Re: Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Speeds Onto Switch 2 Later This Year

@SakuraHaruka But that's my point, they gave up in the mobile space because they were making just as much from consoles and were getting actual (healthy) "whole sales" from consoles.

Perhaps there just wasn't enough incentive to continue with the mobile market when they found enough success on consoles, again, especially on Switch where sim arcades work extremely well with handheld play and there isn't as much competition for "traditional" racing games

Re: Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Speeds Onto Switch 2 Later This Year

Bizzyb

@Princess_Lilly Yes, the last game was pretty good (for AA) and added lots of new modes and features throughout the generation

@SakuraHaruka I'm not too surprised they dropped Android over consoles, where they made actual money with actual game sales and not just microtransactions. It seems these games, especially Gear Club Unlimited 2, performed extremely well on console, particularly the Switch version. You have to remember there aren't too many "traditional" racing games on Switch like GT7 or Forza so many people turned to these games for their racing fix, moreso the 2nd game

It's Amazing how much value NSO now has, 8 years after it's launch. There are now Dozens of Classic games and hidden gems to experience across 7 different platforms. I know these are "old" games but they are still just as great/fun to play (well, most of them) and the Apps come with awesome features like; Custom Save states, Rewind, Screen Ratio settings
and CRT Filters. All of this and for only $50 a year.

NSO and its value, has really come a long way.

Re: Video: Uh Oh, Elden Ring On Switch 2 Has Issues In Handheld Mode

FROMSOFT is notorious with poorly optimized games. This game basically struggled on PlayStation and Xbox when it first launched. Hopefully this is just an earlier build and not representing of the final product. Also sounds like maybe they aren't utilizing DLSS

Edit: For anyone wondering the game runs at a locked 30fps and 1800p...on PS4 Pro. There's no excuse for the devs to not at least match that on stronger, more modern tech (with DLSS)

Re: Tekken 8 On Switch 2 Would Be "A Lot Of Work", But Director Isn't Ruling It Out

Bizzyb

@Scoopz Yet when I initially posted the game could run on Switch 2 your response was that it wouldn't be very feasible considering it's a "current gen" game and that I was (essentially) wrong...🙄

But glad to see you agree and can understand that if a game game run on Steam Deck it can run on Switch 2. I just can't take people seriously that think otherwise.

Re: Tekken 8 On Switch 2 Would Be "A Lot Of Work", But Director Isn't Ruling It Out

Bizzyb

@Scoopz Again, the game runs fine on Steam Deck. I never once said every game could/should run on Switch 2...I said this game could easily run on Switch 2 if optimized well enough and yes, well enough to not be a super crappy port like MK 1.

You are the one implying that somehow this particular game wouldn't run or look well on Switch 2, despite it running and looking well on a 4 year old Steam Deck. 🙄

Re: Tekken 8 On Switch 2 Would Be "A Lot Of Work", But Director Isn't Ruling It Out

Bizzyb

@Scoopz 😂 being able to sidesteep in a fighting game doesn't exactly make in magnitudes more technical. Is it more technical than a strictly 2D fighting game, sure, but this game isn't doing anything the Switch 2 couldn't handle with Optimization and compromises

Also the Switch 2 runs software that is NOT on last gen hardware such as Star Wars Outlaws, Split Fiction, Wild Hearts S, Final Fantasy 7R Intergrade and Phantom Liberty so clearly the Switch 2 is capable of more than last generation.

Edit: Also, as a general rule of thumb, if it can run decently on Steam Deck, it can run Switch 2.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Gets Proper Physical Release On Switch 2

Bizzyb

@SillyG Yea, unfortunately NIS America is doing the same thing with the Switch 2 edition of Trails Beyond the Horizon. It's $60 on Switch and $70 on Switch 2 yet is a game-key..! Some Publishers seem to "get it" while others are completely clueless.

@jmsalal Yea, me too but you already have people freaking out over $80 games. If Publishers started charging $70 and $80 for the Switch 2 edition games, the fickle masses would start complaining that games on Switch 2 are "too expensive" and threaten to boycott.

So Publishers can either Have people boycott over game-key cards or boycott over expensive games. They are in a no-win situation.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update Announced For Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Bizzyb

@AussieMcBucket Yes, they added several new vehicles/missions and 2 (somewhat) significant modes, i.e. Auto drive mode and Cinematic camera mode, both of which can give a whole new look/feel to traversal within Night City.

They also gave a Huge boost to photomode making it one of the most feature rich photomodes in a videogame ever.

That said, rest assured this is not the final patch for the game. Considering they have just launched Cyberpunk 2077 on 2 new platforms; Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac, there are bound to be millions more players to cater to, further adding content to and improving the Game.

Re: Sonic Racing: Crossworlds On Switch 2 Will Feature The Full Base Game On Cartridge

Bizzyb

@rjejr Yes, you are reading that right. I'm hoping this has something to do with Nintendo trying to improve the Game card situation on Switch 2 and it's possible that something with the size, availability or cost of the card(s) may be changing/improving but won't be ready for SEGA to distribute until early next year.

This gives me much more hope for the Key-card situation in 2026.
