Re: Nintendo Switch And 3DS Blockbuster Sale Starts Today, Up To 60% Off Top Games

Oddly enough, the 3DS deals are pretty good! Fire Emblem Awakening is still 40 Euro here new in store, and 30+ Euro secondhand. So I'll probably pick it up for 30 digital. Same story with Majora's Mask.

Does anyone know if Child of Light has had its framerate fixed? It's not listed as part of the deal but it's 50% off and I remember loving that game.

Also, if you haven't played Rayman Legends yet, you owe it to yourself. 15 Euros is a good deal on the second-best platformer on the Switch (Tropical Freeze is #1 obviously).

Re: Feature: The 50 Best Nintendo Switch Games So Far

I've bought about 50 games on Switch (25 are on NL's list). My top 10:

1. Breath of the Wild - obv
2. Hollow Knight - might be better than Super Metroid
3. Thumper - insanely intense rhythm violence
4. DKC Tropical Freeze - might be the best 2D platformer ever
5. Super Mario Odyssey - almost as good as Galaxy 2
6. Hyper Light Drifter - so badass
7. Furi - just my kind of game
8. Night in the Woods - best written game I've ever played, and hilarious
9. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - obv
10. Overcooked 2 - such a good time playing this with the gf

Honourable mentions to Rayman Legends, Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad, Guacamelee 2 en Celeste. I could go on and on: the Switch is such a fantastic platform. I recently even found out that the wishlist caps at 200; now I can't add any more games.

EDIT: I just noticed the list is incorrect. Night In The Woods has an 8.2; way higher than the 7.6 userscore of Pokken.

EDIT2: Oh you only count games that are rated 50+ times. That's lame, kinda makes it a "most popular games" list rather than best-rated list.

Re: Review: Dead Cells (Switch)

I'm seeing framerate issues pop up on various sites and threads, bit weird that this isn't covered in the review especially given how unforgiving the game is. Apparently the developers have commented they'll only patch the game if enough people complain? Odd.

As for the IGN debacle, they handled it well, let's not celebrate that someone lost their job, though.

Some of the moving kitchens in Overcooked 1 were a lot of fun, because you got to move them yourself for example (space levels). The ones that were worst were the ones that changed without giving any indication they were going to, and then completely ruin your chances to get a 3-star rating.

I did beat the original game all the way but I felt like some poor levels, the harsh star requirements and the occasionally inaccurate controls (which thankfully has been fixed in 2) soured what would otherwise be a 10/10.

Played a couple of levels this morning, it looks like they made some solid improvements.

What I didn't see right away but I was really hoping they'd add is an endless mode or something that lets you do a ton of different recipes (focusing on cooking and cooperation rather than level obstacles).

Gotto agree with @Damo that art style really isn't working for it. Feels so early 2000's edgy with cheap DeviantArt character design and poor animation to boot. Since the Switch has an insane library and I've got a 70+ games wishlist, it's a pass from me.
