I have to disagree with the majority of people here and say that I actually like what I've seen. Provided it isn't too expensive, I'll certainly be getting this.
@Betagam, Keep in mind that we don't exactly want to lose our points -- you said it yourself that one loses points when switching countries. Besides, I already mentioned the whole "flipping to different region" thing. lawl. Another problem is that not everyone can access Wii Points via credit card (like me). IIRC, European Point Cards only work for the European region, and Australian Points Cards only work for the Oceanic region.
But that's not the point of it all. If we're able to do something as simple as flip regions, why do they even bother having different games for Europe and Australia?
@Starwolf, That's true, we did get Turbo games eventually. But from what I've heard, the C64 was released in Australia all those years ago too. So really, unless the OFLC has some crazy objection about giving us C64 games... I don't see why we aren't getting them.
I'm sure you'll get Axelay eventually, though. Just as soon as we get Probotector II.
I'm not that happy about this... all Australia got this week was Space Harrier. No Street Fighter (the fact that I wouldn't download it is beside the point...), no Commodore games.
I'm getting pretty cheesed off with Nintendo about this. Why do we have to have different games from Europe, and less? I might change the region on my Wii soon...
It's doubtful, but there's always the chance that when (if) the GBC version of Mario Golf is released on the DSi Virtual Console, there may be some functionality included. For now, I'm just going to scour eBay for the N64 version.
Also, I read somewhere that games will be priced at 200, 500, and 800 point intervals. That still doesn't say whether or not the original Game Boy games will be placed at 200 points (which would be highly doubtful...), but free software was also mentioned to be available. And I read that people will receive 1000 points to spend before some specified date for free. Hooray!
... Now I don't know whether I'll want to download the games, or buy them from eBay. I know what would be the safer, probably cheaper option, but...
(Ooh! Thought!) What if the Transfer Pak stuff was in fact possible now, between N64 and GBC games? That would seriously rock my socks.
I gotta say, that's pretty awesome. Though I'm afraid that this may push me to download the rest of the series once made available, Mega Man 9 will definitely be my next WiiWare purchase.
... I wonder if there'll be DLC like a "SNES mode" or something in the future. That would certainly be neat.
OMG... I just remembered... THIS version of Sonic the Hedgehog was the one I played when I was younger. All this time, I thought I owned the Mega Drive. Bah!
Well, this is what I'm spending my last 500 points on, now. When I get my next 2000 Points Card, that is...
Hooray! Now only South Korea has to wait to get SMRPG... and I imagine it'll be quite a long wait for them. = /
It's strange, but after beating a certain boss with tentacles, I lost interest in the game. Perhaps I should try getting back into it, sooner rather than later.
Dunno how to feel about Mario Golf... I think I'll just get a copy on eBay, so I can do that character transfer thingie. This is, of course, assuming that everywhere else will get Mario Golf as their next N64 title on their respective Virtual Console.
@ Bristol Red: Yeah, you download an electronic manual when you download a VC game (note that the manual for WiiWare games can only be found on the Wii Shop Channel for some reason...); just press the Home button and you should see it. ; )
I'm still super excited that SMRPG was released today, it was so unexpected. = D
I was extremely surprised when I saw this up on Aussie-Nintendo. I had a feeling we'd see SMRPG sometime during September (wasn't gonna get my hopes up...), but then, this happened. Hooray!
Luc, It is disappointing to hear that you're quitting the business, but I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavours. Just try not to let the jerks on THAT site get you down too much... = /
While I'd love to download this, I can't figure out how to get the internet on my phone to work properly. I can access it, but pages don't load and it still costs me money for every page I try to access. = / This gives me an incentive to go down to the nearest phone store to find out why it doesn't work, though.
Luc Bernard, you are seriously awesome. If only other game companies were as generous as you...
It would be exceedingly awesome if Nintendo were to give us an SD card/USB storage solution. Hopefully they'd give us a few extra pages for the Wii Menu, as well. But I'm not desperate for more space at the moment...
@Drake: Naw, I wouldn't complain about that. Chances are Europe'll get a Commodore 64 game to play with, so those articles are fair to be based around Europe. But whatever, we must celebrate the great news!
So... uh... even though it was rated by the OFLC, why does the article state that Europe is getting the game, instead of Australia? = S I know we share almost all of our games (but our cousin gets a little greedy at times...), but shouldn't Australia take priority when it's an Australian source? Meh.
I suspect the game might be a "limited release" title, like Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. Just call that a hunch, though... and I certainly wouldn't mind paying up to 1200 points for the title. It shouldn't really go any higher than 1000 points, though.
