@the_beaver Well, Splatoon 3 has exploration single-player and Salmon Run. Raiders appears to be Salmon Run gameplay with progressive exploration. Nintendo often don't include everything in the trailers so I'm happy to wait and see.

So it looks like it's single-player Salmon Run. Hopefully there's a lot more to it than shown in the trailer. I would have preferred something more like the original single-player campaign.

Nintendo maybe should have kept it hidden, but I strongly disagree with the idea that NintendoLife should have hidden it. Anything that's officially announced is no longer a spoiler, and keeping it hidden just loses them traffic to other video game sites.

They could fix this instantly with reversible covers. They're literally printing both sides anyway, just put a clean cover on the other side.

I don't see any reason why that text needs to be on the front, it's obvious what it is. If it's a game key card or a code in box then sure put that on the front, but this text could be on the back and no one would care.

Wonder was loads of fun but they'll have to include a lot of content to make me buy a £20 DLC.

@Mathieu_B Silksong saves work between both editions so I don't expect Hollow Knight saves to be any different.

So a bunch of visual upgrades that you'd only notice by comparing the versions side by side and have no gameplay benefits.

@dew12333 It's a huge game made by a tiny team, it seems reasonable to me that when they release to 3M+ new players they would find some previously undetected bugs.

These are only the same kind of glitches that games pre-internet would never have fixed.

Did Nintendo specifically state open world? Or is everyone just making assumptions based on that trailer? It doesn't look all that open to me. The bridge collapse in particular looks like traditional Metroid gating.

Loved Metroid Dread, not sure about Prime. Arguably all the Prime games are "open world" so this one is a wait and see.

Is it common to have no pre-order for games these days? I hope nintendo remember to pre-scale the servers...

@Smithicus Hollow Knight's kickstarter had a stretch goal for Hornet as a playable character. Instead of adding Hornet to the original they made an entire new game, Silksong. But because Team Cherry are honourable they are giving all kickstarter backers Silksong for free (as if it were just Hollow Knight DLC).

Having a Wii U game as the best thing on Switch 2 is pretty terrible.

The trailer just makes the controls look so unpleasant. Like I need to play with arms outstretched over a desk! I think the idea is that you can use the joycon mouse mode pretty much anywhere and the movement required will be much smaller, but this trailer does such a bad job of showing that!

This feels a lot like they are going for a Rocket League style game. They are going to have to do a lot more work to sell the gameplay though.

So this is going to be the major first party release for August? Or there's something else?

I think we don't yet know if the price increase will have an impact. The console price was around the expected level, and early adopters were always likely to suck up a price rise. We already have some initial comments that third parties are disappointed with sales, which is probably largely a pricing issue. MKW was bundled so DK Bananza will be the first test of whether people are ready for a £20 jump in the price of a major Nintendo title.

It's pretty obviously a copy-paste error. The whole station is Switch 2 ads and some of the others have the same "out now" label. It just accidentally got copied to this one.

I don't get why people think she doesn't look 13. This is a cartoon character so she obviously doesn't have realistic human proportions. 13 years old is very much a child, a typical 13 year old does not look like an adult (or even what we might normally imagine as a teenager).

It's crazy how bad the official cameras are.

@RiccyBobby Lots of webcams do work, but some don't. You'd have to do some searching to find out if the specific model you want is going to work.

@joey302 You can keep them downloaded but you need to use virtual game cards to transfer between consoles. It's pretty painless.

Nintendo's own support are not very competent. I sent a Switch in with a noisy/broken fan and they said the mainboard needed replacing because it was overheating! Well naturally if the fan is not working! I asked for it back unrepaired and replaced the fan myself - it's worked fine for 4 years since.

As stupid as it is to deliberately puncture the box that's absolutely terrible packaging design to have the screen protected by only a single layer of cardboard.

@joey302 No, everything stays on your Switch 1 except a handful of games where the save data is removed after transfer.

@Dev-N Yeah, it's annoying you can't choose not to transfer the games where you can't keep the save data on both consoles.

@Medic_alert You can stop downloads individually by archiving the games, I don't know if there's a way to do that in bulk though.

@Ellie-Moo You can do a system transfer to Nintendo's server, then store it there until you buy a Switch 2.

@Ryu_Niiyama if you have the physical game on Switch you would still need the physical game card to play on Switch 2. Virtual game cards are only for digital purchases.

It's clear that a huge amount of dev time time has been put into this game. I don't see why it "should" be free. It might be a nice thing to get for free, but saying it should be free is nonsense.
