Re: Monster Hunter Gearing Up For 20th Anniversary, New Artwork Revealed

Zyph

Capcom usually gets new hardware devkits early. So if they're planning on a new Monster Hunter game there's a chance it may come to the next Switch. Seeing that their A team and B team is non-existent at this point due to the fact even Rise got a PC/Xbox/PS treatment, I would guess they would produce the game for all possible platforms moving forward. And a handheld MonHun is big in Japan. There's still that chance since they usually announcement MonHun games a year or so earlier before release.

I would still temper my expectations though

Re: New Nintendo Joystick Patent Could Spell The End For Future Drift Issues

Zyph

@Kienda I would argue that the sticks (in the last 20 years or so) still had some form of drift regardless of brand. My PS360, PS4, GCN. Surprisingly, my Wii and Wii U Pro controllers didn't have any drift but my cousins did even their PS5. It's not just Nintendo. Though I only had one instance of drift on my Joy-Con and that was a launch day unit. One round of cleaning and I haven't experienced it since.

Re: Nintendo Is "Evolving" Into An Entertainment Company, According To Doug Bowser

Zyph

To be fair, Reggie already stated in countless interviews that they're [already] an entertainment company. Or at least more on entertainment than just video games; competing for customers' time rather than directly competing with hardware power. Bowser is just cementing that fact especially with the launch of their theme park and movie. Not really a surprise here.

Re: Valve Confirms It Contacted Nintendo About Dolphin Emulator Coming To Steam

Zyph

Emulation will always be a gray area. No matter how noble and "legal" emulation and homebrew is, it can still be used for illegal consumption of games. So I get where Nintendo is coming from and potential risks (piracy) are still factored in the legal system and can be ruled in favor (against).

That said, this still sucks but I wouldn't worry too much. The Deck isn't the only thing Dolphin can run on.

Re: Mario Movie Just The Beginning Of Nintendo & Illumination's "Rewarding Collaboration"

Zyph

I just want a Smash Bros movie.

I'm all in for either a Metroid, a Zelda, heck even a Splatoon movie! And I honestly prefer animated than live action.

Speaking of the movie I've seen it and I was really surprised by Chris Pratt's performance of Mario. He sounded pretty natural, not to mention a phenomenal performance from Charlie Day and Jack Black. I understand people's desire for Charles Martinet to voice Mario but after seeing the movie I'm not too sure if his voice would fit a feature-length film with a lot of talking. That's just me.

Re: Nintendo And Mobile Firm DeNA Launch Joint Venture Company

Zyph

@westman98 I never mentioned it actually is for mobile. Even if it is, it's not the end of the world. I only stated that hopefully it's not just for mobile. All things considered this is a good thing if it means Nintendo can up their business that could benefit all.

When the article was first published I had a few laughs as well on why on earth people would assume it's already mobile just because DeNA is involved. Not to mention the disdain they have on the topic.

Re: Nintendo And Mobile Firm DeNA Launch Joint Venture Company

Zyph

So I assume this isn't just primarily on their mobile business based on the company description, at least I hope it isn't. Hopefully there's a macro advantage here for Nintendo in terms of both their HW/SW development side. They're mostly emphasizing "entertainment" and "technology" so I'm thinking this isn't just about games either though still focused on digital. This could also be something related to their online infrastructure moving forward.

Re: Splatoon 3 Removes Rainmaker From Anarchy Battle Rotation Due To Bug

Zyph

@Nikhogan It was never 100% sure the bug would have been found if they delayed it a few more months. I can understand for offline games but nobody can predict and test every little aspect in online games regardless of genre. There's a reason why a lot of them are still in early access hell not to mention decade old games that are still in service still receiving bug updates.

@Uncle_Franklin Yeah though feature-wise I'm pretty content with it as a sequel. But the modes haven't really changed much so it's pretty easy to just jump to 2 again for some matches.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

Zyph

As much as I want to support her, I've honestly anticipated and waited long enough for the game and already pre-ordered it. For me it's too late to back out now. I really want to play it.

That said, I wonder if Nintendo also knew about this. Platinum's messaging was indeed curious and I'm hoping this gets sorted out. I bet they were confident that Taylor wouldn't snitch cuz of the NDA so sucks to be them right now.

Re: It's Official, Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Won't Be Returning For The Third Outing

Zyph

If in the first place people wasn't quite sure in the trailers if it was Taylor or not voice acting Bayonetta then I think all is good. If we were really keen and adamant on the actual person + her voice for the character and still wasn't sure from the footage then that already says things.

It's apparent that most people either just wants Taylor (biased maybe?) to voice the character (regardless of how she delivers) or just the voice/acting. Cuz I remember in the trailer comments people just assumed and were like "yes, it's hellena taylor omg!!!". Then we get this confirmation...

Re: Splatoon 3 Datamine Might Have Revealed New Game Modes For Salmon Run

Zyph

@PigmaskFan TBF depending on the weapon, you need to focus on protecting the collected eggs rather you yourself jump in and get them or else you're the one who's gonna get roasted by your teammates. It's a tricky situation since if none of your mates are collecting then it's up to you even if your weapon is a splat charger.
