@the_beaver
BotW owes a lot to the AC series for sure, climbing freely is a game changer. But whereas BotW blends ideas from Skyrim, Minecraft, Red Dead Redemption and adds a bunch of ideas of its own (god I love that chemistry engine), Immortals feels like Ubisoft told its AC studio "let's get as close to BotW as we can, gameplay-wise". Check out this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSuMZyCWqLQ

It does an admirable job, it's a good game, but it's clearly derivative from one source. Definitely looking forward to what the team does next, they only had 2 years for Immortals, after all.

@meeto_1 There's lots of control options, thankfully.

@Yanina I can't speak for others but I didn't pick up Link's Awakening because it doesn't have enough content. Nintendo gets away with pricing their titles whatever they want because they're not available elsewhere. Not saying that's fair, but it's pretty clear EA is only releasing $60 Switch games so they can take full advantage of the sale-trick on the Eshop. You're welcome to buy it full-priced at launch, of course.

@andyc777 In Color Splash I had no idea why I would even battle enemies anymore. They just dropped more cards to do more battles, etc etc. I started avoiding battles altogether. I got to the bit with the timed haunted mansion, where I failed to do all the tasks I needed to do in 30 minutes so the game reset my entire progress. I then closed the game, I couldn't believe they actually put that in a game: a required timed quest that the game doesn't tell you about.

Alternative take on this game: It's impressive, but 30 hours in, I'm not having fun with it.

It has fantastic lore, it's beautiful and the quest lines are amazingly written. But none of the actual gameplay feels satisfying to me, including the combat and the Witcher senses. The overworld is a bore to explore without markers. As someone grown up with Nintendo's gameplay-first mantra, the game's not working for me.

I am glad it's selling well, though. Bring everything to Switch. Plus new games.
