Re: Pizza Tower Finally Dashes Onto Switch Today

I can’t, I just can’t.

It’s got to the point in the switch’s life cycle where my back log (and my wallet) just cannot take the sadistic abuse anymore.

This game just looks, there are no words, I must resist. My back log has become so gargantuan, it’s become sentient, it talks to me and pleads no more.

This whole direct was pretty rude tbh

More than happy to explain. The whole game is about playing poker hands to beat the blinds (basically the score you must make with your poker hands). You play 8 rounds, each round has a small blind, a big blind and a boss blind. You have to beat the boss blind in order to progress to the next round. The blinds get progressively higher and more difficult to make. And boss blinds will have a specific random gimmick that will try to stop your winning streak. You win once you beat the 8th boss blind.
The hands you play give different chip values and multipliers. The rarer the hand, the higher the score. However as you learn the game, you can easily win with a ‘high card’ run. You start with a set number of hands you can play and discards to draw new cards.
The game gets truly spicy with all the jokers (they all give you different powers, quirks and passive effects), tarot cards (give your cards new effects like added multipler or chip bonus) etc), planet cards (hand upgrading).
The game comes with oodles of different card sets to play, tons of added difficulty modifiers, synergies to experiment with. Every run is random giving the game tonnes of replay-ability.
I’ve had a lot of fun with it. It’s the kind of game that won’t ever make sense until you try it.

@LikelySatan Biggest problem with RPGs right, you can only really commit to one at a time. I’m planning on Star Ocean next, it’s at a great price on sale at the moment. It must be good if it tore you away from UO. Make sure you get back to UO at some point, it’s incredibly involving.

I picked up Disgaea 4 complete+ last week on sale so going to continue playing through that. In between, Dicefolk is impressing me more and more with each run. The game offers an absurd amount of build customisation and optimisation and I’m enjoying discovering the endless possibilities. I worried that the ‘Pokemon’ side of things would put me off, but the game is pure deck building which was a pleasant realisation for me.
Happy gaming all
