This game will be crap though. It's not even debatable! After a year of development, that YouTube video is the best he could do? That thing is a complete and utter embarrassment, and his poor judgement in releasing it (and believing it was good) does not instill confidence that this game will ever be completed, let alone even be good enough to be considered mediocre. There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe how truly awful this game looks to be!

@TheRealThanos

Destiny and Watch_Dogs both ended up being enjoyable, if not solid games though. People had their expectations too high and were expecting 10/10's, but when the games got 7.5-8+ ratings people felt let down. They are still good games though, just not as mind blowing as people thought they would be.

Everything we have seen from this game though looks like absolute garbage and seems like a bad joke. Reasonable people have zero expectations for this title, and rightfully so. Most think it will be bad and if it ever gets released, will undoubtedly garner horrible reviews as well. The guy making the game cannot even put together a professional looking youtube video, but people have faith in him to make a good game?

So again, can someone explain to me why comparing his game to Watch_Dogs and Destiny makes sense? The situations are completely different.

Watch_Dogs and Destiny may not have lived up to YOUR expectations (did you even play them?) but they are both functional, playable, and have been enjoyed by millions of consumers.

This game will likely never be released, and if it is, will be absolute garbage. All images, marketing, and information about this game has so far pointed in this direction.

So again, your continued comparisons between the creation and release of both Watch_Dogs and Destiny are completely nonsensical. Those games are not even in the same stratosphere as Mad Men Football. It's like comparing a space shuttle to a unicycle. Those games should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Mad Men Football. No aspect of their existence is similar AT ALL.

Mad Men Football is the "creation" of one single, solitary individual, who has stated before that he has NO experience creating a game prior to this one. Please stop comparing this ONE SINGLE MAN to multimillion dollar development studios filled with talented programmers with proven track records. Again, this is not supporting your defence and proving that you are thinking clearly. It's actually doing the opposite, and making you seem like you know even less about the way things work.

Also, people doubting that Minecraft would be a massive hit has nothing to do at all with people questioning whether this one single man at AE Games can produce and release a functional game. No one was doubting the existence of Minecraft.

Anyone who could honestly say without a hint of irony that either Destiny or Watch_Dogs has anything at all to do with the development of Mad Men Football needs to give their head a shake. Those games have nothing at all to do with this abomination, and it's shocking that your mind would somehow find some tenuous connection between them, and that you would then share it thinking it actually was a valid point.

"If it is an excellent football game on par with EA's offerings, so be it."

Please. Stop.

On the AE Games twitter account they just said that they have begun developing a second game at this time, but this one will be a PS4 exclusive as it requires maximum graphical power. Here is the trailer they posted for it.

The people saying this looks good are hopelessly deluded and lack the ability for logical thought. Comparing Destiny to this game or even mentioning it as if this game has any similarities to it shows someone is not capable of constructing a reasonable argument.

The guy who made the video (and who is being trusted with producing a playable game) can't even pick a half decent font (what's a 'bideo game'?) and has shown a complete lack of programming skill (this looks like a demo reel produced by a first year college student in a graphic design course). His marketing abilities are also hilariously bad, what with holding lame contests on his website where he mails out crappy character artwork to 'winners' and posted a manifesto where he states that he's going to put all third party developers to shame with this game, and how great it will be.

I hope this train wreck continues, as it's been a fascinating/cringe inducing ride so far!

@bezerker99

True story!

In 9th grade my buddies and I used to print off the nWo logo and various pics of Hollywood Hogan and stick them in classrooms and on walls all over school.

One day in math class I talked a girl I knew into writing 'nWo 4 Life' on the blackboard before our teacher got there, and I believe she also put 'Buff is the stuff' as well (everyone was watching this stuff back then and the class was loving it).

Anyway, the teacher who was in that room before my class began came back in because she forgot something, saw the board, her expression changed, then she stomped over to her desk and pulled out numerous pictures of Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and our nWo posters and began shouting 'This is gang behaviour!! This crap does not belong at school!! Now I know who is responsible!'

Nothing ever came of it, but I remember she was super pissed! For the rest of that year while walking down the hallways I would see my nWo print outs hanging in the lockers of dozens of the older students, which was kind of cool haha. I think anyone who was lucky enough to be a teenager during those years of wrestling experienced something that will never happen again!

