Re: FBI Shares Official Statement After Seizure Of Major Switch ROM Site

Justify it all you like, it’s still theft. It’s taking something you don’t own without paying for it. Maybe it’s something you wouldn’t have been able to have otherwise, doesn’t matter. It’s still taking something you don’t own.

“But it’s the only way I can get it!” Well, I apologise, that does genuinely stink. It does, and I’m sorry. But it’s still taking something that doesn’t belong to you, and that shouldn’t be normalised. You’re not being Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to feed the poor, your just stealing from the rich.

Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update

I mean, there are so many different routes that you never see in any of the grand prix’s or knockout tours, not to mention different course variants that can only be played on depending on which direction you’re coming from. It means there’s a good chance you’ll race on something new, it certainly helps the slight tediom of running on a course you aren’t a fan of over and over again.

And to be clear, 3 lap races do still show up, I’ve tested it. It means online racing has quite a variety. I rather enjoy the intermissions (so many shortcuts, oh, those are fun)

Whilst this news isn’t ideal, once again it’s being blown out of proportion as a lot of things are.

Re: Poll: Have You Won Knockout Tour Online In Mario Kart World Yet?

Alpha008

I’ve won more knockout tours than regular races, and I think I’ve figured out why.
I’m not the best racer, I can win a match on my day, but most of the time I’m more in the middle of the pack. I’m fairly consistent in avoiding the bottom four. And because avoiding the bottom four is how you stay alive in knockout tour, I can usually hang in there. And if you survive long enough to get to the final four, we’ll, there’s only three people who can hit you with items instead of 23, which means your less likely to get slammed by a ton of items heading into the finish line (which is usually what happens when I’m having a decent regular race)
So if you manage to make the final four, you’ve got a decent shot at winning, which is how I’ve managed to get a few under my belt

Re: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Has Sold 10 Million Copies Since Launch

Crash Team Racing, one of the most “oh, I didn’t realise how deep the mechanics of this game actually get” game out there.
Like, you can play through it as a newbie and have a good time, but you’ll probably be “I don’t see what people are raving about it for.”
The thing about this game is that is has a waaaaaaaaaaay higher skill ceiling than most other kart racers. You can turn the hardest CPUs to mincemeat and still be miles off from the best players out there.
The key mechanic this game has that can transform it completely is that through skillfull driving, timing your power slide boosts correctly etc. you can basically drive over a boost pad, and maintain that level of speed the entire race. It takes a lot of skill to master, but the speeds you can blitz through some of the courses is pure N.sanity.
And it having an adventure mode is always a plus, Mario Kart still hasn’t done one of those (please do).
You can tell I love it, but sadly, it’s best days are behind it. Shortly after launch it had 8 month long seasons of challenges, new characters (including some deep cuts, Mario kart please take note) and a brand new course each time, as well as making changes according to community requests, things the game didn’t need but it was nice to have.
I imagine the online scene must be fairly dead these days, and the few matches you do find will be between experts, so you have no chance of beating them.
(You can actually drive so fast that this games equivalent if a blue shell can’t catch them)
