@GravyThief Ah sorry, no, I can see why my phrasing is confusing. Other than the GBA cartridge we're all waiting for the other console versions to be sold on their site.
I've been looking forward to this one — I'll have them all physically on Switch when this one finally arrives. I rarely ever splash out on LRG, but Shantae and Tomba are exceptions.
Might be something, might be nothing, but JB Hi-Fi in Australia has had Yunobo strictly as an online-only purchase since pre-orders opened for us a while ago, whereas the other three TotK amiibo can be pre-ordered in-store.
My nephew's gonna get a kick out of this — we played Jamboree just earlier this week and he picked Monty Mole, and I scoffed a little bit (then I picked Ninji). Also, he kicked my ass and won the game. All hail Monty Mole!
AET isn't really a thing in Australia, as states on the east coast differ on using Daylight Savings: it's either AEDT or AEST. You want to use AEST this time of the year.
I could feel the cool breeze from across the globe pass by me when they announced this would cost something. And they said it so confidently. Cute idea, but I skipped 1-2-Switch and I'll be doing the same here I suppose, short of them turning this into a proper adventure.
@AndreyBoarao The best assumption is Cyndaquil's not in this because it was used as an Arceus starter. Bit random they've used two starters from the same generation this time though, it's not shaking things up the way we thought they could.
@Folkloner I agree, there's likely to be a replacement in the works. I won't be surprised if in the coming weeks we hear about a Platinum Coins rebrand as well — currently we can use them for MyNintendo rewards as well as Switch icon pieces — but what's the point of platinum if there's not gold?
I work at a store in Australia, we received a memo less than a week ago that the Switch and PS4 physical releases would no longer be a thing for us to sell and we had to cancel preorders. I assumed digital would still be a thing. Didn't realise it was this dire.
For what it's worth, I do buy the Funkos for franchises I like — I would have actually bought the game could I have played as Rita Repulsa, Agatha Harkness, and Elvira. It wasn't ideal for them to limit the character roster like they did.
When the rumours began about this rerelease, I realised I hadn't made it far at all with the 3DS version, and decided to try again after years. Now I only have the second boss rush left, and to collect the last stickers... yeah, I'd play this again on the big screen. I always forget just how absorbing Kirby games can be.
Still waiting for my pre-order to unlock... can you confirm if Ki-Adi-Mundi is playable? I know Padme and the other original secret characters are already unlocked, but I never had a Dreamcast and it'd be neat to finally play as him.
Edit: I can answer this for everyone else — the game unlocked for me, and he's playable from the start! Woo!
@EarthboundBenjy Off the top of my head, Switch 2 won't work with the VR Labo set unless they make a new cardboard build for it. That in itself is enough to warrant them making such a statement now, it'll protect them from any "But it's backwards compatible!" complaints even just for that one game.
Despite the naysayers, I'm jumping on this Day One. It had its flaws, but it was one of the games I'd always play with my brother, and one of the last we got to enjoy as adults again before he passed. From memory (when we were kids — we just played a level or two as adults) we gave up at the Droidekas minigame you'd unlock, and we lost our minds when we worked out there were unlockable characters. I'll do an Adi Gallia run for me, and a Darth Maul run for him.
Not that I'd blame y'all with the article about the game itself, but this is now the second Rocky Horror reference within just hours and I swear if Tim Curry, Patricia Quinn, Richard O'Brien, or any of the other cast pass away over the next few days then I know who to glare at.
@AG_Awesome Ah I just found the vid you're talking about I reckon, and the solution makes sense but the throwable red herrings caught me. They struggled in that part as well at least. I'll go try it out and edit my original comment again if I beat him, ta! Enjoy the game regardless, it seems like a bit of fun.
Edit: Ha! I found a way to cheese that boss. Throw the three items from the just-prior boss down to the freezer area, build a wall, and block that boss 'til the timer does its thing. See below link for example, but yeah, the game's a bit chaotic but that's exactly what Rocky Horror is, I'm enjoying it.
@AG_Awesome It seems fairly easy so far, there's no life system as far as I can see which I appreciate... however I just came across the third boss and unless I'm missing something here, he's unbeatable (edit: he's beatable, see below).
Soundtrack's great (Columbia's tap solo even gets the limelight); the "anticipation" scene has an amazing twist; there are links to Castlevania, SMB2, and Ghosts 'n Goblins.
But the random skeleton and spiked-ball enemies are strangers to the story (the balls are brought up at least and I smirked); it's almost a little too easy; and boss fights begin with no warning. What you think is going to be a cutscene? Nah, fight that Transylvanian.
Oh! And I've died a couple of times now during cutscenes, I assume the second time because I was standing on an item that could be picked up when Janet spawned from Brad. Not awful considering it's a simple enough game but it needs work.
