I hope we get Block Factory in NA, because I think I could have a lot of fun customizing a game. Heh, heh, The Tetris Company is not going to be happy. They'll probably still try to launch some sort of bogus lawsuit over this game. In retrospect, I wonder if they allowed Tetris Party Live to lapse on DSiWare as some sort of protest against Nintendo allowing Block Factory onto the eShop — so wouldn't surprise me. Download Gameboy Tetris now before it disappears too, lol.

Lol, I think they found a way to make a Tetris clone without getting in trouble with the Tetris Company. I'll probably download this, because it would definitely be fun playing around with the rules and making your own game.

iphys commented on Tetris Party Live Disappears from eShop:

If anyone missed out, you can probably get a copy of Tetris Party Deluxe for less than Tetris Axis — I've heard of people finding new copies for as low as $8. That said, I think Tetris Axis looks better on the 3DS screen than any DS version of Tetris does.

Punch-Out so should have been a 3D Classic. If they're not going to add 3D to NES games, they should leave those NES games on the Wii VC or else give us the ability to transfer our Wii VC titles to 3DS, because it's kind of ridiculous if they expect us to keep rebuying the same old game just to play it on every new system they release.

iphys commented on Punch-Out!! is Japan's Next NES 3DS VC Game:

Well, now I'm sad this wasn't an ambassador game. I was hopeful before that we would get a 3D Classic version, so I took it as a good sign when it wasn't one of the ambassador titles. I might still buy it again anyway, but this was one game I really wanted to see as a 3D Classic for sure. I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for a new 3DS version of Punch-Out!!

iphys commented on Talking Point: Using Glitches - Cheating or Cl...:

If you hack a game, or enter a secret code at a title screen, or pause the game to enter a secret code, I call that cheating because you are doing something outside of the gameplay to influence it. If you are simply playing the game and take a secret shortcut that the programmers included on purpose or use a glitch that the programmers included by mistake, I don't consider that cheating because it is part of the gameplay whether the programmers intended for it to be or not.

iphys commented on Review: Tetris (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy):

Tetris DX didn't have the same great music, and it was easier to keep playing at the top speed so the game didn't have the same challenge as this one. Now that we can save high scores, the only real advantage to DX was the colour, but being as the colours were non-standard it's almost more confusing to play it.

Tetris? For Gameboy? Almost fainted when I saw that. I never thought Nintendo would get the rights to re-release that. I sure hope we get it in NA this week too. I wasn't going to buy any more pea soup games, but I have too much nostalgia for this game. OMG, now we can save our high scores.

iphys commented on Review: 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure (3DSWare):

Kirby looks tiny. They should have put the bottom panel on the bottom screen and tried to scale the rest to fit the 3DS top screen approximately instead of having the border. I liked the way they redid Excitebike and Xevious to use the whole screen instead of just using a border.

iphys commented on Review: Tetris Axis (3DS):

@bofis — there is a level 11 CPU, although I think it still might be easier than the level 5 CPU on Tetris DS. Overall, I think this is a better game than Tetris DS though because you can move the pieces faster, there's no infinite spin, you can do spins for pieces other than T, you get more modes, and there are so many options for the appearance and music.

Mwa ha ha, I pre-ordered this game for $26 during E3 and can't wait. Too bad the D-pad on the 3DS sucks so much though — can't really fathom playing Tetris with the C-pad.

Cool! I will forgive them for leaving us hanging on the WiiWare version then . . . as long as they actually release this one.

Lol, I can't imagine anyone willing to throw away their money on Urban Champion is seriously going to tell a friend to throw away their money so they can play each other. Even the original you could play on your NES with only one copy. It should have been download play.

Weird how being apologized to makes me wonder if we were actually wronged in some way, but I still don't think we were. Maybe it's a Japanese thing to be overly apologetic about things you really don't need to apologize for. I think it puts a bad spin on things to apologize to us versus just reward us with free games, but I guess apologizing is more sincere than just appeasing us with games.

iphys commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Makes Bold Move with t...:

I still think the system is actually worth $250, so I didn't need to be appeased with 20 free games, but I probably would have been a bit gutted by this big price drop with Excitebike 3D being the only freebie I got for being an early adopter. Getting 20 more free games makes me feel no remorse for buying early, although I suppose I would rather have $80 worth of 3D games from the eShop than these 20 VC titles, but I doubt I would have even had the patience to wait for the price drop even if I'd known in advance it would happen this soon.

iphys commented on 3D Classics Urban Champion Coming to Brawl on ...:

It should be SMB, Zelda, and Metroid, but I doubt they'll fork over all their best games right away. I actually kind of like Urban Champion, but probably not enough to pay $6 for it, and it better have single-copy download play or I won't even consider it.