Gah. Perhaps if we bombard Nintendo Australia with a bunch of letters asking them why C64 games haven't been put on the server yet, perhaps we'll get (at least) a decent reason why we can't download them. That, or we'll get "No comment," or "Please change the country of your Wii from Australia/New Zealand to the United Kingdom." >_>
Here's hoping we get C64 games soon -- a few of them look like good fun. Oh, and I suppose it would be nice if Australia got Probotector II and Europe got Axelay...
900 points? Aren't Japan getting a little ripped off here? Look at OoT, it cost them 1200 points to download it, whereas North America, Europe and Australia only had to give 1000 points.
... Oh... if it's 900 points in North America, too, that might mean we PAL gamers might have to pay 1000 points for it. (If it's ever released outside Japan and North America, that is... >_>) Ah well, it'll be worth it, I'm sure.
Oh, wow... I just realised... I've never seen actual in-game footage of Mario RPG! I must fix that problem!
I just downloaded this from the Shop Channel, along with FF. I was left with 93 blocks, so I got rid of Pokémon Snap, Super Mario 64, DKC, Super Metroid and ALttP. I rarely play these games anymore anyway...
But, uh... the DS demo selection is pretty weak when compared to the North American demos. Mario Kart? Brain Training? Sight Training? Maths Training? I'm not saying these games are bad... but we could have used a bit more variety. Where's mah Cooking Mama 2?
I'm starting to look forward to this, it's great that the demo feature is going to be available for us. I wonder if we Australians will get the games on either the Tuesday or Wednesday...
Ooh, I'll keep my 600 points. I might be getting another 2000 points card by then... But, uh... Toki Tori is the only one I'm keeping an eye on at the moment, anyway. Hopefully someone can send me the Dr. Mario demo (if our version has it, that is).
Still no sign of these being limited offers? Good, I can take my time getting them. Metal Slug interests me the most, and I might get Cho Aniki if it'll be worth it.
Come to think of it, I haven't even downloaded a NeoGeo title yet. Well, I'll fix that the next time I get a points card. Screw both Blue's Adventure and Magician Lord, Metal Slug is the title I've been waiting for! (Well, sort of, anyway...)
DoReMi Fantasy and Bio Miracle Boutekke Upa are STILL not going to be released? Kinda disappointing... perhaps there'll be another Hanabi Festival later this year.
Still, wooh for Star Parioder! I guess none of the titles are "limited edition" this time around, which is excellent.
Here's a list of the games we're bound to see before the festival ends:
• Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa • Cho Aniki • DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no DokiDoki Daibouken • Star Parioder • Digital Champ Battle Boxing • Gley Lancer
And perhaps Super Turrican 2, but I'm not sure if it was ever released in PAL territories. Bio Miracle, Gley Lancer and DoReMi are the only ones that pique my interest, I might give the others a miss.
We'd have to get DoReMi Fantasy soon. The OFLC have been sitting on it for ages now, and the Hanabi Festival is the perfect time to release it. I'm still kinda doubtful about Rondo of Blood, though; wasn't DKC2 already previously rated by the OFLC? Then again, I guess they'd have to rate every release, and not just keep the previous release from years ago.
It's too bad that the US doesn't really speak for Europe and Australia when it comes to the Virtual Console... I'd kill to be able to play Super Mario RPG and Earthbound.
Australia got them. When I loaded up the VC channel, I was literally going "Hoo! Hoo!" out of excitement, before I realised that I was getting a little bit ahead of myself... teehee.
DoReMi Fantasy confirmed to be coming within a couple of weeks, people! Time to go get some more points! Ugh, what would we do without the Hanabi Festival? Much love to you, Nintendo.
Wait, I'm confused... does it have co-op or not? It says in the description of the game:
"Double Dragon features 2 player co-op and offers a deep combat system based on punches, kicks and many weapons and interactive items."
I'm more inclined to believe vc-reviews, as Nintendo often messes up descriptions, but... that's a pretty big blunder if they promise two player co-op.

I think I'll have to pass on Tetris. I already forked out enough cash for Tetris DS, and I barely even play that!
Re: Fake Man Content Pack Coming To WiiWare Next Week?
Sounds pretty cool, once I get Mega Man 9 and beat it, this'll be one of the first bits of DLC I'll get.
@AlexSays,
I daresay that the middle dot in MO8E's avatar represents Aether, which would signify the "master" bit. Might be wrong, though. = /
