excited for the influx of poorer live-service games on Switch. I'm excited for the live-service bubble to burst
Well, now I've gotta play System Shock 1 on PS5 and then move over to the Switch.... unless these guys have like, a come-to-jesus moment and decide to give us the first one too?
I'm going to echo the sentiments that Nintendogs would be perfect. I'm imagining something where the entirety of Pikmin Bloom could just be the "take your dog for a walk" section of the game, but it would also give you stuff to do when you're lounging at home. That'd solve my one problem with Bloom, in that there's not enough other content.
@Mando44646 kinda, but it can also describe quake-likes or duke-nukem-likes or half-life-1-likes, each of which play in slightly different ways so boomer shooter is just the umbrella term.
@JohnnyMind 100% this. Accessibility is key. I won't even start a game if I don't think I can finish it. Haven't had to use Celeste's options yet but if I do I know they're there which keeps me coming back.
I loved Snake Pass and it's gorgeous David Wise soundtrack. Just bopped to that Water World music earlier this week. Sad about any people affected, but glad they are being taken care of in some way post-departure.
Wow, the more I hear the more I think it may be a good thing to settle on Switch; even if each feels like another iphone upgrade they can do things like this, which seem very un-Nintendo, just to improve the QOL.
Absolutely checking this gem out. It seems right up my alley, and definitely something I would have added to my wishlist back when discoverability was possible on the eShop.
@TYRANACLES I'm not certain but I had a dream where we had to platform everywhere like in Tomb Raider so be on the lookout for some office spaces with strange geometry 😉
I ain't even messing around. I had a dream two nights ago that I was buying physical switch games, I was most excited to bring home Sims 1 and 2 with all expansions for Switch. If it comes to the console, they will LITERALLY be making my dream come true.
My roommate and I are currently playing co-op in this game so we'll have to see if this gets patched by the time we get there. Otherwise, we may have to find a creative workaround using the offscreen player countdown thing.
I'm part of the issue because despite me buying physical games I almost exclusively purchase second-hand copies from eBay. Way cheaper but I'm not able to support the developers directly.
I guess I don't do play a lot of games with sidequests and even then I don't do a lot of sidequests. However my favorite might have to be the Scientology sidequest in GTA5. Kifflom!
Shoutout to "Fear For The Children" in Ghostwire: Tokyo. Just played it and it turned the game horror for an hour or so. Love it.
@NeonPizza Don't forget Gyro! I was so used to Switch and PS5 I was (dual)shocked when I went to a friend's house to play Fortnite and their Xbox controller did not have Gyro! Like cmon Splatoon was like 10 years ago now.
@PinballBuzzbro I wanna chime in just to say that Kaze is good and Yooka Laylee: Impossible Lair is also an incredible DKC-like, made by the guys who helped make the SNES DKC games to boot.
@AussieMcBucket Right? One example is how people actually think we only use like 15% of our brain's power because Limitless and Lucy and other films all repeat this, but that's not true at all. That would be absolutely mindbending if we were all collectively believing something completely made up. I somehow doubt it in this case, as accessory designers always have access to intel we don't (there were third-party cases and grips for switch 1 on launch day) but still a cool thought experiment
I'm okay with NSO. Been emulating almost my entire internet life and I have no problems playing some classics on emu in the future. Only console that doesn't work so well for is 3DS, as I was one of 5 people who used 3D every time.

Re: Review: Sorry We're Closed (Switch) - An Ethereal, Colourful Survival Horror Like No Other
This game is going to be amazing. I'll gladly pay the asking price considering we get so many top-tier games for far less than AAA prices.
Re: Analyst Fears U.S. Tariffs Could Spell Disaster For Physical Games
It's the same story as ever; paper voting for the shredder.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Removal Of Switch Online SNES Classic
It's the reason I've got an emulation handheld, the SNES online games are just bonuses, not essential.
Re: Round Up: Every Switch Game Featured At Xbox's Indie Showcase (February 2025)
Pon's Summer is right up my alley. I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Re: Round Up: Every Switch Game Featured At Xbox's Indie Showcase (February 2025)
@DemonKow I wish, I miss Daft Punk...
But it's okay because I heard beabadoobee is doing the sound track for the new TRON.

Re: Atari And Choice Provisions' New Take On 'Breakout' Gets March Release Date
Ooohhh, CO-OP? You got my attention now. I'm all about trippy new takes on old ideas, like Polybius or Tetris Effect.

Re: Anniversary: HAL Laboratory Is 45 Years Old Today
@gb_nes_gamer hopefully not EXACTLY the same visuals as Resident Evil Remake, right? A photorealistic Lucas feels a little uncanny at this point.

Weird, I randomly decided to play the Starfy trilogy on NSOnline recently. They're unsurprisingly quality. Happy Bday, HAL.

Anyone who comments here and doesn't specify which game they're talking about, I'm just going to assume they're talking about Steel Diver.
Re: Critically Acclaimed Survival Horror 'Sorry We're Closed' Comes To Switch Next Month
Yesss!! This was on someone's list of best horror games of 2024. It has echoes of Killer7. Sooo glad I'll get a chance to play it!

So it's like the Solid State External HD of the Switch 2, sounds like the first thing I'll be getting for the new console. Awesome.
Re: Xbox Is "Really Looking Forward" To Supporting Switch 2
This is an Xbox too? Woa they're really just done making Xboxes after this gen aren't they. They're leaning into being the Netflix of games.
Re: Team Cherry Reconfirms Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Actually Real In Small Development Update
