Re: Review: Overcooked 2 (Switch)

Some of the moving kitchens in Overcooked 1 were a lot of fun, because you got to move them yourself for example (space levels). The ones that were worst were the ones that changed without giving any indication they were going to, and then completely ruin your chances to get a 3-star rating.

I did beat the original game all the way but I felt like some poor levels, the harsh star requirements and the occasionally inaccurate controls (which thankfully has been fixed in 2) soured what would otherwise be a 10/10.

Played a couple of levels this morning, it looks like they made some solid improvements.

What I didn't see right away but I was really hoping they'd add is an endless mode or something that lets you do a ton of different recipes (focusing on cooking and cooperation rather than level obstacles).

Gotto agree with @Damo that art style really isn't working for it. Feels so early 2000's edgy with cheap DeviantArt character design and poor animation to boot. Since the Switch has an insane library and I've got a 70+ games wishlist, it's a pass from me.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

@dkxcalibur if balanced playtime between handheld and docked is required to keep the Switch intact, Nintendo should’ve clarified this in the manual. Also, those screen protectors won’t help against shell cracking issues.

The blind Nintendo defending in this thread is messed up, but not unexpected. How about the fact that Nintendo’s asking for €100-200 to get this fixed?

17% answering Yes in the poll is a ton, the fact that Nintendo is still charging people €100-200 to get this fixed (yes, really) when it’s obviously a design flaw is ridiculous. I hope the mainstream media picks up on this and Nintendo is forced to do free repairs.

My Switch’s crack is also near the power button, the corner is chipped away and it’s so bad the screw is no longer screwed in so the back panel actually comes partially off. No way I’m sending it in until cloud saves are a thing, though.

EDIT: Also, thank you for reporting on this, NintendoLife!

Watching videos of this, it just seems incredibly charming and full of details. It might just be a little bit of a case of style over substance, but I may very well pick it up anyway.

Twilight Princess reveal. It was one of the first E3s I followed live, they showed exactly what everyone wanted and the audience cheers were just incredible. It’s not one of my favourite Zelda games, not even in the top 5, but that reveal is a masterclass.

Lately Nintendo have been getting way better at giving people what they want (with a twist) but there’s no beating the magic of a live stage presentation. That being said, there’s also no lows like talking about sales data for 30 minutes.

Re: Review: The Adventure Pals (Switch eShop)

@JKRiki Google reveals plenty of pages mentioning "Super Adventure Pals" from way before 2010 (even pages in like 2007), so I wouldn't jump to any conclusions.

Maybe the creators of Adventure Pals would comment on it, but at the very least thing this has been in development for ages and has plenty of original charm, no matter the origins.

In any case, we haven't had a great Adventure Time game yet, so if this is an Adventure Time ripoff... it's really the first universally acclaimed Adventure Time title. Yeah there's a couple of mobile games with pretty-decent reception, but most of those have the depth of minigames.
