Wait, is the physical price higher, or is the digital price lower? Has the price been jacked up or brought down?

Returns got a 10/10 but tropical freeze didn’t? That does seem right…

I mean, the battles themselves are definitely fun, but for what is supposed to be the main way competitive Pokémon is played, it’s shockingly poor. I thought it looked choppy when it was first revealed, the cutscenes run horribly, the Pokémon textures are flat (scarlet and violet gave many Pokémon some pretty nice textures, those are gone).
Honestly, I think scarlet and violet ran better at launch, and that at least was an open world… what in the world is this games excuse?!

I suspected something like this might happen, due to this weeks music drop not happening at the usual day

It should ALWAYS have been cheaper digitally, because they don’t have to pay to manufacture and distribute a physical item

Is a scary world out there, with very little financial security. And the U.S right now is one of the most unstable places to live.
I’m sure the shareholders won’t be happy, but they never are unless their unsustainable expectations are met.

Surely it’s far too early with far too little information to make a prediction like that?

Much deserved sales milestone. I know people have valid reasons to dislike the Pokémon company, but credit where it’s due, Pokopia is good and deserves to be successful

Annoyingly, because one of the rooms seems to be a casino, my loco rating board have slapped it with ONLY THE HIGHEST AGE RATING they can without the game being pulled from sale.

I understand them wanting people under the age of 18 not to get involved in gambling, but that seems a bit extreme in this case

According to the “your local time” section, it’ll be on Friday the 28th… which is odd, because as I’m writing this it’s Thursday the 26th… I think the program has a error not accounting for it not being friday

It’s good. Not outstanding, there are a few things that they could easily have done to put it up a couple of notches.
(My personal biggest gripe is that they have recorded all these new voice lines and are STILL using the toadsworth voice lines from Mario power tennis. Come on guys, you can do better than that! At least in power tennis, it would actually say which character is serving on winning. I.e “Mario to serve.” But ever since MTO it’s been “game set match receiver”. It hurts even more because toadsworth isn’t even in the game. I don’t remember if they even credited Charles martinet for the voice lines)

@koopababble it all makes sense in the story of the game. You play as a bland hero of a storybook about a hero trying to slay a dragon, only when you arrive at the castle it’s been taken over by ever after inc, an organisation that has discovered how to enter books from the real world and put storybook characters to work. In an effort to free the book you live in, you sign up and work to bring the corporation down from the inside. Your job involves you going to other story books to perform whatever tasks the corporation has for you, and one of those books is based on a lovecraft novel (hence cthulu).
The world building is actually really good in this game, don’t dismiss it when you haven’t tried it. Lots of characters from “out of copyright” literature show up, little red riding hood is the receptionist, mother goose is an office busybody, Pinocchio is the weirdo at the office nobody likes, Dracula runs a clothing shop on the side, the big bad wolf is a wanna be musician… it’s bonkers, but it’s excellent stuff in practice, really quite compelling.

An excellent game, I had a lovely time playing it. Not gonna lie, not entirely sure how tricky timing windows and a fairly average length equates to docking two stars, but I suppose full marks was out of the question

Can’t play it yet, my copy hasn’t arrived. Don’t think it’s even been shipped yet… that’s annoying when you preorder something, you’d think they’d at least get it into the postal system by now

I will never understand people with money. Companies bend over backwards, drag their reputation through the mud just to make their investors happy, and they still can’t make them happy.

Bit of a mixed bag of an ost really, I don’t really remember it being all that good, but I think that’s because it’s best tunes are heard less frequently

It’s impressive, considering how my YouTube feed was flooded with “cross worlds is so much better than MKW”.
I mean, personally speaking, I think it probably is, but the impression that the game was wiping the floor with Mario kart is clearly overblown. That said, I think it deserves to be successful, it’s pretty good stuff! Some cool courses, a neat gimmick, good character roster, the customisation, there’s a lot to praise.

The game has five disks worth? Huh. Would be nice to hear it in game more often

Aww, they were a decent studio. Didn’t they do sly cooper 4 as well, or am I misremembering?

I mean, that’s true, but EA cops it for the scale of what they’ve done is why they cop it.
Now several other publishers have caught up, doesn’t mean EA has gotten better, just less bad by comparison

Still running at a profit, of course, but less than previous occasions. A completely unsustainable model, but they have the influence.

Yeah, I’m not surprised. Both Lego and Pokémon were prone to scalping already… combine the two and this was bound to happen

It’s nice to see it get nominated, it deserves it.
As for its chances of actually winning, I’d say that’s unlikely.
