Re: Digital Switch 2 Games Being Cheaper Than Physical Is A "Challenge", Says Retailer GAME

Alpha008

Logically, it should cost less to buy it digitally, because they don’t have to physically make the cartridges, the packaging, the cost to ship it to stores etc. To be honest, it should ALWAYS have been cheaper to go digital.
However, if they are inflating the base price unnaturally, that still not on. I usually went physical with my switch one games because it was simply cheaper that way. Now I might reconsider.

Re: Hands On: Should 'Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour' Be A Pack-In Game?

Alpha008

I mean, why even make it in the first place if you want people to pay for it?

“Allo’ monsieur, welcom’ to your very expensive hotel room, would you like a novella featuring a detailed explaination for how your plumbing works? For a fee of course. It has cartoons in it!”

“Eh, no thanks, I spent a lot of money on this hotel room, I’d rather save my money on a book I actually want to read, thanks.”

“Sacre bleu! Why does no one want to pay for our plumbing book? We spent money making it!”

Re: Nintendo Music Adds 23 Kirby Switch Songs, With Rest Coming "Later This Year"

Oh, well, that’s typical Nintendo weirdness for you. I can’t see any reason for doing part of a soundtrack other than padding the release schedule… which is admittedly a bit worrying. Makes me worry some of the less mainstream titles might be forgotten about…
Stuff like Paper Mario, Princess Peach Showtime, stuff like that, they got loads of stuff to choose from, so why are they already resorting to padding?

Re: The Donkey Kong Country Tribute 'Nikoderiko' Is Already Getting A Director's Cut

Alpha008

I played it, was certainly enjoyable, but it did have a number of problems when I played it. Like, some blatantly obvious problems. They have fixed the game breaking one (namely the fact that the shop, who they even introduced a character for, was completely in accessible)

But it is good, it’s definitely more DKC than Crash bandicoot (although I feel crash is the closest thing to a 3D DKC anyway), and it does have David Wise, maybe not at his A game but still some great tunes (I particularly love the theme for “pump and dump”)

Glad to hear the directors cut is free, I’d be pretty miffed if they made me pay for it again,

Re: Talking Point: Can Nintendo Keep Up The One-Game-A-Month Release Pace On Switch 2?

Alpha008

Well, even now they don’t always have a release every month, but even then it’s like just one month they miss usually in the first half of the year.
I think it is possible, but they will need to rely on some smaller titles and works from studio partners to keep up that consistency.

The switch 2 may have a good number of “big” releases to start with, as many of Nintendos main teams haven’t released much for a while, but once that wave is over they’ll need to rely on the smaller stuff. Stuff that people love but rarely make headlines outside of Nintendo fan circles

Huzzah, a good ending.

That’s the trouble with these lawsuits, you gotta be careful, it could backfire in your face. Happened to McDonald’s when they went after a restaurant in… Ireland? Wales? Can’t quite remember. Something to do with the term big Mack. And when Macdonalds lost, Burger King took full advantage at mocking them, to rather amusing effect.

On the other hand, Sega and Archie comics didn’t take a frivolous lawsuit seriously, and it cost them the use of certain characters and had to reboot their entire comic line.

Law suits are a powerful weapon, but it can be a double edged sword
