Great game, fantastic battle mechanics, themes, music, loads of good stuff.
Although, a lot of the overworld level design is kinda… underwhelming. Lots of rectangular rooms with not much in them. Fortunately, the whole package more than makes up for it
Ooof, that’s not good. Not good at all. Can’t really play devils advocate on this one.
At least they got paid. But the fact that it may have prevented them from landing other work… yuck, don’t like that.
A few of Nintendos policies are… frustrating. But this one has directly hurt people who work for them. Hopefully speaking up about it will lead to a change in policy. One can hope
Whilst I do think AI can have its place as a supplementary tool in the future, (a tool, mind you, not replacing human labour, just assisting), the way some corporations are looking at it as a replacement for paid workers is not good in the slightest.
Nintendo’s slow to adopt anything policy is pretty handy in this case
I’ve noticed that the Robin Hood comparison has been used… one slight difference, robin hoods whole deal was giving the money back to the poor that it was taken from.
Say what you want about Nintendo’s pricing strategy, but I don’t think selling pirated software is in the same category.
And if you say “well robin obviously must have kept some for himself” then that kinda defeats the point of him being a hero. He did what he did to help the suffering population.
I really don’t think pirated copies of software can really count as helping those in need
Whilst I do believe remasters do deserve financial compensation, these things do take work after all… from the initial trailer, I’m not seeing what about this game deserves such a price tag. I think this will be something I pick up on discount.
I mean, at least Luigi’s mansion 2 has an online mode, those things can be tricky to get working. I’m not sure that makes it quite worth the price, considering Metroid prime was quite a bit cheaper, but at least it’s something.
It’s an odd topic, remasters. No one seems entirely sure how much they should actually cost.
@Lizuka that… would be an interesting choice… unusual too, ILCA are more associated with the Pokémon company rather than Nintendo proper.
(Please note, PMC is it’s own entity, it’s part owned by Nintendo but not flat out Nintendo itself, if anyone wanted to say “but the Pokémon company IS Nintendo)
So it would be surprising to see them working on it. Not an impossibility, but definitely unusual
There are some theories that next level might be developing the new Mario and Luigi game. No idea if that’s true or not, but if it is, that would explain why they wouldn’t be handling this port
Wow, that’s a weird stat… a multi platform game selling 100% on one console… I assume it must be either a 99.999% rounded up or the switch version had a big discount
I really don’t see how ANYONE benefits from this. Even Nintendo, what benefit do they get from this? Are they planning on releasing a sheet music book? That is literally the only way I can see them benefitting.
I wonder who at Nintendo is behind this? Are they aware of how counterintuitive this practice is?
I mean, I get going after Rom sites. But… sheet music?
I expect… something to tide us over until the successor. Nothing too huge, possibly a remake of something that will get people excited but won’t take away too much dev resources
Ttyd isn’t just the original game with increased textures. It’s been rebuilt, almost completely. The developers took about as much time to make it as they did making the origami king (a four year gap between entries), so many of the assets have been redone in that modern paper style. And so much new music.
People worked hard on it.
(If a new game appears within, say the next two years, then I will rescind this comment, because if that was the case, well, then this didn’t take as much work after all)
But a game like, say DK Tropical Freeze, where it’s just the original game with a new character and mild tweaks, well, that doesn’t warrant quite as high a price tag.
(Admittedly, they probably didn’t get the revenue they deserved the first time the game came out)

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Pledges To Never Charge Money For DLC Or Updates
Well, I appreciate the sentiment, but it’s risky saying something like this.
Could be an aged like milk comment in a few years
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Physical Pre-Orders Come With Reversible Sleeves
By popular demand? I wonder who was demanding reversible covers?
I’m not complaining, I’m just confused… can we popular demand other stuff too?

I think it’s more of a case by case basis
Re: Ex Chibi-Robo Devs Announce Spiritual Successor 'koROBO'
Kickstarter eh? While there has been some good stuff to come from it, it does warrant some level of caution
Re: 'Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club' Launches On Switch Next Month
I say, is it accurate to call it famicom detective club anymore?
Re: Sega Takes Legal Action Against Social Media User For Harassment Toward Employee
Be nice, be kind, be considerate. Not easy to do when something gets under your skin, but it’s something to aim for.
Deliberately attacking/cyber bullying someone is an absolute no no and should be dealt with accordingly.
I wonder what the harassment was even about?
Re: Spark The Electric Jester 3 Is A High-Speed Indie Platformer Dashing To Switch This Month
I wonder why Australia and Europe get the game a week later?
In this day and age, that’s uncommon.

It’s a me! Emio! Wahoo!
Re: Sonic Team Boss Really Wants To Make A New Sonic The Hedgehog RPG
I mean, the sonic universe certainly has enough story material to work with to make one. Just depends if they, y’know, don’t completely butcher it

Hey, at least Nintendo actually gave them a warning first. The fact they didn’t stop, well, it’s a bit harder to sympathise
If you’re going to do morally dubious stuff, Don’t do it on something that’s still on the market!

It’s very hard to tell at the moment

No real surprise there, it’s been doing very well for them of late.

@Lxlxrxzx sorry to hear that, but to each their own.
Me, I thought they was pretty good. The second one in particular, very much up my alley
Re: 'Tales Of Kenzara: Zau' Director Addresses "Constant Targeted Harassment"
I do think the word “woke” has become a buzzword that people throw about without entirely understanding what it means.
Like, what is so bad about treating everyone fairly? Because that’s what it should mean.
Sometimes something is labelled “woke” when it actually isn’t, because it’s gone too far in the opposite direction.
Just… be nice to people. It’s not that outlandish a concept, surely?
Re: 'Tales Of Kenzara: Zau' Director Addresses "Constant Targeted Harassment"
My word, that’s a concerning level of removed comments…
I think in many ways, a good portion of humanity has gone backwards in the way they treat these kind of things.
Like going after something because it has diversity that is completely appropriate? Good grief…
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Define 'Retro'?
How about this definition?
Retro: a system no longer being manufactured by the manufacturer (in its original lifespan, a re-release years later doesn’t count)
Re: Crash Bandicoot And Spyro Studio 'Toys For Bob' Is Now Officially Independent
Very smart move on their part, it enables them to work on what they want without some brainless executive deciding to shut them down on a whim.
And partnering with Microsoft means they can still make crash and Spyro games.
It’s genius!
(At least, I hope it is. Something could derail it, this industry is so destructive to its employees sometimes)
Re: Poll: Is $60 Too Much For Nintendo's Switch Re-Releases?