No Mercy had a fantastic create a wrestler among other options, but the core roster was basically garbage (maybe 10-15 cool guys, while Revenge features 30+ big time stars) and the slowdown during multiplayer killed it for me.

Even back then, I played Revenge more than no Mercy because it ran smoother and had a far superior roster.

Wow, I am absolutely shocked by the sales numbers for Bayonetta 2. They are even less than I possibly imagined! This game is a bomb, plain and simple.

Where does Platinum Games go from here? Everything they produce seems to sell like crap.

1) you keep bringing up other consoles dropping backwards campatibility, when it is not a logical comparison to the 'new' 3DS getting games that do not work on the original 3DS hardware. 40 million users will be missing out on new 3DS games that will be unplayable on their current hardware.

Can you name a single console hardware revision or add-on that offered 'improved' games that was successful? The Sega 32X was essentially the 'new' 3DS, and how did that one pan out? There is a reason not many companies have attempted this...

2)Here is a quote that will hopefully end your delusions at old 3DS games will be improved on the 'new' 3DS...

"Nintendo Australia Managing Director Tom Enoki has reconfirmed that games developed for the new Nintendo 3DS will feature both improved gameplay and enhanced visuals. Enoki reiterated that current Nintendo 3DS games won’t look or play any different when played on the new device. Here’s what he had to say.

You can of course play all previously release Nintendo 3DS titles on New Nintendo 3DS; the gameplay and graphics for these titles will not change by playing them on the new consoles. But we have already started developing new titles where gameplay can be improved and graphics enhanced only from playing on New Nintendo 3DS.”

@Pokefanmum82

The Vita change was only a simple design revision, much like the 3DSXL (but less drastic). It had no advantage over a regular Vita other than a slightly smaller size and 1GB built in memory. Both hardware versions still play the same games.

Same goes for the 360/Slim. Both systems played the EXACT SAME GAMES.

So to compare the Vita slim to a 'new' 3DS is ridiculous. The 'new' 3DS will be able to play games that the original model could not. That's nothing like what the Vita/360 did. Talk about 'flawed logic'.....!

It's more similar to Sega's garbage add-on, 32X. Something that was in between a Genesis and Saturn, but something that wasn't enough of a change to make people want to buy it. I bet this will be the same thing.

@Shambo

Here's what we know....

-The 'new' 3DS comes with another circle pad which is incompatible/useless with most of the 100+ 3DS games already out, and is only functional with a handful of older 3DS games which used the circle pad pro

-it has a slightly better CPU, which does nothing to improve older games, and likely won't improve the systems visuals much on new games (the screen is still the same resolution) either.

-the 3D feature is slightly improved, which isn't much of a selling point since many people don't use the 3D anyway

This 'new' 3DS just sounds like a stop gap between now and whatever the 3DS' true successor will be.

And Nintendo hasn't had much luck selling non-essential hardware add-ons in the past either. The circle pad pro, N64 expansion pak, GBA link cable, wii microphone, etc all flopped because they didn't add much, and weren't utilized enough. If only a few games come out for the 'new' 3DS that people like, is that enough for them to want to pay for a slight upgrade? I doubt it.

@Mega719

First Nintendo makes the Wii U, which confuses consumers and makes them think it's an add-on to the Wii, or that Wii U games will be playable on a Wii. Then now they are releasing a 'new' 3DS which is a slight upgrade over the old version, and which will have games that are only playable on it, thus confusing more people.

This 'new' system sounds awful. It's like a 3DS version 1.3 rather than 2.0. It's hardly an upgrade at all.

@JaxonH

It wasn't an insult, I was just pointing out that you buy 30+ Nintendo titles a year (which you admit to) which is far beyond what the average player does, and you are also a collector. So for you, anything you can buy that has Nintendo characters in it is good, because you want it. Therefore, you saying you don't think this is an bad/odd practice isn't saying much, since you buy such a vast quantity of games. You already buy nearly everything with a Nintendo sticker on it now, so why would you complain that you now have even more to get?

Again, I didn't mean it as an insult. You are a collector so I just felt your opinion on this matter was somewhat subjective.

