Re: "It Was A Bit Of A Perplexing Experience" - Hideki Kamiya On The Fan Reaction To Bayonetta 3

@MasterGraveheart
Fans loved the rather clear implication that she was gay and kind of hated when it turned out she was bi. At the end of the day the creator is going to have control over the characters he wants to create. Also even from a realistic standpoint just like there is no purity of the heterosexual couple that would be the end all be all, there is no sexual orientation that cannot change or evolve and if people believe there is they are kind of missing the point. The fact that they want really hard that a character becomes an icon of their condition doesn't really matter.

The whole thing reminds me of Other M tbh.

People just didn't like Viola and didn't like the ending so they found other stuff to complain about.

And well it turns out the ending is great and Viola is awesome so yeah maybe don't listen to hardcore fans too much they'll make your game about one thing and one thing only, always play the same game after game, unapproachable and they'll make you write a scenario that looks like a fanfic.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Box Art Officially Revealed For Switch 2

Okay the construct is absolutely definitely Link.
I'm not sure I like that. I mean how would it work with TotK's story? Maybe it's just ancient hero DNA infused in that thing and not actual TotK Link?

EDIT : wait, is there even an ancient hero at this point in the story? We don't know where it sits in the timeline, if the ancient hyrule in TotK is situated before Skyward Sword, there hasn't been a hero yet.

@The-Chosen-one

Oh if it's Fi embodied on the other hand I'm absolutely going to lose my sh**

Re: Mario Movie Domain Names Surface Online Ahead Of Mario's 40th Anniversary

mlt

I loved the first movie so whatever it is I'll gladly check it out.
Now when it comes to games, I like the Galaxy franchise, but in terms of gameplay I would like them to at least keep some of the exploration found in Odyssey.

Honestly they can go whichever direction they see fit. I trust them, but they shouldn't forget about older/more skilled gamers who love Mario. Bring more challenge to the franchise in general. Not just the couple last levels of a game, make challenge more prominent I general.

Re: Opinion: Silksong's Tight Construction Is Exactly What I Need After Too Much Open-World Loafing

It's also got me thinking I need to download Dead Cells again, y'know. I need to get back into Cave Story, and a bunch of other quite challenging platformers that I shrugged and put down because it was easier to stick Assassin's Creed on and spend two hours avoiding everyone while I tried on new outfits. What a fool I've been.

Welcome back friend

EDIT : hum does anyone know how the quote blocks work around here. I'm pretty sure it used to be [q] but it doesn't seem to work. I ended up using italics and bold. It does the job I guess.

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 12th September 2025

@the_beaver
Yep! All of those basically. Resident Evil and MonHun, FF and DQ! What is Monolith Soft working on? What is up with first party beyond Beyond? What about that Gamefreak game? Kid Icarus Uprising HD when? Conker anyone? Okami 2 and on that note what about Bayo and Astral Chain?
So many questions

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

mlt

I don't have the game yet but what I understand from people being unhappy with the difficulty is that they mean to say not everything needs to be darksouls. And even though Dark Souls was a clear inspiration to the first game, the first game was NOT dark souls either. And some gamers might consider it was part of its charm that it wasn't.

Re: Video: We've Played Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2 - Here's 16 Minutes Of Gameplay

mlt

Well there you are, it works fine.
Texture pop in and object pop in is a concern though. Though I see no mention of it here in the comments.

It goes to show that there is subjectivity at play with these things. The GVG guy might be particularly bothered or distracted by fps issues. For me it's pop in and it has always been. I don't mind occasional fps drops here and there or even I couldn't care less about texture quality, this I found out I really don't care about. But I'm watching this video and all I see that could be a problem for me is texture/light and object pop in. So maybe that GVG guy is not actively trying to push an anti switch agenda or whatever some crazy people come up with.

Re: Anniversary: The First DS Castlevania Game Turns 20 Today

mlt

All hail OoE, that game finally got the credit it deserved all along.

For the record when it released it was considered the worst of the bunch because it was deemed too hard. Now the only thing too hard about this whole notion is the way it makes me laugh, but hey that's how it was and I even remember ign I believe writing an article about it.

Dawn is still an excellent game of course and so is Portrait but Order is something else.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Dig Button Placement Is All Thanks To Miyamoto

mlt

Okay here is my hot take.
I like when not all of my games play the same.
I enjoy Bananza and BotW button placement, I instantly fell in love with traditional MonHun and I adore that Metroid 3 uses A to jump and X to shoot.

I would never change those because I like that there is actually a layer of adapting to the game and learning to play it. It adds to the fun for me. I also like to think that when someone makes a game and takes a decision that goes against years of convention about how to use buttons on a controller, it's probably not a decision that's taken lightly and there's probably a reason behind it. I like to try to understand such thought process.
