One thing I’ve learnt from working in data myself. Is that almost all companies will bend and manipulate data so it fits whatever narrative they want to portray even if the data says otherwise.
TOTK! Yesterday I had the best play session. It involved making jet skis and boats and all the drama in between and it was glorious. It exemplified how the ultra hand ability changes the game, your strategy, your goal. Just like BOTW did, TOTK has boosted my love for gaming yet again. In cooling off periods from Zelden Ring, I’m trying to polish off the third modifier crown in Wildfrost, which is no easy feat! Happy gaming everyone!
Was made for Mario fans, and did the job well. If anything, it’s made me want to replay every Mario game in my library including the Donkey Kong games. My 5 year old daughter wants to do the same (obvs for the first time) 😁
I’ve yet to properly tuck into Have a Nice Death, the art style is stunning. Having lots of fun with Dredge, it’s one of those calming chill games that turns into an absolute nightmare pretty quickly. The atmosphere building is superb. Dead Cells Return to Castlevania is also another highlight for me and it’s given me the Inspiration to finally tackle the 3rd Boss Cell.
A link to the past on the Gameboy. Not sure which dungeon but apparently I was meant to be looking for a hidden bomb wall.
Had to call a Nintendo hotline for this.
Kids will never know the pain of having no Internet.
Edit: links awakening***
I’m proud to say I’ve stuck to my NY resolution so far and not bought anything new. So i’m tackling my ridiculous backlog. XC3 is the first one im aiming to finish. Just about to enter chapter 5 I think. Will no doubt be on Factorio in between.
The headline almost gave me a heart attack. It’s written like he’s died. I never realised how much I respected this man until reading the first two thirds of the headline so I guess thanks for that. Happy birthday legend.
@Teksetter from what I know of the game, you should expect the unexpected with this one. There’s more hidden under the roguelike/deck builder exterior it first portrays.
Finally succumbed to expanding my switch storage to 1TB. I unfortunately lack a desktop computer, so I am currently downloading my whole back catalogue. Factorio is nestled on the internal storage so will only be playing that while the library downloads.
AC:NH was the perfect game for me. Beginning of lockdown, and beginning of my separation from my evil ex wife, I played it non stop for 5 months and it served as a massive coping mechanism for me. It got me through the worst of times and i’ll always be grateful. Unfortunately whenever I feel tempted to revisit it, I associate the game with my terrible separation.
I watched a bit of Ryukahr playing Mega Man 4 last night. So I impulsively bought the entire mega man collection this morning on switch while on sale. I’m ashamed to say it’s a series I’ve never played and I’ve gamed for 30 years.
Between getting started with them, it will be a mix of Prodeus, Factorio & Signalis. 😁
I highly recommend to anyone playing this to use a controller with back paddles on with button remapping. If you can remap A+Y to the back paddles, this will benefit you greatly. This means you can use the analogue to move the cursor as well as use the A+Y buttons. I’m using the 8bitdo Pro2. This has completely changed the game for me. It’s not PC level accessibility but it’s a start. The only time the game loads is in the boot up screen, loading save files is pretty instantaneous (not sure if it will be longer for bigger save files). It’s no longer than it takes games like Terraria or minecraft (which have god damn long load times). Frame rate has been perfect so far but we’ll see how it goes when the factory grows. The game is digital heroin and I recommend to anyone with even the smallest interest in resource management/building games. Perfect game to unwind and listen to your favourite music to.
This is huge. The weakest part of the game for me is the Dark Souls/Zelda esque adventure. And all I wanted was pure platforming (because it’s superb). This is awesome news!
This is confusing as I’ve been playing this for a couple weeks now.
It’s a god damn good shoot em up.
Performance and some of the visuals should be easily patched.
It plays and looks a lot better in handheld mode.
My god the gore is so satisfying (imagine splatoon but you’re painting blood and guts all over the stages) and the guns just feel amazing. This isn’t one to miss if you like Doom/Quake
It’s a cool game but the cult building becomes pointless in the end and becomes monotonous. I tried to push through but late game the frame rate makes it borderline unplayable, even after last patch. Lots of crashing in dungeons as well
I was playing Disco Elysium last night and an NPC I was chatting to brought up a song called ‘Hail Holy Queen’ by an in-game fictional Artist. Considering how genius the writing and structure of Disco Elysium is, I wasn’t surprised to find the song on Spotify, performed and recorded by the aforementioned Sea Power. Great game. I hadn’t realised the soundtrack was done by Sea Power until now
I bought Prodeus yesterday on switch , bit of a risk as reviews weren’t in yet but it has reviewed extremely well on other platforms. Not one single regret. If anyone is a fan of Doom, Quake or any retro shooters, you will love Prodeus, I am actually blown away by it.
Mario Maker 2 is my favourite switch game, Will check this out for sure! My five year old daughter has now got right into Mario and loves the game too!

