Hyper Light Drifter is amazing, great soundtrack and combat system. Great cyberpunk atmosphere and storytelling through absolutely 0 text. Highly recommended for its original price, a no brainer for $10. Unless you dislike difficult games.
@EdScissorshands Turns out Good Job is developed by Paladin Studios, a Dutch indie team. So it's like The Stretchers: published by Nintendo, developed by indies.
Are you guys not going to post a news article for Good Job, a brand-new Nintendo-published co-op game about the boss' son, physically wrecking a company while doing menial tasks and failing upwards in your career? Easily the most exciting game of the bunch.
This'll be the best arcade racer on the Switch, then? Hope they make a new one at some point. Wish they'd add splitscreen multiplayer, something absent from tons of games from the PS360 era.
Alternative take on this game: It's impressive, but 30 hours in, I'm not having fun with it.
It has fantastic lore, it's beautiful and the quest lines are amazingly written. But none of the actual gameplay feels satisfying to me, including the combat and the Witcher senses. The overworld is a bore to explore without markers. As someone grown up with Nintendo's gameplay-first mantra, the game's not working for me.
I am glad it's selling well, though. Bring everything to Switch. Plus new games.
Derpy Link is funny. Lots of people are so serious about their Link. Do you remember what he ends up looking like in the remake? Derpy Link is perfect for this game.
@Ralizah I'm so close to getting Fire Emblem as well. I've even got a voucher and a ton of time to play right now, but I'm making my way through my backlog.
@NinjaWaddleDee Hit the nail on its head, KISS are very popular in Japan, they definitely designed the pokemon after rock musicians. Sure, having a Ringo Starr-lookalike British pokemon would've been even cooler, but I'll take it.
Great games! If you like metroidvania and colourful games and you have somehow missed this, I highly recommend them. There's also a combat system that's quite a lot like Smash Bros which is surprisingly fun.
No one's mentioning Spirit Tracks yet, which IMO is easily better than Phantom Hourglass because it doesn't have the giant boring stealth dungeon you have to do over and over again.
Also: GTA Chinatown Wars is one of my favourite GTA games.
Oh, and I played Meteos so much it permanently marked my touch screen with vertical swipes.
Probably just clearing some backlog for me, although like so many others I've got my eyes on Astral Chain. I don't do pre-orders though, I'll wait for reviews.
@Heavyarms55 Right on the money, it's dead commercially but not in the households.
A eulogy for the 3DS:
The 3DS is dead, long live the Switch. It's the passing of the torch and the 3DS can be proud of both its lineup and its sales. RIP double-screened little wonder that could. Thank you for all the Zelda titles.
The reviews on this are pretty middling (like 65%), but I'll take more 3D platformers anytime I can. Hope there's a resurgence of those as indie developers become more experienced and the tools become more advanced.
Can anyone talk about what exactly makes this worse than the other Super Monkey Ball titles? Because I've always been interested in the series but never played any of the games. Looking up a review, it still looks pretty fun!
People mostly seem to be complaining about the gyro controls, but I'd say this is likely to have analog control as well.

Re: Good Job! Is A Brand New Puzzler From Nintendo, And It's Out Now On Switch
Probably good to note that while it's published by Nintendo, it's actually developed by Paladin studios, an indie team based in the Netherlands.
Love the social satire in failing upwards through your career because you're the boss' son.

Re: Eerie 3D Platformer Pumpkin Jack Will Haunt Your Switch Next Halloween
Looks cool! I definitely want more 3D platformers, although most end up being okay-at-best.
Re: Sonic Movie Speeds Towards $65 Million In Its North American Opening Weekend
I wonder how much it would've been if they went ahead with the original design.
Re: Review: Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition - A Surreal And Superlative Point-And-Click Adventure
I'm 100% picking this up, it sounds exactly like the sort of thing I've been looking for since Night in the Woods. Sadly didn't care for Oxenfree.

Re: Over 150 Switch Games Discounted In Nintendo Cyber Deals Sale (Europe)
Definitely get Thumper with 75% off! One of my favourite Switch games.
As for me, Cadence, Skyrim, Ni No Kuni, Gorogoa, Horizon Chase Turbo, Wandersong and Lego Harry Potter are all maybes.
Re: Level-5's Snack World Is Finally Making Its Way To The West
Fantasy Life Switch port next, please
Re: Yes, The Sonic Movie Redesign Was Led By Sonic Mania Animator Tyson Hesse
How cool is it that we live in an era where the talented fans get to work on their dream franchises.

Re: Video: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Gets A Shiny New Gameplay Trailer
Bit odd that they're going from 50 minigames in the original, to apparently 10 now?
Re: Nicalis Hosts Switch eShop Sale, 12 Games Discounted For A Limited Time
The "now everything is normally priced" Nicalis sale
Re: Hands On: We've Played Witcher 3 On Nintendo Switch, And It's A Work Of Magic
@suikoden Aren't there any bows or other things that use the aiming reticle?
Re: Hands On: We've Played Witcher 3 On Nintendo Switch, And It's A Work Of Magic
"nor are there any motion-sensitive additions"
This is the only bummer so far. I really hope they add gyro controls.
Re: The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Gets An October Release Date On Switch
Here's 40 minutes of gameplay that do the game much better justice:

