@OwenGamer22 I think this is different in more that it's an early access option for those on PC and not like the game releases and it's single player is bare. TFH was a bit different in the fact it was a fighting game, and thus their main game was more so the actual combat systems rather than the single player mode, but I still get sad either which way with how the game got screwed over. That game is awesome to play online
I definitely feel like the $20 increase for physical across the board was done for the Switch 2 version to subsidize the cost of the cartridge while keeping it in line with the other versions. I think this definitely will show if people are willing to put their money where their mouth is and buy a physical version of a Switch 2 game for $20 more of it's all there, because man if people don't then you better not be complaining if companies do more key-cards
Would make since considering Scott Pilgrim Takes Off putting more spotlight on the Ex's. Lucas and Roxy are good picks too since they add a lot of visual variety to the game and most likely playstyles.
Damn that's insane Itsuno was able to nab Bengus from Capcom. Dude has been like, one of their main illustrator for their fighters for years since the mid 90's.
Really cool that they seem to be doing a full cartridge release without even a price increase. I never got around to playing the original Yooka-Laylee, despite many sales it's gone on, but I guess I probably waited a good amount of time then for this remake. Definitely will be on the lookout for this physically if I get the chance.
If you told me 8 years ago while playing the Slime-San demo that this dev was going to be making a brand new, full scale 3D Bubsy game, I wouldn't of believed you.
I was too busy thinking that Bubsy might actually be in Sonic Forces for some reason
@Yodalovesu I believe so. Mario Kart World was around 24 gigs at launch so I assume they must have something big in it. Obviously cartoony and unrealistic styles can still be super big in size depending on how detailed it can get with things like animations, since games like Crash 4 were around that size and also look beautiful (PS4 possibly even being twice the size lol). The maps themselves do also look super beautiful but I know that this size is weird just because Nintendo are gods of compression, so that's why I'm thinking Sakurai has something even more for us later, not to mention the full $70 price tag
Man this game obviously must have even more big stuff if this is 25 gigs. Just as big if not even bigger than Mario Kart must mean Sakurai is the goat of giving us so much information yet having even more on the way
Bro why did they save this and only this for the Championship this would of made the Direct better or just have everything get announced at the Championship
Lumines Arise I feel would have to be coming to Switch 2 at some point. I know the series has lots of legacy with PlayStation, but lets face it with the current environment with what's successful on PS5 it kinda needs a Switch 2 version. I do also hope that Enhance's other most recent title Humanity comes over because that can run on a PS4 so it would have to work well on Switch 2, plus mouse mode for it would be very cool to have since it's a VR title that uses motion pointing for gameplay
@Druidsbrook They probably couldn't in a reasonable budget even if Sega wanted to because Ubisoft made the UbiArt engine just for Rayman Origins and Legends so that way 2D art can be used with as little work as possible. Not to mention they much more so used rigging for their 2D characters rather than hand drawn animation, obviously not saying that it doesn't look amazing, but it isn't exactly fully hand drawn.
Man what was Sega thinking bro 😔 this looks so good and it wasn't even sprite art. Just the way the shading is done on the models and background looks so good and clean I can definitely tell they took what they did for this prototype and reused it's stylings for Penny's Big Breakaway.
