This will be the first time I will keep the predecessor to a new console. There’s value in having multiple switch’s in the house for multiple reasons, for me anyways. I also can’t betray the console that rekindled my love for gaming.
My daughters are staying with me for the Easter break from today, so I can imagine we’ll be playing the 3 M’s, MVC collection, Mario and Minecraft. Happy gaming all
Innovation in itself bridging the gap between PC and console gaming. I’m very excited about the mouse feature and all the pc games that will be developed with a switch 2 port in mind.
With all the Switch 2 hype, it’s made me realise I may not get the chance to get through my huge back catalogue so I’ve made it my mission to get through some old unfinished games. Starting with Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy, man I forgot how tough this game was and I played it back on the ps1 when I was 10 and I don’t remember it being this difficult. Old man reaction times. Very much enjoying it though, going for perfect scores and time trials is going to be a challenge. Happy gaming all
Being open world, I can imagine Nintendo are going to surprise us with a track creator like GTA online. Got a feeling this is where the price tag is being justified
@hbkay Hades revitalised the Roguelite genre by having a progressive story, well written characters and a fully voiced cast (with very little repetition in voicelines). You didn’t mind if you died in this because it naturally progressed the story. The gameplay is solid as well.
Brilliant presentation. Showcased so much of the console, they gave us answers and not left much else to speculation. The only down point of the whole thing is the paid for tech demo, it’s 1-2 Switch all over again but worse. But hey, you don’t have to buy it. Other than that, I can not wait. Exciting time to be a gamer
Today I’ve been playing ‘work on a Saturday simulator’. I’ve been on a sonic hype lately so going to alternate between, shadow generations, mania and origins for the rest of the weekend. Happy gaming all
My money is on 1-2 Mouse being a launch title over Metroid Prime 4 and I’m not even joking. Gotta show off that mouse functionality like it’s a new feature never used before in games.
I voted for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, I won’t be satisfied with that game until every mark on every file is obtained. In terms of Switch exclusives, Super Mario Maker 2 easily
Saw the great review score for Sorry We’re Closed and instantly purchased. Been playing since Thursday and enjoying so far. So will be mainly playing that. The Stone of Madness had a recent QOL patch so going to see if that’s in a better state and crack on with that as well.
Been saying since XC2 that Game Freak could learn a thing or two from Monolith Soft. This is a step in the right direction to refresh the series. Now what would be the icing on the cake is Pokemon having a levelling system similar to ‘Blades’ from XC2
I cannot understate the day my Mum told me she got a new Mario game for me and how disappointed (and equally ungrateful) 8 year old me was to read “Warioland: Super Mario Land 3”. Little did I know that it would quickly become my favourite Gameboy game of all time.
I am on the final level of Turbo Overkill or I think I am anyways. It’s the best FPS I’ve played since Doom Eternal. Can’t wait to replay it again to get all the secrets. Happy gaming all
Turbo Overkill baby! And since the announcement of Warioland 4, since it’s an obvious clone, I want to go back to where it all began on Pizza Tower. Then I still got a ways to go on Elder Lillies so will be jumping on that as well. Happy gaming all
I’ve been playing this since its release on Switch. I love it!
The movement and traversal system once it clicks, is just superb. It’s a perfect blend of Doom Eternal and Titanfall. The guns are big and crunchy and the bullets are always flowing.
There’s a decent story with voice acting (Cyberpunk Revenge story with end of Days Doom like world building (/destroying?) on top).
The level design is mostly pretty great with huge arenas to battle gauntlets of enemies. Odd questionable level design here and there though but this is very few and far between. Levels can last between 20 to 50 minutes on first play through. Lots of secrets to find. There are some amazing action movie like set pieces that’ll blow your mind.
Controls are incredibly responsive in terms of traversal. Auto aim is your friend. But manual aiming is a bit naff, the game is sooo quick and would benefit from Gyro cus the stick aiming is too slow, and is over sensitive to tuning. No option to remap buttons either.
Performance is not bad, there are small frame dips on the really busy sections but does not detract from the fast gameplay and the 100s of enemies coming at you at once. Graphics are old school with modern touches.
In terms of value for money, this costs about 15/16 quid. Some insane amount content here for that price. A fully fleshed out campaign, arcade and survival modes. Five difficulties. I haven’t even mentioned the sublime techno soundtrack. The game is not perfect but has easily become my favourite game of the year so far.
I’d love to see more co-op in RPGs. I introduced my 7 year old daughter to not Pokemon as her first RPG but actually Casette Beasts because of the two player co-op. She was able to control her own ‘mon’ and using me as a safety blanket, took her time to learn the mechanics of the game without fear of failing. Also tested her reading skills. (She is not allowed to play games if she doesn’t want to read in them). I hear Sea of Stars has a co-op so will introduce that to my player 2 when she gets older
I bit the bullet on Turbo Overkill and I have no regrets. It runs superbly if anyone’s on the fence.
Will continue my play through of Ender Lillies with a bit of Isaac inbetween.
Happy gaming all
I impulse bought this, then realising I still had Ender Lillies to play through so currently going through that at the moment. The soundtrack and art style is just pure beauty so I’m looking forward to getting round to the sequel
If Switch 2 wasn’t BC, it would be DOA and quite possibly the most detrimental business decision ever made. BC is the selling point for me and it seems for everyone else too.
It’s a day one purchase from me. Can’t wait for that sexy piece of kit to be sat under my tv. So no definitely did not damage anything for me. The over-saturation of leaks however did damage the credibility of many journos. Click bait everywhere
I got my first cracked rating on ANTONBLAST this morning. It took some dedication. 11 more to go.
Going to chill with some Battle Brothers for the rest of the day though. Maybe play one of the many Capcom Fighting collections as i picked them all up over Xmas.
Happy gaming all x
Jim Carrey is Robotnik in the same way Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, irreplaceable. Great to hear he might stick with acting, his humour and over the top characterisation would be sorely missed.
Glad to see Unicorn Overlord soaring ahead, would have been my first choice but went for Animal Well because I’m a sucker for good pixel art. I just want to throw out some mentions to Pizza Tower and ANTONBLAST. Brilliant art styles and look amazing in motion.
As a post Christmas gift to myself, think I’ll grab a physical of DQ3. I am a sucker for these 2dHD style games. Interesting to see MHR still doing well but it has been on sale all year so probably something to do with it
