Re: New Nintendo Patent Seems To Confirm Mouse Functionality For Switch 2

Zyph

I hope eventually Nintendo release a ergonomic grip accessory for mouse mode to prevent cramps. I someone on reddit tried to 3D print one. The practical use though is another matter especially if games require you to switch between modes (for whatever reason), you would need to remove the accessory every time. I still want one though 😂

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Digital File Size Seemingly Reduced

Zyph

I'm so excited to play this again! Especially the new content and the new Skell "Hraesvelg".

Though I'm conflicted whether I should play this at launch or wait to play it when I get my hands on a Switch 2. I have a feeling they'd add improvement patches on the system like better performance or textures. Either way it would be a joy to play the game on a bigger screen.

Re: Capcom Is Relying On Monster Hunter To Achieve Its FY2025 Financial Goals

Zyph

I love MH but Wilds is pretty underwhelming for me so far especially what I've experienced in the beta. The first time not being truly excited for a MonHun game. It's like a re-skinned MH World imo with over the top PC spec requirements. Hopefully things get more interesting for the game when it launches.

But hey it's Monster Hunter, of course it'll sell well.

Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 Announcement Reportedly Impacted Steam Deck Sales

Zyph

I've been wanting one so I could play my PC games otg but ever since they announced the announcement of the Switch 2 last year I'm holding out. I'll just wait for a gen 2 Steam Deck. Since Switch 2 is coming out there's no point getting a Steam Deck now so I'll just wait it out. Hopefully Valve announces something by next year.

Re: Random: Switch 2 Leakers Called Out By Industry Veteran Hideki Kamiya

Zyph

I'll just sit here eating popcorn while enjoying the comments and admiring the non-raytraced 10s Mario Kart teaser and Kamiya's awesome rant.

But seriously, do some people really expect everyone to be able to count every strand of Mario's mustache while riding a shiny ray-traced go-kart and driving on ray-traced puddles and could count every dust particle that the exhaust is spewing out?

Re: Nintendo Music Will Add More Tracks Over Time, Here's What's Been Revealed So Far

Zyph

I'm hoping they add Xenoblade music even though we already have those on Spotify and Apple Music (at least most of them). Smash Bros Ultimate would be super cool as well.

For Pokemon I hope they add DP, XY, and SwSh soon since those are my favorite gens. I need my Cynthia theme fix so bad 😂

My wish though in the long run is they partner with 3rd parties as well. I desperately need SMT and Tokyo Mirage Sessions on this service! TMS is half Nintendo property!

Re: Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment

Zyph

If I remember correctly, when Iwata passed away, in one of the DICE events John Schappert handed a lifetime achievement award for him (I think Reggie received the award) and told an anecdote of him and Iwata to the crowd.

Shiver and Nintendo must've had a very good relationship.

@Liam_Doolan might be a good bit of info to include.

Re: New Sonic-Style Kickstarter Project 'Rollin' Rascal' Hits Switch Goal

Zyph

FYI for people who isn't aware yet, Curiomatic is the studio founded by Artsy Omni (Omni Jacala). The guy who did the infamous fake Smash leak render (I think it was Rayman) back in the Wii U/3DS days. He's done some cool things in his YT channel since. He's been trying to make a game for Switch like forever so I'm pretty happy for him tbh.

I think it's worth noting @Liam_Doolan

Re: Microsoft: ActiBlizz Acquisition Gives Xbox A Chance To Be A "Good Publisher" On All Platforms

Zyph

Time and time again Microsoft keeps saying all their acquisitions are for the benefit of the studios and the players. Nope. Uhh yeah whatever you say bud. "We love gaming" — pfft lol because you make money from it.

Based on all the leaked info and emails, they just care about their bottom line. With all that money buying out the competition is a cake walk. Consolidation is just monopolization in disguise. I love my Xbox but in reality the brand is just a money making pillar for Microsoft. No more, no less.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Nominated For Another 'Game Of The Year' Award

Zyph

@SuperBro64 Yeah. I think it's an inherent problem with Awards systems tbh. Just because theoretically Game A has more fans doesn't make Game B a lesser quality game. But since Game A has more fans therefore more potential votes, it wins. I agree, maybe 2 or 3 GOTY winners in a single award show could be a good sweet spot. Just enough to not say "every game is a GOTY game this year" 😂

@MontyCircus Oh I very much follow D.I.C.E. and the BAFTA Awards more since they actually acknowledge the entire production crew as far as I know. No ads or anything (I think there are but very minimal), just straight up awards and recognition

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Nominated For Another 'Game Of The Year' Award

Zyph

I'd rather follow these niche award shows than the Geoff Awards. lol

Not related too much but I still believe "Game of the Year" should be "Games of the Year". Crowning only one game would shadow other potential "GOTY" titles and the recognition they deserve. It wasn't TOTK's fault that the release year was the same with Baldur's Gate and others (though IMO both deserve the award). There are a lot of WHAT IFs in terms of what and when a game is released and not to mention different audiences and tastes to each of these titles. That said, I do understand the value of competing with other games in a particular release year. Just throwing it out there.

Grats to Tears of the Kingdom!

Re: Capcom Unveils Monster Hunter Wilds, Coming In 2025

Zyph

@Joeynator3000 There's no more A team and B team as far as I'm aware. It's either they release a game on Nintendo hardware or not. ditching the numbering scheme is also a clear indication. World proved it could thrive in Japan even on non-portables not to mention the existence of PC/steam portables.

Re: Feature: Why I Still Love My Wii U

Zyph

A very underrated piece of hardware. Nintendo might've failed to explain the thing and market it well in a clear and understandable way, but I completely understood their intentions with it and it's quirks. That's why enjoyed it for what it is and I don't regret buying one on launch day. There were loads of times where just using the GamePad was a game changer.

Playing XCX, WW HD, and Splatoon on it were a few of my best gaming experiences.

My only bad experience with it was the first unit I bought had a bad fan in it so it would constantly shutdown due to overheating. Good thing I got a good replacement the very next day.

Re: Sony Is Co-Financing Nintendo's Live-Action Zelda Movie

Zyph

At least Jim Ryan won't be involved to censor anything.
lol

Obviously, this is a totally different division of Sony. I highly doubt anyone at PlayStation is involved in any capacity. So the irony isn't really that ironic tbh but still pretty funny if you think about it.

Re: Latest Genki Kickstarter Offers New Portable Switch Dock, iPad Connectivity And More

Zyph

@Nua IMO it's not about Nintendo being compliant with USB-C standards. They had their own algorithms on power efficiency and power transferring between docked and handheld. That's also the reason why they certify certain power banks (like Anker's) because of the Switch's power draw requirements. Nintendo never intended for us to use 3rd party docks compliant or not. They wanted to control how the Switch draws and distribute power in both modes. Not defending them or anything like that. It's just how the Switch works.

Nyko, for what it's worth, just didn't do their research. Actually if it wasn't for them, Genki wouldn't have tried to get to the bottom of the "issue".
