@jfp Oooh yea, that game! Almost forgot about that one. Yes, that's another extremely well done animated 2D game. Thanks for reminding me! There's also a physical version releasing for those wondering.
@SakuraHaruka But that's my point, they gave up in the mobile space because they were making just as much from consoles and were getting actual (healthy) "whole sales" from consoles.
Perhaps there just wasn't enough incentive to continue with the mobile market when they found enough success on consoles, again, especially on Switch where sim arcades work extremely well with handheld play and there isn't as much competition for "traditional" racing games
@Princess_Lilly Yes, the last game was pretty good (for AA) and added lots of new modes and features throughout the generation
@SakuraHaruka I'm not too surprised they dropped Android over consoles, where they made actual money with actual game sales and not just microtransactions. It seems these games, especially Gear Club Unlimited 2, performed extremely well on console, particularly the Switch version. You have to remember there aren't too many "traditional" racing games on Switch like GT7 or Forza so many people turned to these games for their racing fix, moreso the 2nd game
@johnedwin I don't see a reason why they can't offer performance modes or 40fps modes, esp since the system supports VRR in handheld. I'll hold my reservation until more games have had time to actually cook and aren't being rushed for launch window dates
It's Amazing how much value NSO now has, 8 years after it's launch. There are now Dozens of Classic games and hidden gems to experience across 7 different platforms. I know these are "old" games but they are still just as great/fun to play (well, most of them) and the Apps come with awesome features like; Custom Save states, Rewind, Screen Ratio settings and CRT Filters. All of this and for only $50 a year.
@AgentGuapo You're missing the point. If it runs well on older (8+ year old) hardware, there's no reason it shouldn't be running just as well, if not better on Switch 2 (with DLSS).
FROMSOFT is notorious with poorly optimized games. This game basically struggled on PlayStation and Xbox when it first launched. Hopefully this is just an earlier build and not representing of the final product. Also sounds like maybe they aren't utilizing DLSS
Edit: For anyone wondering the game runs at a locked 30fps and 1800p...on PS4 Pro. There's no excuse for the devs to not at least match that on stronger, more modern tech (with DLSS)
@HammerKirby Don't make excuses for these developers. Switch 2 has Cyberpunk 2077, an open world game with many different physics, shaders, and graphical effects all running at higher resolutions and framerates than this.
I get UE5 isn't "easy" to develop for but this is just...bad. There's no "sugar-coating" it.
Switch 2 is significantly more powerful than Switch. Why does the Switch 1 version run @720p and the Switch 2 version only @810p (variable)?? Absolutely ridiculous.
@DTfearTheBEARD I'd honestly rather have the first 2 games than this one, but beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully it's actually a good game this time.
@Scoopz I'm not going to argue semantics but yes, you implied I was incorrect in my assessment that the game could run well on the system, with compromises, which I initially said. Sometimes just admiting you were wrong (instead of shifting goalposts) is the bigger move. This convo has exhausted it's purpose. ✌️
@Scoopz Yet when I initially posted the game could run on Switch 2 your response was that it wouldn't be very feasible considering it's a "current gen" game and that I was (essentially) wrong...🙄
But glad to see you agree and can understand that if a game game run on Steam Deck it can run on Switch 2. I just can't take people seriously that think otherwise.
@Scoopz Again, the game runs fine on Steam Deck. I never once said every game could/should run on Switch 2...I said this game could easily run on Switch 2 if optimized well enough and yes, well enough to not be a super crappy port like MK 1.
You are the one implying that somehow this particular game wouldn't run or look well on Switch 2, despite it running and looking well on a 4 year old Steam Deck. 🙄
@Scoopz 😂 being able to sidesteep in a fighting game doesn't exactly make in magnitudes more technical. Is it more technical than a strictly 2D fighting game, sure, but this game isn't doing anything the Switch 2 couldn't handle with Optimization and compromises
Also the Switch 2 runs software that is NOT on last gen hardware such as Star Wars Outlaws, Split Fiction, Wild Hearts S, Final Fantasy 7R Intergrade and Phantom Liberty so clearly the Switch 2 is capable of more than last generation.
Edit: Also, as a general rule of thumb, if it can run decently on Steam Deck, it can run Switch 2.
@Jhena Ahh ok. Yea the numbers aren't always going to be the same or ever increasing. Sometimes they hold back stock to stockpile for certain game releases or like during the holiday season.
You can more or less assume (at this point at least) whatever the numbers are, it's more than likely a 95% sell through rate, if not higher.
I don't necessarily want to, but I'm probably going to get the full game on card. This has enough updates/new content to warrant it...besides, at this point, every GB of storage space is precious on Switch 2.
I can count at least 5 games that interest me from that list. It amazes me how people can completely discount certain games just because they aren't AAA mega blockbusters.
@SillyG Yea, unfortunately NIS America is doing the same thing with the Switch 2 edition of Trails Beyond the Horizon. It's $60 on Switch and $70 on Switch 2 yet is a game-key..! Some Publishers seem to "get it" while others are completely clueless.
@jmsalal Yea, me too but you already have people freaking out over $80 games. If Publishers started charging $70 and $80 for the Switch 2 edition games, the fickle masses would start complaining that games on Switch 2 are "too expensive" and threaten to boycott.
So Publishers can either Have people boycott over game-key cards or boycott over expensive games. They are in a no-win situation.
Seems they were able to justify putting the entire game on the card by charging ~$10 more.
I wonder how many people would be ok if Publishers made this compromise and the average Switch 2 game that is normally $50 now costs $60 and $60, now costs $70 and so on...
@The-Chosen-one It currently looks and runs great on Switch 2, but yes, a full Switch 2 Edition/update would be great. Hopefully they will announce something later this year
You can't convince me that the Nintendo Switch, its hybrid nature and the resurgence of JRPG love had nothing to do with the amazing newfound success/fanbase of the Legend of Heroes series.
@TheDragonDAFan 😂 I wonder if lower than expected sales would have him believe otherwise
@hyliandood Oh wow, the stream mentioned Switch 2 as "later". Maybe it was a pre-recorded video and they were able to get Switch 2's release on time with the others. I'll definitely check it out later today. Thanks!
@AussieMcBucket You're welcome but I also forgot to mention the part where the updates 2.3 is not yet out for Switch 2. It's out today on PC and PS5/Xbox but the Switch 2 update is coming "later". Possibly next month, hopefully.
@AussieMcBucket Yes, they added several new vehicles/missions and 2 (somewhat) significant modes, i.e. Auto drive mode and Cinematic camera mode, both of which can give a whole new look/feel to traversal within Night City.
They also gave a Huge boost to photomode making it one of the most feature rich photomodes in a videogame ever.
That said, rest assured this is not the final patch for the game. Considering they have just launched Cyberpunk 2077 on 2 new platforms; Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac, there are bound to be millions more players to cater to, further adding content to and improving the Game.
@rjejr Yes, you are reading that right. I'm hoping this has something to do with Nintendo trying to improve the Game card situation on Switch 2 and it's possible that something with the size, availability or cost of the card(s) may be changing/improving but won't be ready for SEGA to distribute until early next year.
This gives me much more hope for the Key-card situation in 2026.
Aaannd bought. Hopefully sales for this will absolutely crush Sonic x Shadow Generations on Switch 2 and prove to SEGA that Physical on-card will sell better.

Re: Beautiful Disney-esque Horror 'Bye Sweet Carole' Gets Suitably Spooky Release Date
Beautiful animation. This reminds me of another Switch game called Forgotton Anne (look it up), a Studio Ghibli-esqe 2d Adventure/platfomer.
Definitely putting this on my radar.
