@Keman They're stills from a marketing video, not someone's mobile phone photos. This isn't a leak as such, just a 3rd party accessories company who claims to have a Switch 2 (or the precise 3D model of Switch 2)
@HalBailman I think a March release of Switch 2 with a cross-gen Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title is still feasible. But your timeline with Spring MP4 and an Autumn Switch 2 release does seem likely now.
@BulkSlash There's a ribbon socket visible on the CPU image. I would assume they are all on that side since there will be more space on that side where the heatsink will sit. The side we can see in the main photo will be up against the screen.
You're right about the cartridge slot - that will be less repairable.
I wonder what we could have had if nintendo had just made the N64 a disk-based console in the first place. Splitting the userbase with an oversized expensive add-on was never a good idea, but the disk-based games could have been exceptional.
@dequesi It's rare and powerful, but it's not actually that rare. The BBC's £30,000 estimate is way over the top. Looks like these sell for a few hundred dollars.
I assume legally speaking, Nintendo is the creator of TLOZ, not any specific individuals. They won't want to be paying out royalties to people who don't directly work on the game any more.
The only thing that makes me think it might be real is the bare mainboard. The rest is just 3D prints that would be easy to fake. And even then I don't get what stage of prototyping would involve half a case and a bare board? If you are just testing the format you wouldn't need a PCB. If you are testing the build you would want a working interior.
@NintendoWife All their portable devices? No. But the Switch - yes! Current Switch is already too big to fit in a pocket. Moving to an 8" screen would be more comfortable to use, and not make any difference to portability.
Nintendo has to be really careful with the price. PS5 Pro is not their main competition. Their competition is just general entertainment of all kinds. People won't just spend out on more of the same but with better graphics.
I always thought "quality" vs "performance" modes were just a hack to allow for better-looking marketing. "Performance" is what should be released, but "Quality" lets them claim better visuals without needing to worry about pesky things like gameplay.
I understand the appeal of a replica cabinet, but this tiny thing just seems useless. It's so small you have to use external gamepads to actually play the game comfortably. Surely the point of an arcade cabinet is that you get play standing with a full sized screen and proper arcade controls?
Zelda without the gameplay is just a collection characters in a fairly basic scenario. They're going to have to come up with a very good storyline to make a movie work.
@TR4KERZ Switch has sold almost 10x the number of Wii Us. That means if Nintendo continue the same success with the next console it will sell over a billion units!
I'd prefer if they were working on the next Zelda. 5/6 years between games means it'll be at the end of the next console's life as it is, without another year's delay due to DLC for this one.

Re: Analyst States That Switch 2's Price Won't "Really Matter" For Early Adopters
If the console is higher priced I don't really mind. Much more significant is if games are going to be £59.99 RRP regularly
Re: Silksong Fans Think They've Narrowed Down The Big Announcement
@theedazza "a mate who's played it"
The demo was over 5 years ago. They could have written an entirely new game since then!
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch) - Aping A Retro Classic
Even Prime Remastered was overpriced given that the whole Trilogy was £18 on Wii U. This is just taking the mick.
Re: Switch 2 'Indentations' Make It Incompatible With Original Switch Dock, Says Genki

Re: Nintendo and Lego Are Collaborating On A New Game Boy Set
@nukatha Maybe they wanted to announce it early to avoid leaks
Re: Genki Claims The 'Switch 2' Joy-Con Can Be Removed By 'Brute Force'
You can remove original Switch joycons with brute force, but I wouldn't recommend it!
Re: Tech Fans Have Gone Full 'Layton' In Analysing The 'Switch 2' Motherboard
@rjejr Yep, this should definitely be in the rumour category and not news. Title should be "...motherboard leak".
Re: Nintendo Switch 2: Everything We Know About Nintendo's Next Console

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: Everything We Know About Nintendo's Next Console
Everything we know about the Switch successor:
There will be an announcement (not necessarily a reveal) by the end of March.
It will be backwards compatible with Switch software (not necessarily hardware)
Everything else is speculation and leaks.
Re: Rumour: Supposed Images Of The 'Switch 2' Motherboard Appear Online

Re: Balatro Developer Calls Out 'PEGI' For Its "Weirdo" 18+ Rating
Any game with real-money randomised loot boxes should be 18+.
But PEGI are massively inconsistent. Nintendo's "51 Worldwide Games" is rated 12 specifically for gambling, so why is Balatro any higher than that?
Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation

EDIT: Actually the US times are also out by a day since they say "Wed"
Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop
I never even use the eshop. I discover games via gaming sites and I buy games via the Nintendo website.
Even if the eshop were fast and easy to use I don't see why I would. I'm never going to buy a game just based on a blurb and some screenshots.
Re: N64 Controller For Switch Receives A Tasty Black Friday Discount (Europe)
Possibly a weird question but is this a nice controller for other games than N64? I assume you can remap the buttons?
Re: New Switch Emulator Devs Are Jumping Through Hoops To Avoid A Nintendo Takedown
"They're taking down Nintendo Switch Emulators."
"Oh, no problem, I'll just call it a 'Nintendo Homebrew Emulator', they'll never spot that."

