Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Demo Now Available On The Switch eShop

Alpha008

I played the demo, and it was “yup. I’m sold”.

And it’s weird, because I really don’t understand why I enjoyed it as much as I did. Like, it’s incredibly simple, and yet, I’m definitely buying it.

I am confused, but not complaining. I like enjoying things, even if I’m not sure why I’m enjoying them

Re: Warner Bros. Doubles Down On Its Commitment To Live Service Games

Alpha008

Well, that’s the dictionary definition of “a decision made by clueless executives”.
Like, live service can make money, but it is very, very hard to get to a point where it is serviceable in terms of earning money.
So, so, sooo many live service games are dying. Even some that people actually like. They aren’t the ger rich quick ticket execs think they are. Like any game, they need to be appealing and well made, and most importantly, there needs to be people that want to play them.

Which is why ignoring the voices of the people who actually play the stuff is mind bogglingly stupid.

Textbook clueless executive decision

Re: Switch Emulator Yuzu To Pay $2.4 Million To Nintendo & Cease Development

Alpha008

Now, if the emulator was something that Nintendo doesn’t make anymore (the 3ds isn’t being manufactured, but it’s still fairly recent.) I understand why the public would be upset.

But the switch is still on the market. Right now. And whilst there will be those that use it that have bought copies from legitimate sources, you know full well there will be some using it without having paid Nintendo a dime. And that is not defendable.

Like sure, GameCube emulators, fine. But current software emulators? That’s a no no. Wait until the system is no longer supported before going down the emulation route.

Nintendo still won’t like it, and you would still be running a risk, but you are considerably less likely to get the force of the law on you than a modern, in development system

Re: Electronic Arts Lays Off 5% Of Its Workforce

Alpha008

Well, that fits the bill. The other companies In the same vein as EA have been laying off, so EA probably saw that and said “oooo, what a good idea!”

Gotta make more profit than last year after all. Profit is not enough. It’s gotta be a bigger profit than last year.

Re: Poll: So, Have You Finished Pokémon Legends: Arceus Yet?

Alpha008

@Sisilly_G I wasn’t expecting remakes of another gen, say 5, until generation 10, simply because apart from the remakes of red/blue and gold/silver, they’ve been coming two generations apart from each other. The remakes have come in gens 3,4,6, and 8. Admittedly a small sample size. And while remakes could still come this gen, I would expect gen 10 to be more likely.

Unless you count let’s go as a remake, of course, which means there was one in gen 7. But you could look at that as a sub series, or a one off, we don’t know at this point.

Re: Pokémon Presents Announced For 27th February 2024

Alpha008

Please note, these presentation are predominantly updates to existing games and events, with maybe one, possible two main project announcements, so please temper your expectations. The most interesting announcement will most likely be at the end, almost everything before that will probably be updates regarding cafe remix, unite, and masters (which, y’know, is good for the people who play those, and they do exist) as well as presumably details regarding the next world championship, and probably some new show or shorts. These cover the entire Pokémon brand, not just main switch releases, so temper your expectations accordingly
