Re: More Switch 2 Estimated File Sizes Seemingly Revealed

Chlocean

Split Fiction is crazy large which is no surprise given how much space It Takes Two is eating up on my PS5. I feel like I only play one massive game at a time though and a lot of indies/older games in between so I'm not worried I'll have a ton of issues, but let's hope micro sd express cards expand and drop in price as fast as their predecessor.

Re: Opinion: It's Time To Get Rid Of Fall Damage

Chlocean

I am so happy one person isn't in charge of all games. I've been playing vast amounts of games these past 2 years and my favorite thing is going into each new game wondering how different it will feel to control. Sometimes having fall damage is a big factor in tension for certain situations. sometimes it's fun to not have it as well.

Re: Physical 'Switch 2 Editions' Confirmed To Have Everything On The Game Card, Says Nintendo

Chlocean

The backlash to game key cards I feel are a result of Nintendo gamers being mostly lucky to usually have the full game on the cart, while Playstation users have had to deal with discs forcing downloads for three generations now. I still remember the backlash when Metal Gear Solid 4 or GTA5 required a hefty download on PS3, and unfortunately now almost every PS5 game acts like a game key card. It's just the other companies were not super transparent about it so it kinda got swept under the rug.

Re: Marathon Isn't Currently Planned For Switch 2, Unsurprisingly

Chlocean

@RogerFederer Agreed, it looks pretty gorgeous. The art style looks a bit like a Suda51 influence, and character models look like they'd be more distinct (esp when viewed at a distance) than something like Concord.
They may have come pretty late to the hero shooter genre, but we'll see.

Re: The Switch 2 Won't Have Achievements Or eShop Music

Chlocean

I'm happy there are no achievements, as my favorite part about playing on Switch is not having to worry how I'm playing or what difficulty I'm on, if I qualify for certain achievements, etc. My goal is hyper-focused on seeing the credits. I'm okay with this but I know other people like them. I'm being a tad selfish with this preference.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Cross-Progression Confirmed, Performance & Resolution Detailed

@Pat_trick How long have you been following Nintendo? If you've time traveled from 2001, I'm really sorry to tell you they aren't necessarily chasing performance anymore. Especially with these handhelds that happen to be a flagship console. Chin up, this one isn't going to get "Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop"-level downgrades.
And since gaming is a hobby and not a necessity, it's always an option to skip. Vote with your wallet. You don't like it, don't buy it. Just know if it matched up with the PS5 we'd probably be paying something more like $700 (I don't like that reality but we're living in a h*llscape and companies don't like losing money.)

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Cross-Progression Confirmed, Performance & Resolution Detailed

@Pat_trick anyone who expects or even cares for a handheld console to match up to a home console twelve times its size and at similar price points probably isn't in the target demographic for a traditional handheld console anyway. You're gonna have to pay quite a lot more for a handheld PC matching the PS5, if that's what you care about. No shade, I genuinely think you should pay more and get what you want but that's not what everyone cares about.

Re: Opinion: Oh No, I'm Not A Fan Of Switch 2's Mouse Mode At All

Chlocean

Oh my god yall the human brain just melts down the moment we start attaching labels to things. Hot dogs qualify as sandwiches but if I pay for a sandwich and you hand me a hot dog, I'll be pretty sad. If your friend says "let's play an FPS" and you pull out Metroid Prime Hunters and a couple of DSes they may look at you funny, but it's still technically what they asked for. There's a lot more nuance to what things are that these labels are not really concrete enough to have semantic debates over. I believe Metroid Prime is an FPS, Action-Adventure, and Platformer. I believe Dead Space is a TPS, and Horror game. I believe someone who plays Wii Fit every day is a gamer. If you don't believe in those labels, totally chill. As long as your use of labels doesn't hurt other people, use context clues. Feel free to call your hot dog a sandwich, while understanding that if someone says "I want a sandwich," they're probably picturing something on square bread with condiments, greens and a protein.

Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)

Chlocean

Yep, I have PS5 but this confirms to me that we've reached a plateau in terms of what more power will do. Ray tracing is super cool and Ryu's facial hair is tinier, but I don't see a reality in which games "just can't be done" on Switch 2 in the coming years, and I don't see me really holding off on Switch 2 versions to get a more immersive, more playable experience on PS5 anymore. This is exciting, though perhaps if I find games far cheaper on PS5 that may be the deciding factor.

Re: Community: Which Switch 2 Games Are You Wishlisting?

Chlocean

@Gryffin I saw gameplay of Cyberpunk/Hogwarts from the event and as I'm currently playing Hogwarts on Switch 1, you could have told me those were the PS5 games and maybe the only way I'd be able to tell otherwise would be characters' hair and beards. Peeformance was solid and one of CP2077's modes locks it at 40fps. Take that how you will, though if you play games mostly docked I'd also definitely go for PS5. No reason to miss out on the ray tracing and advanced hair physics if you don't have to.

Re: Community: Which Switch 2 Games Are You Wishlisting?

Chlocean

I have a huge backlog of games on Switch I'm working on, all I truly want for Switch 2 games is Mary Car World and Cyborg Gunk 2017. Haven't played my copy of Tears yet so probably finally dip into that with the NSO upgrade, then wait like 2 years for all the big third parties to go on sale.

Re: Elden Ring Coming To Switch 2

Chlocean

This is probably the biggest headline bombshell for the wider gaming audience. I think this has more potential to standout than Cyberpunk 2077 on S2 for most of the gaming population.
