It's been a year since the Wii U hit store shelves in North America, and it's fair to say that the first twelve months of the console's life have been somewhat mixed. We've had some amazing games, like Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, and there are more delights on the way in the form of Super Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8.

However, the machine's commercial fortunes have been pretty dismal, especially when compared to the original Wii. The system has sold less than four million units worldwide in the past year — contrast that with Sony's PS4, which shifted one million consoles in 24 hours and could potentially surpass the Wii U's sales before the end of 2013.

But hardware sales figures are just one side of the coin — we're sure that just like us, many of you will feel that the Wii U has delivered on its promise and has provided you with months of top-notch entertainment. Sound off in the comments below to share your feelings on the console's first year.
