Re: Talking Point: So, What Are Your First Impressions Of Splatoon Raiders?

citizenerased

Octo Expansion was a masterpiece, and I had a blast with 2 and 3’s story mode, as well as Side Order. So I was very pumped for this.

I’ll second the environments being drab and disappointment about the seeming lack of platforming challenges. I do like the idea of exploring and crafting. Cautiously optimistic, hoping Nintendo once again has 95% hidden.

Re: "What's This Stupid Thing?" – How One Silly Idea Became The Jet Set Radio-Inspired Denshattack!

The Denshattack demo is 🔥.
Apart from Splatoon Raiders probably the game I'm looking forward to most this year, from what's been announced and confirmed anyway. It's like if someone took Olli Olli World (rip Roll7), Sayonara Wild Hearts, Thumper and Tony Hawk Pro Skater, mixed it in a blender and dressed it up like a Japanese Jet Set Radio Future.

Regarding the "trains are awful in the UK" note, have things gotten that much worse? I took about a dozen trains in the UK 15 years ago and don't remember many delays or bad experiences.

Re: Holy Moly, The Eternal Life Of Goldman Is Looking Really Darn Good

@axelhander 100% how I felt, sadly. The manual equipping thing is really annoying, the dialogue was endless and unskippable and I didn't find the level design, obstacles or enemy patterns to be well-designed either. They can fix a few of these things before or after launch, I guess. I did like the boss battle, and thought the game was one of the prettiest I'd ever seen.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th December (North America)

Having a good time with Rogue Prince of Persia, definitely recommended if you want a game like Dead Cells but with PoP's acrobatic platforming. I do recommend The Lost Crown over it though, that's straight up my favourite 2D action-adventure since Hollow Knight.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time

citizenerased

I've skipped plenty of re-releases due to overpricing (DKCR, RDR1) but... not gonna lie, as far as I can recall Galaxy 2 is my favourite 3D platformer of all time and I've been wanting to replay it really badly, so I'll probably pony up the €40. Sorry. Replaying Galaxy for the 35th collection was absolutely magical so I think it's worth the price for me.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?

citizenerased

Hoping for a big first party reveal and maybe a port of Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Other than that, happy to be surprised. Between Mario Kart, Bananza, Silksong, Metroid and a huge backlog I'm happy with 2025, but I'll take some 2026 games.

Rayman 64 and Rayman 2 on the Nintendo Classics, please. And I'll take a Galaxy 2 remaster (still my favourite 3D platform game) for Mario's 40th.

Re: Feature: 32 Games We're Dying To See On Switch 2

Seeing how I’m playing only on Steam Deck and Switch 2 I’d love any port that doesn’t run well on the Deck right now. Clair Obscur is the most obvious example. Ninja Gaiden looks cool. Voted for Hi-Fi Rush even though I beat it because it’s fantastic.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Gets An Eight-Minute Overview Trailer

I'm trying to watch less of games these days to not get spoiled as much, because the surprise is so much better when you see things in the game. I've managed to only watch the reveal trailer so far, but I did listen a couple of previews. It's hard not to watch every single thing when you're excited for a game.

Re: Former Rockstar Dev Throws Shade At Mario Kart World, Says New GTA Will Be Worth The Price

@Chlocean Couldn't have said it better. I appreciate what Rockstar is doing and the amount of detail in their games is stunning. But I actually bounced off GTA V and RDR2 pretty hard several times, I just wasn't having fun. I don't think I've had fun with a Rockstar game since RDR1 and Bully. With Mario Kart I know I'll be having a ton of fun.

@Ashunera84 I do think the trailer does a great job of highlighting the amount of detail you can expect in the world, which I feel is the main selling point of modern Rockstar games. Not just visually, but the way they've made the world come alive.

@Jhena Playing devil's advocate a bit, how is stomping goombas in Mario different from shooting rival gangs in GTA?