Re: Random: Stolen Pokémon Card Worth £30,000 Is Returned To Its Trainer
@Milk_ It's not a first edition (there is a picture of the card in the BBC article)

Re: Plans To Announce The 'Switch 2' Have Not Changed, Says Nintendo's President
@KBuckley27 Exactly this. When Furukawa mentioned an announcement he compared it to the 2015 NX announcement, not the 2016 Switch reveal.
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games
"we know that a new console will also be revealed before the end of March"
No, we only know that there will be an announcement about it. A "reveal" has not been mentioned.
Re: Random: Kit & Krysta Discuss The "Drama" Behind The Switch Reveal Trailer
@Dark_Isatari I actually did go to a rooftop BBQ once, before Switch existed I think
Re: Random: Kit & Krysta Discuss The "Drama" Behind The Switch Reveal Trailer
Eight years and I still haven't taken my Switch to a rooftop party.
Re: Random: Shigeru Miyamoto Apparently Isn't Credited In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
I assume legally speaking, Nintendo is the creator of TLOZ, not any specific individuals. They won't want to be paying out royalties to people who don't directly work on the game any more.
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Map Is Eight Times The Size Of Link's Awakening's
@Pat84 The map doesn't take up much storage. 1 tree takes the same storage as 1000 (identical) trees.
Re: Talking Point: So Then, Is This 'Switch 2' Leak Legit?
The only thing that makes me think it might be real is the bare mainboard. The rest is just 3D prints that would be easy to fake. Re: Poll: With 'Switch 2' Rumours Swirling, Will There Be A September Direct This Year?
It's 50:50. Either they will or they won't.
Re: Mailbox: Mini Consoles, Grand Festivals, Weekly Downloads - Nintendo Life Letters
Poor ARMS. ARMS 2 will be the Switch 2 system seller.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Dominates As PS5 Price Hike Kills Momentum
Sony put the price up on a 4 year old console that's essentially now deprecated? I guess they are trying to justify the price of the Pro.
Re: Soapbox: Sony's Insane PS5 Pro Price Highlights The Delicate Balance Nintendo Must Strike With 'Switch 2'
Nintendo has to be really careful with the price. PS5 Pro is not their main competition. Their competition is just general entertainment of all kinds. People won't just spend out on more of the same but with better graphics.
Re: Rumour: Multiple New Switch Bundles Are Apparently On The Way
The sports pack isn't new, it's listed on the Nintendo store (albeit sold out)
Re: Rumour: 'Industry Whispers' Fuel Speculation Of A Switch 2 Reveal This Month
I predict they'll announce the announcement of an announcement sometime before 2035.
Re: Mini Review: Toree's Panic Pack (Switch) - A Third Pop Of 99¢ Platforming Pleasure
I'll wait until it's on sale
Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Overtakes NES Lifetime Sales
My personal theory is that MK9 is already finished but they won't release it until people stop buying MK8.
Re: Mailbox: Switch's Pokémon Woes, NSO's Value, First-Person Plurals - Nintendo Life Letters
It's just good journalistic etiquette not to refer to yourself directly with "I". You are writing on behalf of the publication, not personally.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Want Quality And Performance Options For Nintendo's 'Switch 2' Games?
I always thought "quality" vs "performance" modes were just a hack to allow for better-looking marketing. "Performance" is what should be released, but "Quality" lets them claim better visuals without needing to worry about pesky things like gameplay.
Re: World Of Goo 2 Has Been Delayed To August On Switch
I'd forgotten it was coming in May so discovering it's coming in August is pretty cool.
Re: Review: Balatro (Switch) - Devilishly Compelling Cardplay, And A Clear GOTY Contender

Re: 'Switch 2' Launching This Year With 8-Inch LCD Screen, According To New Analyst Rumour
@Lord Isn't that just a tax difference? US is $400 plus sales tax, UK is £400 including 20% VAT (i.e. £320 + VAT)
Re: Review: SteamWorld Build (Switch) - A Brilliantly Realised Melding Of Sim Genres
Limited replayability, but how long does it take to play through the first time?
Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?

I think it says a lot about the strength of their brand that they've basically had the same logo for 50 years.

Until a few months ago this game was £6.29 on the Wii U eshop. And now here we are.
Re: F-ZERO 99 Turns The Classic Racer Into A 99-Player Battle Royale, On NSO Today
This looks brilliant. I've loved all the "99" games. This makes it no less likely we'll get a proper F-Zero, so it's win-win
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Has Already Topped Amazon's "Best Sellers" Chart In The US

Re: New Interview With Zelda Boss Suggests There Are No Plans For TOTK DLC
