Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd November)

I’ll be playing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. I love how old school it is and absolutely adore the art style. It’s also got some challenge in it as well.

Other than that, I’ve still got balls on my mind, NG++ balls that is.
Also PowerWash Simulator 2 for the quiet moments in between.

Re: Dave The Diver's Free Switch 2 Upgrade Is Out Now

Neckcrane

Amazing to see more Switch 2 updates rolling out. They seem to be getting more frequent so does this mean dev kits are becoming more readily available?

With the odd exception here and there, my Switch 2 is only going to have Switch 2 games/versions on it.

Love to see it. Amazing game as well

It might be a bit early but I’m starting to get into the Halloween spirit. I’ve downloaded a few horror games that I’ll be playing over the next few weeks, Labyrinth of the Demon King, World of Horror, Dusk, PARANORMASIGHT, Halloween vs Ash vs the Evil Dead
I will be playing some Final Fantasy Tactics inbetween. It’s my first playthrough and I can definitely see such the appeal when it came out back in the day. It certainly holds up.

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Neckcrane

I made the conscious decision to stop impulse buying everything about a year ago. Like it was bad, most of those impulse buys I haven’t even been played. My backlog is disgusting.
I’m now a lot better, one AAA game every so often and the odd indie here and there.
I definitely feel less anxious about my hobby let’s put it that way. 😅

Re: Feature: Jump, Man - A Celebration Of The Greatest Jumps In Gaming

Neckcrane

Cool article. I would like to add context sensitive jumping which I think was first introduced in Ocarina of Time (Happy for someone to correct me if I’m wrong). Probably one of the least satisfying type of jumps.
My favourite type of jump, similar to head bopping. Are downward strikes on enemies or environments that extend your jump.

After work Simulator has finished today. I’ll be spinning some silk well into Sunday. Pretty sure I am at the end of act 1. I have the last judge to tackle first. At first I thought I had hit a major wall but I’ve almost got the blighter after many attempts/patiently learning tells. I’m putting it down to tiredness so will get red bull’d up tonight. He’s going to face my final judgement tonight.
In between that, back on SF6 for some online play. And some banana hunting on DKB.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Drag x Drive?

Neckcrane

Scored a 7 because it’s quite fun and it was nice to see my daughter exert herself.
The game itself is pretty solid, and it has unlimited potential for QOL and gameplay improvements. It will sadly be a case of whether or not Nintendo will support and update which I think is very unlikely.

The summer break with my girls is over for the month as they go back to their mums today. I will be drowning my sorrows in SF6, all the Capcom fighting collections and Drag x Drive. I think it’s also time Cyberpunk and Yakuza 0 came back out to play now the kids aren’t around.

Me being good with only one Switch 2 purchase this month went out the window. So this weekend I will be alternating between Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza 0 Directors Cut, Fast Fusion and TOTK S2 Edition with the odd online race on MKW.
Almost a month on, it still blows my mind how good everything looks and runs. Trying to decide on a S1 game to test out performance wise.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (28th June)

It is payday weekend but i’ve only treated myself to the TOTK upgrade. With the cost of living and the high price of S2 games, I’m hoping to get in better spending habits with gaming.
Loving the clear upgrade on TOTK. Smooth as butter. I never finished it so I’m starting a fresh save and going through it again. It always felt like TOTK was a “next gen” title stuck on previous gen hardware. It’s reached its final form and now a true “next gen” title. And I’m in love with it all over again.