^ Further testing on the above, any prompts pressed (immediately, wait a few seconds and it seems fine) after beating Rocky sends Brad and Janet down to death. I assume this is the same for any cutscene situation. If you beat a boss, stop moving on the last throw otherwise you might have to repeat it. Further, when I got to play as Janet there was a point at the end of her stage where if I was holding an item when I came across the end-goal character, I'd again die. It's very finnicky, don't hold anything nor jump too much at the end of the stage, but how are we meant to know when that is without trial and error?
The cheap price has justified it for now but the glitches need to be stamped out.
That's some mighty strange timing: I decided only tonight to rewatch the anime on Netflix, and was on the second episode when I came across the news here. I've been looking for an excuse to boot up the game too.
Her work especially as Jessie feels, as weird as it is for me to describe, as timeless. I never considered it was possible for someone so sassy; so vinegary; so full of life, to leave us. I hope she spent her last months in peace, and knew she'd have more than a few upset fans and friends. Rest peacefully, lady. Thanks for entertaining so many of us over the years.
Tomba's already out digitally?! Anyone who hasn't really heard of it before, do yourself a favour and look into this one (and the sequel). They're two of my fave games ever, I was fortunate enough to play them when I was younger.
Interesting to note, I'm in Australia and they chose the original PAL name of "Tombi" for the eShop release here, I expect the same for EU/UK. They could've stuck with Tomba like they did for the PS3 rerelease but there ya go.
I watched a streamer play through the whole thing some time ago now, horror games aren't usually my jam but I'm absolutely getting this one (and had only recently reminded myself a Switch version was going to be a thing, love the timing).
What!? I was only wondering about the Diplodocus crew the other night and reorganised a Groups folder on my Switch for them to fit a game that slipped through the cracks (Felix the Toy DX, very much so seems like a Toy Story 2 ripoff in the best possible way to say that).
I've always been an advocate for these guys, please support them knowing their bite-sized games have fun secrets. But be aware that practically all of them will go from cute and fun to creepy and nightmare-inducing at any given moment.
I don't know why, but when I first saw that scroll I thought it was one of those water ring games where you push a button to try to land a ring on a target. And not only am I now disappointed, I feel like this is THE game to do that kinda thing.
Not ashamed to admit that the only reason I boot up Tetris 99 is for these events. I like how long they've kept this support going for, and I hope eventually all the event themes are made accessible for everyone like they did for some of the earlier events. I don't think they've added many permanent ones recently.
@RygelXVIII It's a different Four Swords compared to Four Swords Adventures on GameCube. Treat it as: whoever has access to the game on Switch can join others in a separate multiplayer mode, and I believe open up a temple in the main game for single player mode.
That pic of the cast lets us see it won't be "Mario Party Ultimate" with the cast... Blooper, Hammer Bro., Kamek (I assume a host/boss this time), Pom Pom, Diddy Kong are all missing. Koopa Kid/Mini Bowser seems legit retired, so fair enough, but the rest are waiting.
As children, my brother made sure he played as Luigi in SMB3 while I was Mario. I lost him almost 7 years ago. To see the subtitle of the game pop up like that made me shed some tears. I miss him deeply and if we can adventure this way together, it's a stretch I know, but I'll take whatever I can. It's me and him, not necessarily Mario and Luigi.
The pic here absolutely did not remind me of the Cheshire Cat or the Alice in Wonderland DS game that I'd wanted to play for some time without properly caring to do, nor did it have anything to do with my new favourite iOS app in Delta. Paper Mario is my go-to this week, for sure.
I'm grateful I got to play a bunch of levels of Triforce Heroes with strangers, as well as proceed just one more level through my game (I remember that particular level was a pain when I tried to solo the boss years ago). Matchmaking is so awkward though, so I didn't expect to finally complete the story.
Sonic & SEGA racing on Wii U? After all these years, I finally raced someone, and even won twice by a hair and made one last Wii U friend. If the game had been more populated through the console's run I would have tried it years ago, but at least there was that.
And then I finished off by playing two levels of Federation Force with a guy named Mark, who showed me a couple secrets I would have missed and helped me fumble my way through haha. If you're out there, Mark, thanks.
I'm mostly sad that I probably wouldn't have been able to match with these people had it not been the eleventh hour for the servers. The games are a lot of fun and deserve to be carried over to future consoles, and future-proofed.
Meanwhile, I've long given up on my hopes of getting all the Super Hard rewards from 100 Mario Challenge. I unlocked two skins, downloaded levels people made with the rest, and am probs leaving it at that. Good luck to the team, I say.
He's one of those people who I never really thought about ever leaving us, absurd as that is. I just thought he'd always be around. The reality is less kind. Hope he rests well, and I'm grateful for his works.
@BandeeOfTheStars I'm sorry to bug, but chasing more context. You said things seem to be rectified — so you redeemed the icons, have swapped back to your original region, and can now change your icon again as well as use the Mother 3 stuff without going back to Japan?
@Zenibeans I don't disagree with this. I genuinely enjoy the games and do get a kick out of the sudden shift from joyful gameplay to WHATTHEHELLWASTHAT, but these games could work well as a way to introduce my nieces and nephews to platformers like them... until those moments.
