Wow. I really wonder what happened there. What kind of direction were they going for that required to start again from scratch? DQ is a very formulaic and traditional licence so were they going for something completely different? Or quite the contrary, was it a very traditional game and they decided to turn it on its head? They seem to imply it was the tone that was darker and is now more traditional but at the same time they speak about never before seen features for a DQ game. Intriguing.
I've never been a fan of James Bond myself despite my parents making me watch the films when I was a kid. It's nice to see the game is good though. I might get it at some point.
I like EU better though they all have their merits to be honest. I like the more impactful and bolder US one and the more original and minimalist JP one. EU has the best art and composition though. Plus it has everyone's favorite plumber so that's got to count for something.
Oh wow!
I hope they make it more accessible than Kingdom Come, it's Middle Earth after all and it's bound to be more mainstream. But yeah, great news! Let's see if a NS2 version is in the cards.
@Ralek85
Thanks a lot for the lengthy answer!
I see it's something I would absolutely adore. The question is do I still have time for this kind of game. That being said I loved DS1 and 3 and also Bloodborne of course, but that was in another timeline with less work no baby and more sleep. Oh well who am I kidding I'll probably get it at least to make a basic playthrough. And I mean I know myself, my "basic" playthrough will probably end up being me going off the beaten path after 10 minutes or so.
Nice. I'll check if there is an option to make the fairy portrait smaller. Or even deactivate it mind you. And also deactivate her voice without deactivating the rest of the voice acting.
Everything in this game seemed awesome to me except for that damned fairy. So. Incredibly. Annoying.
I remember when they sent a poll for people who tried the demo. I made a couple gameplay suggestions and also I suggested that you could ask your fairy to just go back in Elliot's travelling bag basically so that would give players the choice to deactivate her from the game entirely. I also suggested different fairy companions with different personalities, some of them calmer and less talkative. Of course that would be more voice acting work so that was not likely. I also simply asked for an option to deactivate her voice.
I know it seems like a lot but I just hate that character stereotype and that particular voice acting so much.
@ChromaticDracula
Cross Code is fantastic, give it a try. It's basically a 2d a-rpg with twin stick shooter mechanics for combat. It also has quite a bit of challenge. It was compared to Mana a lot and I think that's a bit misleading. It does look like it a little but it does not FEEL like Mana at all. It's a lot faster and more inspired by modern open world online rpgs in its structure. But it is still very good it's just that it really is its own thing and that's good too.
I regret that the octogonal stick basis that was an option for the M6 aren't there anymore. You could swap between circular and octogonal very easily for both sticks.
Other than that this looks great and I absolutely love my pair of M6 for my NS1. That being said I'll probably wait for a feature complete version before I buy new mobapad joycons, but when I do so I'll probably go with Mobapad if the option exists.
I absolutely can't wait for this, thanks for the preview! It gives me massive GB Mystic Quest aka Seiken Densetsu 1 vibes and I am definitely here for it!
@Ralek85
Thanks for the description, I've tried it a couple hours and I see it's not a ubisoft or basic rpg checklist kind of open world. If anything it is way more inspired by Zelda and a lot of people have called it Souls of the Wild or things like that.
Is it very long though? Like, I'm sure there are tons of things to do and it's very replayable but how long is a first playthrough that does not explore the whole map but has a good look at a reasonable amount of what the game has in store?
Comparing it to the Pro 2 is a little odd. Especially since the Pro 2 is known to be one of the absolute most comfortable controller ever.
Comparing it to the joy con 2 grip though might be a bit more fair, though even then I gotta say I'm very happy with the grip and find it absolutely fine to hold for long sessions and definitely miles ahead the joy con 1 grip.
I really did not care too much about 1 and 2. They kind of happened and that's that. Which is the impression we get from most game movies anyway. They release, they make money or don't, and nobody cares about them.
And it ended up being the worst of the New series! For me at least. Well maybe tie with 2 but definitely much lower than the console games.
I really liked Wii and U and think U in particular is on par with the older Mario games. Also in terms of challenge it is also better than Wonder so I love Wonder but there is at least this one area in which U was objectively better.
Can't wait for these! Well if I'm honest I don't know if a huge open world title like Elden Ring is really for me as I already have a pretty big NS2 backlog and less gaming time. The Duskbloods looks like good fun though, even if I still hope for some kind of solo content.
I am SO happy that Capcom is back on Nintendo this gen. I hope they're here to stay. Honestly if a gaming console had just Capcom and Nintendo content I would still be probably happy with it.
It's just so sad that a developer who made one of the very best 2d games ever has to lay off people. I hope they will soon work for Nintendo again so that they get another opportunity to make good money.
I hope those who are losing their jobs will soon find a way to get back on their feet. I swear this industry is not doing well.
It's probably been said already but it would have been cool to also have the Assault designs in the poll as they are surprisingly quite different and probably more so than you remember.
Fox is the first Amiibo I bought years ago. My niece broke it while playing with it and the hand was cut off. I glued it back on and it's now as good as new! Anyway love that little thing.
I am SO happy they did not go with Fox's look from the movie. The new look is everything I ever dreamed of for this franchise! It's insane. The kind of move that reminds me why I love nintendo.
My god the artstyle is AWESOME! It's what I wanted them to do but I thought they would just rely on the usual cartoon style that is honestly a bit boring since everyone have been using it since LoL pretty much.
It's so good, I'm loving it! A little bummed that it is yet again a Lylat Wars remake though but hey that's brand new and it exists so that's definitely something.
Uh excuse me how is it possible that Fate of the old Republic ends up in the 5th position? So, okay it's not very likely though we don't know that, we don't know anything about it. But still when it comes to what I WANT, I definitely want that one!

What an excellent game that was. Very nice blend of action and horror. Great gameplay, looks beautiful on Switch 2. Just awesome.

Cyberpunk and Indiana Jones for me. Great ports of excellent games!

So here's a question. People here mention how you can REDUCE Faie never-ending comments. So okay but can you just shut her up?
The option might be in the new demo though I should give it a try.

Re: First Silksong, Now Mina The Hollower Is Causing Other Indie Devs To Delay Their Games
Somehow I didn't know about this game, it looks rather awesome!
Also Mina being the new game from the guys who made freaking Hollow Knight, one of the biggest indie darling ever, well yeah that's understandable.
EDIT : Shovel Knight of course. Not Hollow Knight, silly me.
Great. Now I want a crossover game.

Re: Elden Ring And The Duskbloods Still "Expected" To Release On Switch 2 In 2026
@AussieMcBucket
No but we know it's a PvPvE game which sounds like an online multi-player game to me.
Knowing past From titles chances are it is some kind of more developed version of Dark Souls' multi-player component.