@FishyS ever played Fez? It would suit your puzzle tastes.
May wait on a sale and more reviews on this game. It sounds interesting
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 27th)

Yes we’ve been playing Zelda

Re: Zelda: TOTK Playtimes Start To Appear, And Some People Haven't Been Getting A Lot Of Sleep
I haven’t checked mine yet but I reckon easily 70/80 hrs. I think you could spend hundreds of hrs exploring the underground alone. The game is huge.
Next news story ‘Players spend 95% of their time in Hyrule creating weaponised Dongs’.
Re: Round Up: Indie Live Expo 2023 - Every Nintendo Switch Game Showcased
Will you Snail? is worth a look for the hardcore platforming inclined.

Re: Nintendo's Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom TV Ad Might Be Its Best One Ever

Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - April 2023
Wildfrost for me. Highly recommend to any fans of Slay The Spire, Monster Train etc.
Re: Watch Out, Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Leaks Are Out In The Wild

Re: Random: Of Course People Are Thirsty For Ganondorf In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Re: Miyamoto Talks About Other Nintendo Movies, Says There's "Probably Nothing To Announce In The Near Future"
I would happily take a Seth Kong spin off. The Kongs were the biggest highlight of the Mario movie for me

@JohnnyMind thanks fam, Dredge got my vote

Re: Cult Of The Lamb To Receive Free "Major Content Update" In 2023
I hope the new update tackles late game content.
The cult aspects become pretty pointless in its current state.
Re: Video: What Were Your Top Five Switch Games Of 2022?
In no particular order
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Factorio
Rogue Legacy 2
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Prodeus
Re: Triangle Strategy Has Now Sold Over One Million Copies Worldwide
I’ve had this unopened on my shelf for months now. I really should play it
Re: Aeterna Noctis Follow-Up, Summum Aeterna, Slashes Onto Switch Late 2023
Aeterna Noctis deserves a re-review. Your 5/10 is criminal. It is a beautiful metroidvania for the hardcore.
Re: Class-Action Lawsuit Claims Epic Games Knowingly Made Fortnite "Very, Very Addictive"
Can I do the same for Cracktorio, sorry I mean Factorio?

Re: Feature: The Spookiest Levels In Non-Spooky Games
The never ending staircase in Super Mario 64 (although technically a hub area than a level). For some reason, scared the hell out of me as a kid

Can’t wait to get this today!

Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - September 2022
Downloaded Easy Come, Easy Golf yesterday and first impressions are great. Already seems like a better golf game than Mario Golf
Re: Community: Found A Great Switch Game We Didn't Review? We Want To Know
Monster Train: First Class. Has to be 2nd best deck building rogue-like on the switch. 2nd to the superb Slay the Spire.
Re: Smash-Style Indie Brawler Slap City Gets A Surprise Release On Switch eShop
I agree with everyone else. Games have genres. They are not ‘insert leading game of its kind-likes‘.
Re: Random: This Super Mario Maker 2 Fan Spent Seven Years Crafting 'Super Mario Bros. 5'
Mario Maker 2 is my favourite switch game, Will check this out for sure!

If the doctor didn’t tell him to ‘get out of my practice’ in a London cockney accent, I don’t wanna know
