Soooo many of My Switch 1 games either now run flawlessly or HEAVILY Improved on Switch 2. I have no idea How/Why Nintendo didn't tout, or at the very least, casually mention this feature in their Switch 2 Direct.

Switch 1 Backwards Compatibility is absolutely a system-selling feature of Switch 2...and on that bigger screen?Yes, Yes and YES

Announce that it's all physically on the card and I just may have to (finally) pull the trigger...

There are some GREAT Wireless, 3D Audio (aka Spatial audio) capable headphones on sale for ~$60 or less. I picked up a pair of JLabs for $47USD!

Also, with Switch 2 having a somewhat energy challenged battery you might want to look into getting a power bank. I was able to get a 30,000maH for just $30USD!

Code-in-a-box is the worst way to sell a videogame. It's an insult and I won't ever purchase a code-in-a-box.

A possible solution...

Nintendo could, say, offer to subsidize costs of all phyical games that are 20GB or less by 30% and games 21GB and up by 15-20%. The logic is the larger sized games are typically charging more ($60+) and wouldn't require as much of a discount to recoup profits from card costs.

This would help cover the costs of using a physical card and incintivize publishers to actually use physical instead of game-keys.

Sure you make a little less off each sale but what's better? Selling 5k copies of a Game-key card or 50k+ copies of a subsidized physical card? If this is truly an issue for consumers and sales begin to suffer then Nintendo and Publishers would be incredibly stupid and short-sighted to not do SOMETHING to rectify the situation.

@MathByThePixel The framerate is basically a perfectly smooth 30fps now. It looks and runs great in handheld and is the perfect kind of game to play in handheld. Definitely check it out if you can find it on sale or under $30

@PeteW Fair enough, but you can be assured "the software is coming". If the Switch 1 era is anything to go by then I absolutely can't wait to see what Nintendo does next with its IP (and what 3rd parties do with the extra horsepower)

Hello Games (No Man's Sky) and CD Projekt Red continue to outclass all other devs when it comes to Switch 2 upgrades and ports.

Why is this (apparently) so hard to NOT screw over us Switch 2 users??

I stopped giving DF clicks when it was clear they had an "agenda" with Switch 2 by using non-professional comparison methods pre-launch. They love controversial Switch 2 "news" as it generates clicks.

Keep in mind, there were over 2 million confirmed people that signed up for the My Nintendo lottery. If Nintendo had the stock it could've just as easily been double what it did...😲

Physical or not getting. Just because other consoles no longer value physical doesn't mean that's okay everywhere else.

😂 I'm glad they did not include that Sonic x Shadows game that SEGA is scamming on us. No mans Sky offers a FREE upgrade for what is essentially a complete remaster...again, for FREE...while SEGA expects everyone to pay FULL price for a resolution and framerate bump. Sod off SEGA. I hope that game is 70% off this time next month

@Mjoen We all know how this will most likely go...Switch 1 will be all on the cart, Switch 2 will be a game-key.

@DanElectrode I'm pretty sure they have a $10 upgrade for the Switch 2 version if you already have the Switch 1 version of Hogwarts Legacy. No, it's not free, but you don't have to buy "the full game" all over again.

If Game-key cards became that much of an issue, Nintendo could easily do an about-face and begin production on different card sizes and insist developers use actual game cards to improve physical sales. There's several levers Nintendo could pull to improve the situation if it came down to it.

The mission mode was Great in this game! Don't sleep on the mission mode when you play this. It adds much needed depth.

Really trying to save my Backlog for the upcoming Switch 2. That said, I'm currently putting the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 through its paces (with an occasional side of Tales of Symphonia here and there)

@Buizel Yea I'm pretty much in the same camp. With Switch 2 on the way there's a much better Kart racing game coming and even if I'd get this game it would be the Switch 2 version.

Japan is definitely ready for Switch 2.

@LexKitteh Absolutely. There will at least be a 2nd wave of Free Updates. Hopefully there will be even more after that.

@progx I highly doubt they would ever do that. They created the Switch Lite because there's a viable market (esp in Japan) that likes to have smaller, portable gaming devices, which could be offered at a cheaper/more affordable price.

If you don't want to play it as a handheld simply never remove it from the dock.

Welp, looks like I didn't get one. It's ok since I've already got my Switch 2 paid off at Gamestop. Besides, all I really wanted was the Gamecube controller and maybe a charge grip.
