Incredibly late to the party but I got this last weekend and it’s easily my GOTY. I love everything about it. MKW won’t be getting any playtime for the foreseeable.
I’ll be playing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. I love how old school it is and absolutely adore the art style. It’s also got some challenge in it as well.
Other than that, I’ve still got balls on my mind, NG++ balls that is. Also PowerWash Simulator 2 for the quiet moments in between.
Amazing to see more Switch 2 updates rolling out. They seem to be getting more frequent so does this mean dev kits are becoming more readily available?
With the odd exception here and there, my Switch 2 is only going to have Switch 2 games/versions on it.
Not quite a traditional point and click but Disco Elysium could be seen as an incredibly in depth Adventure game with deep conversation mechanics. Lots of item experimentation as well
The granddaddy of Roguelikes, the benchmark of almost endless replayability. What most Roguelikes aspire and fail to be. I’ve been chasing the Roguelike dragon ever since I first played this and nothing has topped it.
I will get the physical to honor the 1000s of hours I’ve made on the digital version.
This is great news tbh. I played the hell out of this on Xbox Series S. I’m glad they are taking their time with it and ensuring the quality is there. Will be double dipping easily if performance is upto scratch
I was sold at the first direct. I’ll avoid watching this. Takes away the enjoyment of discovering things yourself. I’m sure it’s going to be a cracking direct with Sakarai San holding the reins though. Enjoy everyone
Saw the hype in the chat about Ball x Pit. Saw it was 10/10 on steam. Saw it was published by Devolver. I didn’t even know what it was about. I bought it. I’ve made a grave mistake. This is the kind of game that ends marriages. Just as well I’m divorced 🤣
I’ve had an amazing week in general, so I treated myself to Yooka Replayee to finish the week on a bigger high. Looking forward to it after work today. Happy gaming all
It might be a bit early but I’m starting to get into the Halloween spirit. I’ve downloaded a few horror games that I’ll be playing over the next few weeks, Labyrinth of the Demon King, World of Horror, Dusk, PARANORMASIGHT, Halloween vs Ash vs the Evil Dead I will be playing some Final Fantasy Tactics inbetween. It’s my first playthrough and I can definitely see such the appeal when it came out back in the day. It certainly holds up. Happy gaming all
I made the conscious decision to stop impulse buying everything about a year ago. Like it was bad, most of those impulse buys I haven’t even been played. My backlog is disgusting. I’m now a lot better, one AAA game every so often and the odd indie here and there. I definitely feel less anxious about my hobby let’s put it that way. 😅
This weekend I will be tucking into Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles, I can’t wait.
In between, I’ll dip into Hades 2, Yakuza 0 & Street Fighter 6.
SF6 at that price is a steal. It’s been my main goto switch 2 title and had the most play time. Cross play was the selling point for me. Can always find an online game 😁
After work today, I will continue with Silksong. I also started The Stone of Madness again last night due to latest patch and will dip into that as well.
Cool article. I would like to add context sensitive jumping which I think was first introduced in Ocarina of Time (Happy for someone to correct me if I’m wrong). Probably one of the least satisfying type of jumps.
My favourite type of jump, similar to head bopping. Are downward strikes on enemies or environments that extend your jump.
After work Simulator has finished today. I’ll be spinning some silk well into Sunday. Pretty sure I am at the end of act 1. I have the last judge to tackle first. At first I thought I had hit a major wall but I’ve almost got the blighter after many attempts/patiently learning tells. I’m putting it down to tiredness so will get red bull’d up tonight. He’s going to face my final judgement tonight. In between that, back on SF6 for some online play. And some banana hunting on DKB. Happy gaming all
The difficulty is fine for me. Don’t get me wrong I’m no pro, I’ve died a tonne. It’s great they’re considering accessibility for those that don’t crave punishment. Be nice if this is optional though
I picked up Hogwarts Legacy on sale for Switch 1 for £9.99, then got the discounted S2 version for £8. Really impressed with what I’ve played so far. I do dread to think what the NSW version is like though.
The game looks proper cleaned up. And it’s on the cart. Will be adding this to my huge physical collection that is Cyberpunk and Dk Bananza come October.
In 8bitdo we trust. I just got the Lever 8bitdo arcade stick. It’s taking some getting used to but my SF6 game has improved immensely. I will pick this new edition up if I’m still knee deep in FGs in 6 months or so
Scored a 7 because it’s quite fun and it was nice to see my daughter exert herself. The game itself is pretty solid, and it has unlimited potential for QOL and gameplay improvements. It will sadly be a case of whether or not Nintendo will support and update which I think is very unlikely.
The summer break with my girls is over for the month as they go back to their mums today. I will be drowning my sorrows in SF6, all the Capcom fighting collections and Drag x Drive. I think it’s also time Cyberpunk and Yakuza 0 came back out to play now the kids aren’t around. Happy gaming all
My biggest gripe with the Crash Trilogy is that I don’t remember it being so hard. I know it was difficult back in the day but this time round, I thought my skills were lacking due to my age.
This latest revelation might be the key reason to why I suck.
Still love the collection though.
Me being good with only one Switch 2 purchase this month went out the window. So this weekend I will be alternating between Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza 0 Directors Cut, Fast Fusion and TOTK S2 Edition with the odd online race on MKW.
Almost a month on, it still blows my mind how good everything looks and runs. Trying to decide on a S1 game to test out performance wise.
Happy gaming all
It is payday weekend but i’ve only treated myself to the TOTK upgrade. With the cost of living and the high price of S2 games, I’m hoping to get in better spending habits with gaming. Loving the clear upgrade on TOTK. Smooth as butter. I never finished it so I’m starting a fresh save and going through it again. It always felt like TOTK was a “next gen” title stuck on previous gen hardware. It’s reached its final form and now a true “next gen” title. And I’m in love with it all over again. Happy gaming all