Honestly idk why people are saying Wilds is doing awful. The game already sold at least half of World's sales in one month and people expect it to just keep selling multiple millions for month after month, when I think that more so everyone that wanted Wilds super badly bought it on launch, and that everyone else that would want it are just waiting for sales and being slow with game purchases since World definitely got to where it is from said sales and just the current climate of the average game buyer requiring them to be more picky and slow with the games they get
Very interested to see what pops up here, because I actually buy a lot of 3rd party titles on Switch. Now I'm just wondering what Nintendo's gonna have for their first party titles, because I feel like now Metroid Prime 4 is coming as a holiday title and Kirby Air Riders is getting delayed lol
Glad to see that this is getting a new physical! It honestly kinda sucks whenever I hear a game is a numbered LRG game because I know I probably won't be able to get it at all. At least with every other company I can buy it later if they don't sell out immediately. I think that's why I get so annoyed at LRG. Well hey at least this is here now
This feels like such a weird game to not be 60fps on Switch, or at least a consistent frame rate. I'm wondering how devs are optimizing their games at this point or what Ragebound has going on to not make it 60, because I have no idea how this isn't in Switch
Very surprised at how high it is. I personally never need a pro controller like this since I actually quite like the Joy-Cons but I do know some only swear by it
Saw some gameplay of it and it's pure busted in just the right ways for a game by 8ing. Game is way too expensive at $60 for such little content on top of a season pass, but I will definitely consider picking it up on a sale because it's awesome HxH did get a genuine fighting game and not a mindless anime arena fighter
Nice that it is a full cartridge. It seems like many devs do want to still do full games with Nintendo, I think that just the price they cost to produce is just the main hurdle for devs. Hopefully that cost can go down so that way we can get cheaper physicals as well
I've actually been pretty interested in playing this because I always thought the game looked pretty interesting. Will definitely check the demo out when it comes to the US
You should also mention that you can play one of the greatest fighting games of all time in SF6, being SF6 itself, but using Mega Man to get the masses to play works as well lol
You know if I remember correctly, I think this might be the best selling Switch 2 third party title in Japan atm with physical sales, which feels like a crazy sentence to say but I do know Tamagotchi is still big in Japan but didn't know it was big enough for a full on release title
I would of loved to of bought these amiibos, but this is the one thing I think Nintendo kinda brought too high of a price. For $40 each, they at least needed to be very detailed, or at least got you something substantial for scanning in, and to me it just feels like there isn't anything major for either, because at this point it's better just to find an actual figure of these guys
Very cool looking outfit. Hopefully there will be more collab costumes in the future because I know if they put any large focus on avatar stuff, I know people will get mad all over again like with the TMNT and SpyXFamily collabs
Honestly didn't know because I didn't see the Switch logo at all during the show. Although after the gameplay here I am intrigued to possibly check it out if the Switch version is pretty good because the gameplay they showed actually looked really fun
I'm glad that Sagat is dropping in September because SF6 has had a weird problem the past two years where between characters 2 and 3 of each season ends up being very long and not very well spaced out, so Sagat coming later is a good sign to me because then I bet they'll have better release cadence then
I'm not completely surprised, but I would assume once we get more day one releases on Switch 2 and Mario Kart fever wains a little bit for everyone trying to get one, 3rd party sales will pick up. Could also be a case of companies setting their expectations very high for this launch when basically all large 3rd party releases are ports right now, and just thinking that if they're at launch people will buy them right away. We can't say for certain, but I doubt that Switch 2 is going to have 3rd party devs struggling for sales like Wii U, we probably just need to build momentum a bit more and just have more games on the way
@Liam_Doolan Were you able to play any online matches? When I first tried MvC on Switch 2 it said it couldn't establish a connection with the server to play
@lovesushi Matchmaking is great in the game. SF is one of those series where there's always a lot of people of all skill levels playing so you'll definitely be able to find some good matches
It's crazy the numbers the Switch 2 is pulling rn. Definitely shows Nintendo's dominance over Japan's gaming sphere. Only surprise here is that SF6 isn't on the charts considering how it's big in Japan rn, but I guess if Capcom counts it as digital sales at retail, maybe Famitsu doesn't track it because I would have to assume that's doing very well for Capcom.
I experienced this with Guilty Gear XX as I saw it was incompatible, but it automatically downloaded it onto my system and it worked perfectly, even was able to play online with my friend as well. Makes me want to try some of my other games that are on the list to see if they possibly work as well
From what I've played, the screen looks fantastic to me! Granted I was on the base model Switch for the past 8 years so I never got to experience the OLED really, but the screen is still quite colorful and nice looking compared to the original model
Very happy to see SF6 cross this milestone. I bet Switch 2 is gonna help Capcom get sales even further into the future as major big fighting games get sales on Switch, and with SF6 being huge in Japan, I bet this is going to be seen as a killer app for the system honestly, as it was for me
Bro this is awesome to see! Already was worth it for the price and if they continue to update it with older and new tracks plus new options this game is just gonna be getting better in the next year
