Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Producer Can't Discuss DK's Future Just Yet, But Is Relieved After Fan Reception

mlt

I thought the game was good but I really hope they're not going to use this concept in the future.

I'd rather they try a proper 3d platformer next time or even better just do a brand new DKC game. Bananza was fun but 50% of the time it does not even qualify as a platformer per say. Instead of that it's mainly a destroy everything from point A to point B simulator, which is what I feared it would be and it turned out it was the case unfortunately. As I've said it was better than I anticipated though because it definitely has moments of fun here and there but, yeah it is absolutely not up to snuff when compared to the legacy.

Also the art direction wasn't good overall and not having David Wise for the music was a mistake and a very surprising one I might add. How exactly they came to the conclusion that not having him was okay really is beyond me.

Re: Best Super Mario Games Of All Time

@USWITCH64
Yeah I think that's the thing though. Nintendo also considers Yoshi's Island as a Mario game and the Yoshi series as a separate thing. That explains why they never really tried to make a successor to the original. Well there is Yoshi's new island or whatever the DS game is called and it's definitely okay but not the level of effort that would be needed to even come on par with the classic game. It's a bit sad really.

NSMBU still criminally underrated.

Also Galaxy 2 is better than 1 and 64 should definitely be ranked higher.

Also I can understand why 3d world is being included as the switch version but objectively the switch version of NSMBU is not better than the original, rather the other way round.

Re: Review: Mobapad Chitu2 HD Controller For Switch 1 & 2 - Almost Beats Nintendo At Its Own Game

@Vyacheslav333

There they are. It's a great pad but the central part is sold separately. The comment in this review about the clickiness of the buttons is also true for these and the features are pretty much the same, gyro nfc and HD rumble are all there and work as expected, they have great hal effect sticks and they are compatible with NS2 except if you want to attach them to the NS2 you need adapters. The 2 octogonal and circular stick bases (1 for each joycon) and the 2 dpads are all included with the controller. I've checked and the brand new M12 joycons don't seem to have the option for interchangeable stick base so if you really want this feature the M6hd are a better option.

@Misima
Quite a lot of people consider the + shaped d-pad much better than the circular one.

@Vyacheslav333
Something I absolutely loved about mobapad M6 HD joycons for switch 1 (and 2 thanks to adapters) is that you could change the faceplates to have either octogonal or circular basis for BOTH sticks. And that's on top of the option to change the traditional dpad for a circular one just like the chitu2 here. I bought a central part for my M6 HD (from nixy actually, but mobapad also has a central part of their own) so that I can attach them together and actually use it mainly as a controller and not attached to the switch. Love them. I'm not sure if the new M12 (the switch 2 equivalent that just came out) still have this feature though.

@ArcticEcho
Yes they exist. Mobapad released joycons that gave you that option. They're awesome.

Re: Poll: So, Which Starter Will You Choose In Pokémon Winds & Waves?

mlt

I typically don't play Pokémon. I've played like two games in the whole series from start to finish and they were Blue and I believe it was X not Y but yeah one of these two. They were quite good but it simply never was a priority for me and now that I have even less gaming time I'm not starting now.

THAT BEING SAID. If I ever play these I'll definitely start with Browt. Look at this expression on his face he looks so serious/jaded he is awesome. And also good batch overall.

@Olliemar28
Hey there there's just a couple things I was wondering about. First how are the motion controls in general ?

And also and most importantly is it possible to have the Y axis inverted for the camera AND the motion controls NOT inverted at the same time ?

It wasn't the case for RER1 and 2 which made the motion controls pretty much unusable for inverted gamers. Has this issue been solved here?

looking at the picture of the Wii U Pro controller

Dude look at this beauty.
I don't care what anyone says this is still the best shape and button layout for any controller ever. So comfortable. So nice for 2d and 3d games alike (as in dpad focused and twin stick games alike).

I dream of a perfect controller to end all controllers, the shape and button layout of the WiiU Pro with the plastics and buttons of the NS2 Pro.

That would basically be the NS2 Pro and the WiiU Pro having a baby. I keep leaving those two in the same drawer at night hoping they would socialize and maybe something could happen but no luck so far. I don't get it they're both so smart, nice and sexy.

Re: Review: Virtual Boy For Switch 1 & 2 - Is It Really Worth Revisting Nintendo's Greatest Folly?

mlt

This should have been improved upon, not just replicated.

It's okay to admit the VB made many things wrong Nintendo. You do mistakes Nintendo and it's okay, you're not god.

Thw two biggest mistakes imo : no headset and no controller. I would have loved a VB controller. Why is this console the only one that is not getting its NSO controller? Also as people have said, if you bought a 64 NSO controller once the service is down you still get to keep a cool controller that's already compatible with pretty much anything under the sun. The VB though? Once the service is done all you have left is useless plastic and pretty big at that.

Re: Feature: Nintendo's New App Reminds Me Of A Universal Truth: It Feels Good To Squash Mario's Face

@Lynel_Richie
I agree it's one of these instances where Nintendo does not really align with its own "we care" reputation they like to pretend they have.

We know for sure that interactive screens are a detriment for developing brains as you said. Some say no screens AT ALL before three. That said, for a bit of fun with mom or dad here and there and as long as it is accompanied by the adult and not just leaving the kid with a screen in hands, then I guess I'd rather stretch Mario's face for a couple minutes with my boy and have a laugh rather than showing him something that is not appropriate.
