Re: Nintendo Download: 11th December (North America)

You're telling me Terminator 2d is really going to land this week? I'll believe it when I see it.

More seriously I hope the game is good and I'll be waiting for reviews but it is part of my Christmas list. Also I hope the Tomba remake is good and if it I might bite a bit later down the road simply because it is such a nice and weird little thing that any platformer fan should at least try.

Re: A New Tomb Raider Entry Has Leaked Ahead Of The Game Awards

The artwork kind of looks like what a crossover between post reboot young Lara and old school Lara could be. So I'll give them that. But I'm more interested in what the gameplay could be. I'd love them to take the series back to what it was before, a 3d platformer that is.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Two Classic Platformers

@Suketoudara
To play with a standard controller Perfect Dark / golden eye should be set to 1.2 in the in game proposed control schemes and then there is a couple things to swap, the two sticks for example and a couple buttons but it's pretty simple

EDIT :
here it is :

  • in game control scheme set to 1.2
  • swap the two sticks, L becomes R and R becomes L
  • map ZL (shoot) to the ZR button
  • map L (aim) to the ZL button
    And there you go you're playing with standard fps controls. That being said I like just playing with an N64 controller better since you can still feel that the stick sensitivity implemented in the games at the time was really made for the OG controller. To be absolutely perfect with a standard controller the emulator should allow you to adjust stick sensitivity. That's the one missing feature on NSO imo. But it's still perfectly playable as is with just the button swapped. I've said it before but the only game that is really unplayable without the official N64 controller is Jet Force. For this one we would need even more options than I think any emulator can reasonably have. Basically it's the only game that really needs nintendo to just go ahead and code a custom configuration for it. Which I don't think they will do unfortunately. Still an excellent game though. I wonder if it would work with your 64 pad. It probably would since it seems to have all the inputs just in a slightly more modern set up.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2 GameCube Library With Wario's 3D Outing

One of the very few games that I still don't own for my GC collection. Wario World, Fzero GX and Chibi Robo, and they're all on NSO now !

I think I'm covered for the rest of it. Yes I even have Doshin and Air Ride.

As for Treasure, I love these guys, and I hope we are getting Mischief Maker soon!

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.4.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

You can now adjust the music volume!

Finally! How is this not in the original release of course we've got to mention it but still it's nice that it's being added.

I'm starting to wonder if MKW wasn't rushed out to release alongside the console which is kind of a crazy thought since most people assumed it was in development since forever, but seeing this kind of stuff I'm not so sure.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form

mlt

I've seen people mention the lack of depth in terms of secret rooms and stuff like that. But let's be honest there, these were never in the 3d outings. None of the prime games have the depth that can be found in Super Metroid or in Dread in terms of secret rooms or passages.

Also I've seen people complain about the ending. We'll see but there again people don't seem to know what they want with Metroid endings. Dread is too much and prime 4 is not enough, go figure.

I personally like the more muted endings for Metroid. Not everything needs to end with the galaxy exploding or the rules of the universe being turned on its head. Metroid already have a tendency to make planet explode a little too easily in my opinion. Dread's ending is my only nitpick about a nearly perfect game with its crazy genetics shenanigans changing Samus's appearance making her look like a Marvel super hero or something along these lines that should not be crossed. In my opinion Metroid are military missions on smaller scales. When the story / mission is done, it's done and that's it. No need to linger. So if you're telling me Prime 4 has a simple ending then I'm all for it.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team

mlt

I hope they're going for a who's the traitor kind of narrative à la Other M. It's something I really like about it.

Now of course nobody is talking about this aspect of Other M because everyone is too busy being astonished that a lone bounty hunter who's left her friends and basically her replacement for a family, would develop feelings toward another life form who's attached to her to the point that it gave its life for her.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles

@Grumblevolcano
Conker is my absolute number one wanted game for NSO. I wonder if they'll release it. It's absolutely a major game, I'd would hate it if it remained some kind of anomaly in the history of Nintendo.

Also in Kid Icarus you jump to jump and in Battletoads there is a variety of variations of levels. Can't wait to rescue from the rescue. The best though is that the pit moves vertically and horizontally depending on the stage.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd November)

mlt

That's Mario's Super Picross and Ocarina of time for me on the retro front. Also I'm slowly making my way through Star Wars Outlaws . It's quite good. And I'm still chasing costumes and p switches in Mario Kart World, which I'm not ashamed to admit I've mainly played driving around on my own in the open world for now. It's great but I do think I should get into the races themselves a bit more.

Re: Game Of The Year Nominee Donkey Kong Bananza Wins Critics' Choice Award

@OmnitronVariant
This is exactly my feeling. Well I wouldn't be that harsh, it's still a good game and I'm having fun with it, but I agree it makes me feel out of touch. If this is a sign of Nintendo to come I'm not super happy with it. And the strangest thing is most people seem to welcome it saying it's an excellent platformer, when for me it sometimes, like 50% of the time, barely qualifies as a platformer.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby Air Riders

mlt

If, however, you want to play an irritating, formless, racer that’s simultaneously overcomplicated and far too simple then Kirby Air Riders is the game for you

Haha that actually makes me want to buy the game even more
