I mean the SNES was home to so many actually good platformers. It really is its mediocrity that allowed Bubsy to still be remembered to this day while so many other hidden gem platformers were forgotten even though they were much better games. The irony of it is part of the joke of course.
I completely trust this team will craft the first really good Bubsy game. This is such a weird timeline where we're allowed to write this kind of stuff but hey bring it on I say!
@SuntannedDuck2
Don't you dare say anything bad about my boy Jazz!
I love this game! It's awesome. It's brilliant. It's one of those I bought on sale years after its release played for an hour and and just yelled at my screen why haven't I bought this earlier and why haven't I given more money to the creators of this incredible piece of software by paying full price. I was such a fool.
Tank controls you mean? Yeah no thanks. I personally started really enjoying RE with 4 and for good reasons.
That being said, I don't enjoy them but I still definitely 100% agree that they should be made easily accessible for preservation sake and for those who like them.
Now we have to consider though that they can't reasonably leave Hyrule field the way it is. They will have to expand on it significantly and that would probably Breath of the wildify Ocarina if you will. After two open world games they can't have you riding Epona on such a small and bland area.
I mean South of Midnight, VF5, Kena, Elden Ring, maybe Duskbloods depending on what it actually is. Adding to that Zelda, Rythm Heaven and it's a pretty nice year overall.
Starfox though. And a brand new game at that. FREAKING STARFOX now that's legendary!
Others have said it here but the clever move for Ninty clearly is the NS2 lite. Undercut everyone and give an alternative to your own susceptible to raise model in a single move.
They need to add roll or yaw options for gyro aiming in portable mode.
And also let us customize portable and TV mode motion controls independently at least for roll/yaw and sensitivity. As it is it's fine for TV mode but it requires to lower the sensitivity every time you play in portable mode and then the other way round when going back to TV, and it lacks roll/yaw and it just happens to be set to the one I can't stand.
I personally love it better than quite a lot of other things in life. It's the best console since the SNES and I dare say the first real evolution of what console gaming actually is since the Wii.
What was the issue with FFXII? It's a game I'll definitely get to replay at some point, one of my favorites, and I'd like to do so on the NS2 please especially with boost mode.
I really like what these guys do in general. I have both the NES30 Pro and the SN30 Pro and they're both awesome controllers. In fact the SN30 Pro is one of my favorite controllers ever.
That being said I. I'm also a 64 junky and I would die for the OG controller and its crazy shape I just love it to death. So not really interested there but I trust the brand.
Pikmin are from the real world. Just like Mario. There are passage ways between the real world and the mushroom kingdom. So Pikmin can travel between worlds just like Mario did.
100% lore accurate lol. I mean as much as lore accuracy is an actual concept that really bothers nintendo which is really not much as we all know. But yeah it does make sense.
When a single console has super Metroid, Mario World, Zelda 3, Chrono Trigger, DKC 1-3, Mario Kart, street 2, axelay, earthbound, secret of mana, FFVI... and so many more. There's not much anyone can do against the almighty SNES.
I thought the game was good but I really hope they're not going to use this concept in the future.
I'd rather they try a proper 3d platformer next time or even better just do a brand new DKC game. Bananza was fun but 50% of the time it does not even qualify as a platformer per say. Instead of that it's mainly a destroy everything from point A to point B simulator, which is what I feared it would be and it turned out it was the case unfortunately. As I've said it was better than I anticipated though because it definitely has moments of fun here and there but, yeah it is absolutely not up to snuff when compared to the legacy.
Also the art direction wasn't good overall and not having David Wise for the music was a mistake and a very surprising one I might add. How exactly they came to the conclusion that not having him was okay really is beyond me.
@USWITCH64 Yeah I think that's the thing though. Nintendo also considers Yoshi's Island as a Mario game and the Yoshi series as a separate thing. That explains why they never really tried to make a successor to the original. Well there is Yoshi's new island or whatever the DS game is called and it's definitely okay but not the level of effort that would be needed to even come on par with the classic game. It's a bit sad really.
Also Galaxy 2 is better than 1 and 64 should definitely be ranked higher.
Also I can understand why 3d world is being included as the switch version but objectively the switch version of NSMBU is not better than the original, rather the other way round.
(Also, as an aside, I don't think it makes sense to strike for over 11 months to get enforceable AI abuse protections and then turn right around and go back to work without them.)
There you go, excellent thinking. Shame on Capcom for this.
I have to admit it looks way more interesting than I thought it would be. That being said I think I really should abandon all hope that they would one day release a successor to Yoshi's Island, still one of the best 2d platformers ever.
@Ryu_Niiyama Does the story come to a satisfying ending though? I kind of hate when games don't finish their stories and just go like see you next time even though in most cases they're not even sure there's going to be a sequel.
@tblal Okay I didn't know where exactly they changed the way they do it. That explains why I love the N64 dpad so much. I swear looking at how few games on that console actually use it, that dpad has no right to be this good.
Man I love this game. The occidental one lacks the line drawing of the Japanese one but the composition and the background, basically everything else is just so much better.
There they are. It's a great pad but the central part is sold separately. The comment in this review about the clickiness of the buttons is also true for these and the features are pretty much the same, gyro nfc and HD rumble are all there and work as expected, they have great hal effect sticks and they are compatible with NS2 except if you want to attach them to the NS2 you need adapters. The 2 octogonal and circular stick bases (1 for each joycon) and the 2 dpads are all included with the controller. I've checked and the brand new M12 joycons don't seem to have the option for interchangeable stick base so if you really want this feature the M6hd are a better option.
@Misima
Quite a lot of people consider the + shaped d-pad much better than the circular one.
@Vyacheslav333
Something I absolutely loved about mobapad M6 HD joycons for switch 1 (and 2 thanks to adapters) is that you could change the faceplates to have either octogonal or circular basis for BOTH sticks. And that's on top of the option to change the traditional dpad for a circular one just like the chitu2 here. I bought a central part for my M6 HD (from nixy actually, but mobapad also has a central part of their own) so that I can attach them together and actually use it mainly as a controller and not attached to the switch. Love them. I'm not sure if the new M12 (the switch 2 equivalent that just came out) still have this feature though.
@ArcticEcho
Yes they exist. Mobapad released joycons that gave you that option. They're awesome.