As for the update, I've played the first level of the new update so far and it's been a joy, there's already been an obstacle in it that made me circle up and down the level a couple of times 'til I literally saw the light.
I'm not expecting it, but it'd be neat if we could save badges to different characters. I can respect all the regular characters playing the same, but for me and many others, I want quirks like Peach's float exclusive to her, and Daisy's double jump from Mario Run for herself.
Should they bring Noob and Jade into the mix, and we count Tremor and Khameleon since they're supposedly DLC Kameos... that just leaves Chameleon and Skarlet missing in terms of male/female ninja characters I reckon. Given how they have a Pokémon type sorta thing going on for Invasions mode, I could still see Skarlet being brought in as a "blood-type" Kameo, so far it's just Nitara and Havik I think that utilise that typing?
There's no option to save during the demo from what I gather, and choosing to go to the menu from settings will do so without warning you about losing data. I tried it early on in the demo as I was curious, consider it a warning if you want to take a break in the middle of it.
I had the original in my wishlist for well over a year, waiting patiently for a price drop. Then the price went up, ha! But I've pre-ordered the new one as it's slightly cheaper at the moment, comes with DLC that will (apparently) be exclusive to pre-orders, and lets me play the one I've been hesitant about. Not sure I would've had access to the pre-order content had I bit the bullet earlier, I count it as a win.
It's been theorised that the title may end up like what they did with MKX, turning it into MKXL once the DLC was finished. If they do a story expansion at some point, they may call that MK2 and combine the two titles to make MK12, making a triple entendre.
(Edit: Or maybe just a double... my brain can't quite wrap around that one.)
I genuinely enjoyed pretty much all of their releases. Macbat 64 was how I came across these guys and I find myself still replaying that one every now and then, it scratches an itch when I wanna play a short game.
One day, one fine day, I'll read an article where it isn't necessary to mention that SMB2 is a reskin/remake of Doki Doki Panic. Surely the whole world knows at this point
Bought my set, but debating whether to display them with fake leaves/buds/flowers (seems like a total pain to clean these particular vases with real specimens) or keep them to onsell down the line. These will certainly sell out despite the price tag, and I imagine only increase in value for the Pikmin fanatics.
Honestly my fave Direct I've seen. Petey in MK8, Daisy actually given a prominent role in a main series game, and a remake of an RPG I've been meaning to replay... those were my highlights, but I can admit the first two were only nice surprises compared to the actual game announcements.
Not that I'm knocking this, I remember being shocked by a gory comic featuring Usagi about 25ish years ago when I was just a kid and it stuck with me and I wish I remembered the publication (MAD Magazine maybe), but didn't the devs say there'd be no DLC for this game at one point?
EDIT: Nevermind, Googling suggests they "didn't rule it out" or whatever. What a non-statement in this decade.
Australian over here, I just tried redeeming the gold coins and I got my 80. I suggest anyone affected try again, if it worked for me I assume it's sorted out now.
It'd be nice if animated films weren't just a continuation credit for actors, but also a starting point. Why do we need an established actor to portray the likes of Wario and Waluigi? Brand recognition be damned, voice acting shouldn't demand Hollywood royalty.

Re: Toree 3D And Super Kiwi 64 Developer Hints At New Project
I genuinely enjoyed pretty much all of their releases. Macbat 64 was how I came across these guys and I find myself still replaying that one every now and then, it scratches an itch when I wanna play a short game.
Re: 50 Best NES Games Of All Time
One day, one fine day, I'll read an article where it isn't necessary to mention that SMB2 is a reskin/remake of Doki Doki Panic. Surely the whole world knows at this point
Re: Random: These Pikmin Flower Vases Will Soon Bloom Onto My Nintendo Store (Europe)
Bought my set, but debating whether to display them with fake leaves/buds/flowers (seems like a total pain to clean these particular vases with real specimens) or keep them to onsell down the line. These will certainly sell out despite the price tag, and I imagine only increase in value for the Pikmin fanatics.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?
Honestly my fave Direct I've seen. Petey in MK8, Daisy actually given a prominent role in a main series game, and a remake of an RPG I've been meaning to replay... those were my highlights, but I can admit the first two were only nice surprises compared to the actual game announcements.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 5 DLC Gets Squeaky Clean This Summer
You guys are never gonna guess my new main!
Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Lands New Character, Game Mode And More In Upcoming DLC
Re: Nintendo Switch Online's Next Free Game Trail Has Been Announced For Next Week (UK)
I look forward to booting this up once to claim 100 Platinum Points, then deleting it.
Re: Some Advance Wars Physical Owners Are Having Trouble Redeeming Gold Points
Australian over here, I just tried redeeming the gold coins and I got my 80. I suggest anyone affected try again, if it worked for me I assume it's sorted out now.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Stars Discuss Who Should Play Wario In Possible Sequel
It'd be nice if animated films weren't just a continuation credit for actors, but also a starting point. Why do we need an established actor to portray the likes of Wario and Waluigi? Brand recognition be damned, voice acting shouldn't demand Hollywood royalty.
