Re: Warner Bros. Says It's Focused On Transforming Its "Biggest Franchises" Into Live Services

Alpha008

I understand the reasoning behind making live service games from a financial standpoint. They can be a great source of money. As much as we hate them.

But what these higher ups don’t realise is that live service games require commitment. We can manage a couple of the ones we like, but there is no way we can keep up with every game if they were all live service. One or two may make money, sure, but there’s gonna be a bunch that will die out because not enough people can make the time to play them!

Even if the internet liked live service, we simply can’t keep up. It’s hard enough keeping up with one! It feels less fun and more like work in some cases…

TLDR, even if people liked live service, putting all your eggs in one basket is incredibly stupid

My guess for its release date would be July. Pikmin 4 was revealed at the September direct and was released the following july. Both TTYD and pikmin 4 were the “big ticket” announcements of their respective directs, so i could see them both having similar release windows.
Admittedly, not the most foolproof of reasonings, but considering the release schedule, it could fit

Well, this is going to be interesting… i don’t like the activision execs, but they do have some franchises I love…
My hope is that the acquisition will improve the horrendous working conditions that we have heard about over the last few years.
It hurts when a franchise you love is stuck under one of the most disgusting companies, so hopefully things will improve

Re: Japanese Charts: Pikmin 4 Posts An Out Of This World Debut, Knocking Zelda From The Top Spot

I just played the pikmin 4 demo. Have to admit, I was rather impressed. It’s now on my “games I actually want to buy” list.

I did play the pikmin 3 demo and while I liked it, it wasn’t enough to convince me this is something I want to invest in. So cudo’s to the devs for making a demo that has caught my attention, otherwise this would have remained on the “I’ll kinda keep my eye on it” pile