Looks surprisingly good to me!
EDIT: Ha, @friedtofu beat me by a 4 seconds.
Re: The Touryst Will Bring Blocky Adventure To The Switch Soon
I wonder if it's (partially) procedurally-generated?
Regardless, it looks great!
Re: Rumour: The Time-Bending FPS Superhot Might Be Getting A Switch eShop Release
As 500 others have noted, please have gyro/motion controls...
Re: Nintendo 'Indie World' Showcase Announced For Monday 19th August
Untitled Goose Game. Untitled Goose Game! Come on!
Also, I lowkey like these nindies as much as actual Nintendo Directs now! If I look at my Switch library it's about 50% Nintendo, 50% indie.
Re: Tetris 99 Teams Up With Fire Emblem: Three Houses For Special Grand Prix Event
@Ralizah I'm so close to getting Fire Emblem as well. I've even got a voucher and a ton of time to play right now, but I'm making my way through my backlog.
On-topic: hope it's a cool theme with good music!
Re: "Cute-As-Heck" 3D Platformer A Hat In Time Comes To Switch This October
Game looks fun, price is right... but I've heard of some performance issues on PS4 so I'll wait for reviews, as per usual.
Re: Video: Is It Possible To Score The Maximum 999,999,990 Points In Super Mario Maker 2?
This is a cool video, but those of you don't want to watch a 12 minute video to see the highest-scoring level in action, just skip to 8:19.

Re: Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition Officially Announced For Switch, Release Date Revealed
Definitely interested in this, we need more 3D action adventures on the Switch.

Not mentioned yet either: Wario Ware Touched
Re: Review: Forager - A Delightful Fusion Of Stardew Valley And Harvest Moon That You Should Own
I dig this Joys/Cons thing at the end, very nice if you want a summary but more than just a rating.
Re: Video: 13 Fantastic New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In August
Probably just clearing some backlog for me, although like so many others I've got my eyes on Astral Chain. I don't do pre-orders though, I'll wait for reviews.
Re: Astral Chain Lead Composer Shares Samples Of The Game's Electrifying Soundtrack
Platinum Games always writes these awesome blog articles, it's so fun to see how indepth their reasoning and thorough every decision has been.
Re: Deals: Starlink: Battle For Atlas Starter Pack Drops To A Ridiculous £10.99 In The UK
This game's really repetitive. I can't really recommend it despite the gorgeous graphics, Star Fox and space exploration.
Re: Free Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board Challenge Pack Available To Switch Online Subscribers
@HobbitGamer Awesome, thank you! I kept getting messages about not being able to collect items because I already had 99 of 'em.
Re: Switch Is Getting A New Shooter Based On The Zombieland Movies
I've always wanted to play as Jesse Eisenberg... said no one, ever.
Re: Free Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board Challenge Pack Available To Switch Online Subscribers
@HobbitGamer You can sell Shuffle Alls etc? Where?

Re: Zelda: Wind Waker-Inspired Summer In Mara Delayed Until February 2020
Good, it looks promising but there's a ton of polish left if the video is anything to go by. Animations are looking a little rough.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (Europe)
Playing Mario Maker, Octo Expansion and Lego City Undercover, so not picking up anything this week.
If the reviews for MUA3 are really, really good I might get it. But I don't think they will be.
Re: Famitsu Confirm Rumoured Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD For Switch
@NorseGamerTommy It has 50 party games, of which apparently half are good. Not a bad number.

Re: Nintendo Hosts Huge Summer Sale, Up To 70% Off Over 180 Games On Switch And 3DS (Europe)
@Ventilator Thank you! Already in love with Treasure Tracker and Fast RMX, so I trust your judgement regarding the other 2!
Re: Nintendo Hosts Huge Summer Sale, Up To 70% Off Over 180 Games On Switch And 3DS (Europe)
@Ventilator Good to hear you've already played it! Got any recommendations for games that have flown under the radar?
Re: Nintendo Hosts Huge Summer Sale, Up To 70% Off Over 180 Games On Switch And 3DS (Europe)
@Ventilator haha wow, 40 games! Have you picked up Yoku's Island Express? Great game and 50% off right now.
Re: Nintendo Hosts Huge Summer Sale, Up To 70% Off Over 180 Games On Switch And 3DS (Europe)
Skimming through my wishlist, I'm gonna pick up Octo Expansion (30% off) and A Robot Named Fight (80% off, only €2).
I'll also seriously consider the oft-praised Mario + Rabbids, Wandersong and a bunch of others.
I wasn't planning on buying any games this month...
Re: Review: Child of Light: Ultimate Edition - A Painterly Action RPG Which Still Shines Four Years On

Re: Bethesda's Pete Hines Says "It's Clear" The Studio Is Bringing New Players To Switch
@Bunkerneath Read the article, mate. They're playing the Bethesda games before anything else on the Switch. Which means they bought the Switch primarily to play DOOM on the go, and then buy Breath of the Wild later on.
Re: Bethesda's Pete Hines Says "It's Clear" The Studio Is Bringing New Players To Switch

Re: Rumour: Czech Retailer Lists The Witcher 3 Switch For A September Release
@sarcasmasquach Thanks! Still fully expecting this to be €60/$60 but if it's 50 like this price suggests, that'd be awesome.
Re: Rumour: Czech Retailer Lists The Witcher 3 Switch For A September Release
Can anyone confirm if 1550 Kc is a full-priced release? I'm guessing it probably is.
