Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?

Fighting_Game_Loser

Probably NSO and modern compilations have been how I've played NES games. NSO has a lot of games but obviously doesn't cover most of the major 3rd party titles due to licensing stuff, so I think I probably have played them both equally. Both have let play a lot of NES games proper finally over the years so I'm very glad many of them have become so accessible

Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Fighter Next Year

Fighting_Game_Loser

@Zeebor15 Mane6 was a completely different team from the Diesel Legacy, considering both of them had stuff being developed at around the same time. Mane6 got gutted before Diesel got released and as they announced Avatar, and the animation style is much more in line with Diesel than TFH, so I'm more so just assuming that the same team that worked on Diesel is working on this. It's why I'm hoping that TFH could get their story mode finished because I don't think the same team would be working on this after they said they were laid off by Maximum/Modus, unless they were able to get the Mane6 crew back to help on this game after the new publisher got the rights.

Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Fighter Next Year

I'm very surprised to see this, because for those that don't know fighting games, this was supposed to be published by Maximum Entertainment, and to try and work on this game they decided to gut one of their other fighting games, Them's Fighting Herds, and its devs and left the game in an awful state. They then released Diesel Legacy which just kinda came and went, and somehow, this game got cancelled alongside that, making the entire situation pointless. Now, the company that revived this project also got the rights to TFH and Diesel Legacy, and it seems the Diesel Legacy team is the one that's working on this, so I'm hopeful this game is good but I'm really hopeful they bring back Mane6 to finish TFH's story mode, because that would make me so happy.

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Fighting_Game_Loser

It really kinda depends for me. Sometimes I find some games for really good prices and occasionally splurge a bit depending on if I decide to trade in a lot of games or something (a.k.a. this year with Switch 2 and me trading in a bunch of games and buying a lot of used/retro games at my local game store), while other times I'm a bit more stingy and only buy a few in a year, maybe only one

Re: Japanese Charts: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Can't Compete With Mario Kart World

Fighting_Game_Loser

@JR150 I mean sure it could of been a marketing get by Sega to try and put their other series in Crossworlds to get more Japanese players, but I don't think it's that. Probably the opposite of both parts with Sega using Sonic to try and get more brand awareness for their personal properties in the US kinda like the All-Stars Racing games.
And that's not to say it's not working even. Sonic is so unknown in Japan that if I remember correctly most of his recent games haven't even made the top 10 JP charts in their opening weeks besides Frontiers. So if anything this is a sign of growth, probably just not one we'll see become potentially big until later down the line

Re: Nintendo Of America President Doug Bowser Announces Retirement

Fighting_Game_Loser

Very surprised to see Bowser retire. Obviously the time he's retiring in is definitely one of where people are getting more and more mad at Nintendo for even the slightest misstep, which obviously I do feel like he did kinda accidentally fall into flaming somewhat, but I feel like this is probably a case of Occam's razor. Hopefully Doug enjoys his retirement, only wish him well. Don't know much about Devon but super cool she gets to be the first female President of NOA! Always great to see more girlbosses in the industry and hopefully she'll do a great job in the following years.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Review?

Fighting_Game_Loser

Honestly from what I played of the Switch 1 version in the demo and the open network test it seems like a decent version. Obviously it's visually a bit crunchy for a UE5 game on Switch 1 but that's just kinda to be expected, and it runs at 30 fps, but all other Sonic Racers basically ran at 30 fps on consoles so I don't think it's actually that much of a hinderance at all. Can't vouch for load times on Switch 1 since I played on Switch 2 but I didn't experience really any full hitches in the game play even with the cross worlds transitions (surprised they work as well as they do honestly) so I would say it's probably a good version to get even if not on par with the other consoles, but obviously there's a demo so just make your own opinion instead of just listening to me and the other comments here

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online's Virtual Boy Service?

Fighting_Game_Loser

I can't lie, I'm definitely excited for this. Is it expensive for the plastic replica? Yes. Is there no like "absolute 10/10 omg this is gonna make me go crazy" games? No. But be honest guys you haven't cared enough to want to try and give these games a fair shot anyways. I've gained a greater appreciation for the library overtime thanks to Jeremy Parrish's Works series and just the fact that these games are cool oddities that I feel like are worth giving a fair chance, even with the additional purchase of the cardboard model even.

Re: No Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Planned

Fighting_Game_Loser

It's strange SE is trying to milk out people trying to buy physical but want Switch 2 enhancements when FF Tactics has a free upgrade. I gotta imagine the Switch one versions of their cross gen titles must have much more superior graphics and performance, but Tactics just feels silly for them to exclude probably because there is no real advantages they did to make them want to charge for it.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Fighting_Game_Loser

I'll be honest I really loved the Direct. I mean obviously there were some eh things related to the stuff that was announced, but I just kinda move on. Galaxy games being expensive? Have them on Wii already. Paid DLC for a lot of titles? Doesn't matter if I feel like the game itself is good on its own imo, especially if a game is already pretty big. No new major announcements? That's just a lie Fire Emblem is a major title even if I haven't fully gotten into the series yet and was really the only realistic answer for a new major entry in a series that could be releasing now from Nintendo's main studios. No 2D Virtual Boy option? That one is honestly a little disappointing but I just appreciate Nintendo brought it back at all and in the silliest but best way possible. People just gotta stop expecting Jesus Christ to return with each Direct because you'll always disappoint yourself. I'm glad with what we got and gave it a 9

Re: Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake Resurfaces, Will Be Playable At TGS 2025

Fighting_Game_Loser

Ooof, this not looking great. Just from the screenshots it looks like a lot of the textures and lighting are super undercooked. Makes it look super low budget, especially in comparison to to the first remake which I thought at least looked pretty good in most parts. It just feels like MegaPixel studios just forgot they had their deals with Sega and are now having to rush them out. I at least hope it looks better in motion or gets graphical tweaks, but I'm not holding my breath. Super unfortunate

Re: "I Can't Afford To Give It Away For Free" - Silksong's Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games

Fighting_Game_Loser

The people here don't seem to be actually thinking with their brain and just going "GUUUHHHHH SILKSONG REAL GOOD GAME SO DEVS NOT WANTING TO MAKE BETTER GAMES!!!" Brother, these devs want to make their games really good, these are also small developers just like Team Cherry. You are literally missing the point made by Unbeatable's director here and reinforcing what he said that they can charge it that much because they already had all the money from the original, and were poised for success anyways, but everyone now putting all games on the same scale when they didn't have the resources or time to do so. You gotta have a little bit of empathy for the smaller devs that are trying to compete with this, because you can't get more games like Silksong of you don't support the indie devs that don't currently have that luxury.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Fighting_Game_Loser

Idk what people are saying about this line-up being one of Nintendo's worst line ups for launch. People forget (sometimes I do too) that the Switch 1 was much more desolate in terms of games being released with the only things we've had being BotW, MK8DX, ARMS, 1-2 Switch, and Snipperclips up to that point within the same time of Switch 1, not to mention that we were still slow to get games coming as well since Nintendo was still reeling from the Wii U. I think in this time frame we've gotten a pretty similar line-up if not slightly better for Switch 2, everything just doesn't feel as exciting when we are building up momentum more after we saw how much of a roll Nintendo and 3rd parties went after the Switch got going, and us not just having excitement over a new idea of a console and just being out of the Wii U era. But overall decent start, we've gotten some really good 3rd party ports, but I think it would be nice to see some more exclusive titles coming (in terms of devs not having Switch 1 versions which kinda hampers excitement as well lol)