MikeLove

MikeLove commented on Animal Crossing Content Is Coming To Monster H...:

@JaxonH

Of course it doesn't bother you, because you are a self professed Nintendo fanboy who buys like 30+ Nintendo games a year. Anything Nintendo throws your way you will happily eat up and not question their motives.

I'm not saying that that is a bad thing for you to do, but it does somewhat weaken your argument as you are inherently bias towards Nintendo and their cash grabbing ways.

Putting Nintendo items/characters in a different game was once something that was cool and unique, but now if feels like it's becoming the norm. Sega had the most luck with their Sonic DLC that drew in Nintendo fanboys and got them to buy Last World (who otherwise wouldn't have) and now it seems like other companies are betting that if they sellout their own products and insert Nintendo characters into them, that they too can sell more copies.

What if Disney started putting Iron Man or Darth Vader into every movie they make from now on, just to make more money? I mean ya, it would work, but at what point do you say as a developer 'let's make something people want on our own, instead of relying on a sales boost by borrowing someone elses popular characters and putting them in our game?'

I think it's almost embarrassing that for some people to want to try a 2nd/3rd party game (sonic, MH4, Hyrule Warriors, etc) they first need to see Nintendo characters in it and then they say 'ok this looks awesome! Day one purchase!'

It just makes them look like mindless drones who will fall for any old marketing gimmick. It's especially bad when people who were complaining about Spikey Walls being nothing but a cash grab view this shoehorned Nintendo content (which adds nothing to the game) as something fantastic, even though it's sole purpose is to do nothing but boost sales.

Again, I think it's a stupid move but if Nintendo wants to try to go this route and introduce their characters into all sorts of games just to make money, be my guest. I just don't want to see any of those people here who are excited for this complaining when another developer throws together a crappy $.99 game 'just to make a quick buck' when this is the exact same thing.

@WaLzgi

If I ask the Apple CEO to put a photo of my face on the back of every iPhone 6 and he agrees to do so, how could anyone reasonable blame me for that? Just because I made a stupid request?

It's all on Apple because they have final say, just as Nintendo does in this situation. They could have said "Nah, a talking dog secretary from a life simulation game doesn't really have anything to do with a game where you kill giant monsters, so we will pass", but they didn't. They should know better. It's their IP. It was their choice.

So far we have seen Sonic, Bayonetta, Monster Hunter, Tekken and Dynasty Warriors all receive Nintendo character skins for no other reason than to harden fanboy nipples and try to sucker them into buying a game they perhaps otherwise wouldn't be interested in.

If this happened once or twice, ok, but now we have three upcoming games (that we know about) that are getting these Nintendo-themed items/characters shoehorned into them for no other reason than to try and squeeze a few extra dollars out of people. It may have been a special bonus at one point, but if they keep doing it at this same rate its going to become very lame quickly.

@conman2012

A) because Capcom would have had to get permission from Nintendo
b) shoehorning Nintendo characters into non-Nintendo games/worlds cheapens their branding and is nothing but a lame attempt to suck Nintendo fans into buying a different product

So yes, it was Nintendo's fault/responsibility to allow Capcom to use the characters. Actually, it was all Nintendo since they have final say on everything and they are the ones who allowed their IP to be used.

@Psyclone

Smash Bros is a Nintendo owed property, and is made by and for Nintendo.

Monster Hunter is owned by Capcom and is made by Capcom and is released on Nintendo and sometimes Sony consoles.

So no, Monster Hunter is not a "Nintendo game". It is a game that is being released on a Nintendo console, that is all. It's creation, development, and history has nothing at all to do with Nintendo or their characters. That's why having Animal Crossing people in MH4 makes absolutely no sense and is just a transparent ploy to suck Nintendo fans into buying it.

I wonder if people who think that having Animal Crossing characters in Monster Hunter is cool are the same that were complaining bitterly that a Mercedes didn't belong in MK8 because "it took you out of the game" and "didn't fit the aesthetics"??

MikeLove commented on Animal Crossing Content Is Coming To Monster H...:

@Kirk

Agreed.

Bayonetta, Dynasty Warriors and now Monster Hunter are all having Nintendo characters shoehorned into those titles just to attract Nintendo fans to those games. I don't know if it is desperation yet, but it is extremely corny and a very transparent move of their part.

I'm looking forward to riding on Yoshi in Devil's Third though
