All Nintendo has to do is announce (during the Direct) that ALL future DLC will be provided "At no additional cost" (i.e. No one gets left behind) and instantly that $80 price tag becomes much more easier to swallow.
I've already theorized the $80 price point INCLUDES the cost of future DLC. Making paid DLC will only ensure that you fracture your online userbase and that's a big no-no when you have a heavy emphasis on a share online open world, esp for younger gamers.
You theoretically want ALL players to have access to ALL content to prevent player engagement from drop off. FREE DLC is how you accomplish this.
@Thomystic It has to do with SE not wanting to pay for the use of a Game card and instead opting out to use a cheaper Game-key...and yes quite possibly because they are only charging $40.
This sets a terrible precedent though. Does that mean ALL Switch 2 $40 games will be on game-keys? Ugh.
@Serpenterror Cyberpunk 2077 is the full game on a 64GB. Almost all 1st party games will be on a game card.
Game-keys suck but for some games it's the ONLY option outside of the game being purely digital i.e If a game is over 64GB in file size then there is litterally no choice but to use a Game-key.
This is almost exactly how PS5 disc's work. Not sure why everyone is getting riled up.
To play a physical PS5 game you have to install data to the HDD (which takes up disc space) AND have the disc inserted in the console. It's better than a code in a box because those are ONE-TIME use. You can't sell, trade or lend a code-in-a-box
If it runs and looks well this will be a definite day 1 purchase for me. Hopefully the full game is on an actual cart and not a Cart-key or whatever that new thing is
@Cronodoug pretty sure we may have just seen unannounced Switch 2 footage. Game looked crisper and to be running 100x better than what was shown a few days ago at the Direct
@Chocobo_Shepherd LRG is keeping physical gaming alive sure, but you won't actually get to play the game until 5-7months from its release, if you only get the standard edition as the collectors editions can take even longer.
@rjejr I meant they would (hopefully) be able to do 4K when docked, not on the handheld screen 😂😅
At least with the help of DLSS anyways.
I also predict the handheld screen will be able to output to 1080p, due to the significant increase in size ( compared to the original Switch). Sticking with 720p max could cause some games to look a little dull/blurry on a 8in screen
@rjejr Nintendo is known to be a late adopter of technology. They were late to HD and 4k. Hopefully with Switch 2 they will finally catch up to both 4k and HDR. Or at the very least 4k.
@MrYuzhai Well there's absolutely no reason why it wouldn't work for Gamecube games (Assuming they come to Switch 2). So yes, it could potentially work on those games as well.
@Spider-Kev It's been posted and most likely is fact.
Also, it makes absolute complete sense if Nintendo wants to sell 5+ Million systems in 3-4 markets at launch. You have to begin production and stockpiling several months ahead of time, not 2 months before launch (if the launch is in May or June)
If Nintendo hopes to sell Millions upon millions at launch, worldwide this makes sense to begin stockpiling ASAP.
Not sure why some people think a system, that's CLEARLY already in production, can't already have begun stockpiling for an imminent launch (most likely May or June). This is not exactly "impossible."
@tabris95 As long as people can be civil what's the problem? Tariffs suck. They cause the prices of everyday products and foods to increase. 95% of the population that aren't billionaires can agree with that. It's not even about politics at that point.
😂 They REALLY don't want to announce Switch 2 games yet until April 2nd. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if over 50 games were officially announced during the Switch 2 direct
With every Switch 1 game that gets released prior to April 2nd I'm praying more and more that Switch 2 has upgrading/boosting abilities for Switch 1 games...
Platinum are DESPERATE for investors and collaborations (i.e. outside funding) at this point and don't want to acknowledge any of their past works that poorly performed either critically or financially

Re: Konami Appears To Be Releasing Suikoden I & II HD Remaster On Switch 2
Konami is being stupid with this release. Why would anyone get this over the Switch 1 version?
Or does Konami not understand we prefer the FULL game on the cart?

I was ready 2 years ago and have some $s saved up. I can't wait to finally get my Switch 2 in June.
Re: Upgrade Pack Price For Zelda: BOTW And TOTK Has Been Confirmed
@PikminMarioKirby For BOTW & TOTK that $10 is for the extra content from the Zelda notes app.
If the Zelda notes app did not exist I'm 100% positive it would be a free upgrade.
Re: Bravely Default Is Finally Freed From Its 3DS Prison, Coming To Switch 2 At Launch
If CYBERPUNK (of all games) can put the Whole game on the cart, why can't a 3DS port do the same??
For shame SquareEnix. For shame!
Re: Hands On: Should 'Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour' Be A Pack-In Game?
Anything more than $5 is a Joke and Nintendo should be deeply Ashamed.

If I had to guess they will add even more heroes like; Iron Man, Thor, Daredevil, Punisher and maybe even Hulk (if he's not "too big").

Re: PSA: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Winding Down Gold Points Next Week
@Anti-Matter I use my Gold Coins for DLC, digital games that are not physical at all and digital games that are on a DEEP sale.
I've gotten so much out of Gold Coins it almost feels like I'm cheating the system

Re: AI Upscaling On Nintendo Switch 2 Is Basically Real Thanks To Updated Patent
@timp29 It works with multiple resolutions both starting resolution and upgraded resolutions.
So for example they could take a 720p image and upgrade it to 1080p, 1440p or possibly 4k

Re: No Man's Sky 'Worlds Part II' Update Adds New Solar Systems, Biomes, Terrains & More
While I love this game on Switch I'm officially retiring my playthough on Switch until the Switch 2 version.
It's definitely coming (in some form) and I can wait to play this portably in the best way possible.

Can confirm, the Switch Deluxe Edition is back in-stock (on Atari's website).
Currently waiting for US Amazon and "other major retailer" options before going with Atari.

Awesome! So glad they decided to make this available for the people who want to own the game.
