@pneumaticgnosis well, yes, twitter is gross. We had a terrorist incident here in Australia, where someone was stabbed and the footage was shared to twitter, and despite the government asking to take it down (because why would you keep that kind of thing up?!) twitter has been refusing.
Say what you will about censorship, I think that’s pretty gross
I wouldn’t expect endless ocean to be a big seller, I recon it’s a pretty niche title.
Certainly better than 5/10, but it just isn’t going to appeal to everyone.
I would assume Nintendo don’t think it’s gonna be particularly large, the fact that so many people didn’t even realise it was a Nintendo title at all because of it being in a partner showcase probably means there ain’t much hype around it.
So, with low sales expectations in mind, I hope it meets them!
I recon Nintendo decided to announce this direct so far in advance (by direct announcement standards) because they probably realised “our investors are gonna start panicking because we have nothing with an actual release date beyond June”.
Investors have been know to panic at the drop of a hat made out of lighter than air gas, meaning it didnt actually drop in the first place
I don’t have a clue what to make of this. It could be horrifying, totally normal, not terrible, anything. I’d need to be more in tune with what actually goes on within Nintendo, and as they are not particularly public with what they do behind closed doors, I shall have to live in ignorance for the time being.
Which I can deal with, life be miserable enough as it is, I can survive not having another bubble burst
I’d say this is a quality title but it’s just not going to click for everyone. On a face value level, it’s a series of very basic levels, but the game comes together for me as a package. It has a lot of charm which sells it for me, but I can also see it not working for others.
@PessitheMystic because the people don’t always give an accurate appraisal.
Like people will be like “Zelda totk is averaging 9.3? I only think it’s a 7.”
But instead of giving the game a 7, they give a 0 to bring the average score down.
So you get less of a picture of what the game is actually like. You might get a picture that parts of the community might be Mad about something, but sometime the reason might be something that isn’t even the games fault, like “someone working with this publisher who had nothing to do with the guys who developed the actual game has been accused of doing a naughty, give the game a zero!”
That sorta thing. Metacritic can be a good guide under normal circumstances, but any hint of drama and it can fly out the window
@iLikeUrAttitude well, it is absolutely gorgeous, and if you like the gameplay, it is massively replayable. Obviously, photography may not appeal everyone, but if it grabs you, new Pokémon snap is utterly incredible. It’s even got voice acting!
I don’t think cafe remix can be objectively better than masters. Having played both, at least with masters you can play more than five minutes without waiting for your pathetic energy reserves to replenish.
@Heartless666 then why do people expect Nintendo to pump out ports of older games on switch online with new online functionality so quickly and then get annoyed when they have the audacity to charge money for it?
I ain’t complaining about a game arriving a day earlier… especially if you preorder it from an online store. More likely to arrive in the before the weekend
I mean, I remember back in high school people complain about a song that was a couple of months old because it was too old, so I can see where this is coming from
Well, that’s the dictionary definition of “a decision made by clueless executives”. Like, live service can make money, but it is very, very hard to get to a point where it is serviceable in terms of earning money. So, so, sooo many live service games are dying. Even some that people actually like. They aren’t the ger rich quick ticket execs think they are. Like any game, they need to be appealing and well made, and most importantly, there needs to be people that want to play them.
Which is why ignoring the voices of the people who actually play the stuff is mind bogglingly stupid.
Now, if the emulator was something that Nintendo doesn’t make anymore (the 3ds isn’t being manufactured, but it’s still fairly recent.) I understand why the public would be upset.
But the switch is still on the market. Right now. And whilst there will be those that use it that have bought copies from legitimate sources, you know full well there will be some using it without having paid Nintendo a dime. And that is not defendable.
Like sure, GameCube emulators, fine. But current software emulators? That’s a no no. Wait until the system is no longer supported before going down the emulation route.
Nintendo still won’t like it, and you would still be running a risk, but you are considerably less likely to get the force of the law on you than a modern, in development system
