Please note, these presentation are predominantly updates to existing games and events, with maybe one, possible two main project announcements, so please temper your expectations. The most interesting announcement will most likely be at the end, almost everything before that will probably be updates regarding cafe remix, unite, and masters (which, y’know, is good for the people who play those, and they do exist) as well as presumably details regarding the next world championship, and probably some new show or shorts. These cover the entire Pokémon brand, not just main switch releases, so temper your expectations accordingly

First time in a while that a game with Mario isn’t a day one purchase for me. May pick it up eventually, but wasn’t leaping out to me like I’d hoped

The engine has produced some pretty cool stuff, if used well, that’s no bad thing

Sure, go after the studio that is consistently putting out good work, that makes sense

Executives are willing to do anything except take a pay cut for their own incompetence

The lineup looks fairly empty… but then again, that has happened a few times in the lead up to a direct, and immediately afterwards the lineup was stacked. With it being late in the switch’s life, I doubt there will be too many big releases, but I doubt the Callander will remain bare

These dev conferences can be interesting, and sometimes developers like to sneak things into them, so while you shouldn’t expect anything, it pays to keep an eye open

I’ve been actively avoiding freedom planet 2 coverage, because I’ve been waiting for a console port (I just don’t like playing games on my laptop) so here’s hoping it turns out good! It looks awesome

I rather enjoy the base game, a bite sized game priced more or less accordingly, that controls well, and leaves you wanting more.

And now, we are getting more! Sweet! And for free!
Can’t complain!

Ah, of course the part the higher ups get rid of is the ones who make sure the game actually works…

I like owning games for the simple reason that subscription services don’t last forever, and even when they are running long, they can remove a game at ANY time.

And if that’s a game you’ve sunk time and money into and it’s taken from you… we’ll, that feels like some form of robbery

That kinda makes sense. If Nintendo is full of “geniuses”, maybe a lot of them are like “absent minded professors”, really smart, create incredible stuff… and completely fail to recognise the blindingly obvious.

And Nintendo are masters of missing the blindingly obvious.

It is interesting that sales of COD are down by a quarter, and it still takes top spot.

I wonder if that makes it a success or not, sales wise?

On the bright side, unless there are surprise changes, spoilers shouldn’t be too much of an idea

I understand the reasoning behind making live service games from a financial standpoint. They can be a great source of money. As much as we hate them.

But what these higher ups don’t realise is that live service games require commitment. We can manage a couple of the ones we like, but there is no way we can keep up with every game if they were all live service. One or two may make money, sure, but there’s gonna be a bunch that will die out because not enough people can make the time to play them!

Even if the internet liked live service, we simply can’t keep up. It’s hard enough keeping up with one! It feels less fun and more like work in some cases…

TLDR, even if people liked live service, putting all your eggs in one basket is incredibly stupid

It’s quite the sales juggernaut!

Do sega have the ability to pull something like this off? Historically they’ve been too ambitious for their own good… will that trend repeat?

This is one of the only ways I could see Nintendo running ds and Wii U VC in the future.

Maybe not for a switch 2, but maybe the system after it?

My guess for its release date would be July. Pikmin 4 was revealed at the September direct and was released the following july. Both TTYD and pikmin 4 were the “big ticket” announcements of their respective directs, so i could see them both having similar release windows.
Admittedly, not the most foolproof of reasonings, but considering the release schedule, it could fit
