I took this survey, I am so, so paranoid that I ticked the right boxes. Because a big reason paper Mario had that big shift was because of survey results that I can only assume the developers took the complete wrong way.
So I hope I ticked the right stuff, if I missed one out, maybe they’ll think “right, better get rid of that part”
I wonder if this means there’s been a supply issue, like a delay in shipment to these stores? Like, if these preorders are being posted to customers, maybe they won’t get the units in time to ship them to customers, but they will get them in time to stock on shelves?
However, if this issue is more widespread than Walmart and Amazon, say… it happens everywhere, then I’d assume Nintendo are doing it deliberately.
Game companies have been doing a lot of shady stuff, but I’d still like to hope that things like this are incompetence rather than malicious. Of course, if it is a scummy move, I will be rightfully unhappy about it
@pneumaticgnosis well, yes, twitter is gross. We had a terrorist incident here in Australia, where someone was stabbed and the footage was shared to twitter, and despite the government asking to take it down (because why would you keep that kind of thing up?!) twitter has been refusing.
Say what you will about censorship, I think that’s pretty gross
I wouldn’t expect endless ocean to be a big seller, I recon it’s a pretty niche title.
Certainly better than 5/10, but it just isn’t going to appeal to everyone.
I would assume Nintendo don’t think it’s gonna be particularly large, the fact that so many people didn’t even realise it was a Nintendo title at all because of it being in a partner showcase probably means there ain’t much hype around it.
So, with low sales expectations in mind, I hope it meets them!
I recon Nintendo decided to announce this direct so far in advance (by direct announcement standards) because they probably realised “our investors are gonna start panicking because we have nothing with an actual release date beyond June”.
Investors have been know to panic at the drop of a hat made out of lighter than air gas, meaning it didnt actually drop in the first place
I don’t have a clue what to make of this. It could be horrifying, totally normal, not terrible, anything. I’d need to be more in tune with what actually goes on within Nintendo, and as they are not particularly public with what they do behind closed doors, I shall have to live in ignorance for the time being.
Which I can deal with, life be miserable enough as it is, I can survive not having another bubble burst
I’d say this is a quality title but it’s just not going to click for everyone. On a face value level, it’s a series of very basic levels, but the game comes together for me as a package. It has a lot of charm which sells it for me, but I can also see it not working for others.
@PessitheMystic because the people don’t always give an accurate appraisal.
Like people will be like “Zelda totk is averaging 9.3? I only think it’s a 7.”
But instead of giving the game a 7, they give a 0 to bring the average score down.
So you get less of a picture of what the game is actually like. You might get a picture that parts of the community might be Mad about something, but sometime the reason might be something that isn’t even the games fault, like “someone working with this publisher who had nothing to do with the guys who developed the actual game has been accused of doing a naughty, give the game a zero!”
That sorta thing. Metacritic can be a good guide under normal circumstances, but any hint of drama and it can fly out the window
@iLikeUrAttitude well, it is absolutely gorgeous, and if you like the gameplay, it is massively replayable. Obviously, photography may not appeal everyone, but if it grabs you, new Pokémon snap is utterly incredible. It’s even got voice acting!
I don’t think cafe remix can be objectively better than masters. Having played both, at least with masters you can play more than five minutes without waiting for your pathetic energy reserves to replenish.
@Heartless666 then why do people expect Nintendo to pump out ports of older games on switch online with new online functionality so quickly and then get annoyed when they have the audacity to charge money for it?
I ain’t complaining about a game arriving a day earlier… especially if you preorder it from an online store. More likely to arrive in the before the weekend

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door?
Dunno, haven’t finished it yet!
Re: Site News: Suggest Questions For Our Upcoming Switch Summer Survey
What is your opinion on the battery life of the console?
Is it intolerably short? Short but manageable? Or do you not notice?
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Has Apparently Leaked Online
This happens almost every time a game has some measure of excitement behind it. Barely news worthy at this point
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door For Switch?
Why is there no “well duuuuh” option on this poll?

Re: Nintendo Acknowledges That Successor Announcement May "Impact" Switch Sales
It’s nice to see Nintendo acknowledge that hitting their sales target won’t be easy. Hopefully means they aren’t resting on their laurels

Uggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I hate arguing over stuff like this
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Endless Ocean: Luminous
If anything, this tells me what I thought of all along: namely this is not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, it will probably rather niche.

But why not, I suppose?
Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Sales Reportedly Surpass Five Million
Fantastic news! I remember early on people were saying it wasn’t selling well, but 5 mil, that’s pretty good.
Fantastic game, I love it to bits.
I must do, I went through the torture of 106% completing it. Still one of my proudest achievements
Re: Saber Interactive CEO Doesn't Think $70 Video Games Are Sustainable
@Arkay do you mean games that are 2d platformers or just have 2d artwork? Either way, there can be a ton of work put into them

@datamonkey maybe, but it probably coincides with reports of management that has absolutely no idea what they are doing.

@Croctopus I mean, one person can kill a LOT of people. We’ve seen that proven time and time again in American schools. Better safe than sorry

I ain’t gonna get my hopes up, but it is nice to know they haven’t entirely forgotten about it.

Or stupid. Or both.
Which makes sense. These days a lot of the greedy/suspicious decision companies make are also stupid
Re: Sega Sells Relic Entertainment And Announces Layoffs Across Multiple Teams
And another, ladies and gentlemen! Do we have any more bids? Anymore bids on making this year absolutely abysmal for game developers?

And no, it’s not because the people that say it’s good are stupid.

That is one of the only good things about Ubisoft, it doesn’t take long for them to put their games on sale, and quite significantly in some cases
