I don't mind leaks too much, but NLife definitely shouldn't be reporting on information obtained via hacking. And really, the public demand for leaks just increases the value of people breaking their non-disclosure agreements, which doesn't help anyone.
This isn't really like the 3DS XL though - it's the same size Switch but with what would effectively be a far superior screen. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo took that route.
@ATaco From a security point of view it's actually pretty serious. All software has security vulnerabilities but most of those are harmless simply because hackers don't know how to find and exploit them. Once you have the source code you can see exactly how things work and come up with much more targeted hacks.
Ethernet in the dock sounds good. I'm strongly suspecting the Pro is going to have a lot of nice-to-have improvements without significantly upgrading the processor.
Don't hold your breath. I backed another project which got hit with a copyright dispute but kickstarter are just holding the money and doing nothing they should be doing to resolve it or refund it.
I'm not sure about declaring a golden age but I agree gaming is the cheapest it's ever been, most widely accessible, open to so many more people, with more choice then ever.
I think "Nintendo Switch as it enters the middle of its lifecycle" is a pretty significant statement. Even the Wii didn't make it to an 8 year lifecycle. If they really expect Switch to run for another 4 years then they must be planning some kind of hardware "refresh".
Not only is the Switch a handheld and a home console, it's also a tabletop console. So we can count up the Switch's 85m sales with Nintendo's other tabletop console, the Virtual Boy! Giving an amazing 85m tabletop console sales!
a) How much would the storage space effectively have cost for 30 years? b) The boxes are only valuable specifically because many people haven't kept them, so logically many people have thrown them away.
My blunt opinion is that all these games can be played on loads of mainline consoles. Please let's not have more waste electronics destined for landfill.
@hakjie11 @Mr-Fuggles777 Compare with some pictures of Lego Mario - the nose, moustache and hair are a different shape and the head overall looks a little taller to me. EDIT Plus the jaw and mouth shape are different, it's definitely a different head and hair mould, even if the body is identical.
Won't do F-Zero without new idea. Will do Mario Kart 8 DX Splatoon 2 Mario Maker 2 Link's Awakening HD Skyward Sword HD Twilight Princess HD Wind Waker HD Mario 3D all-stars Endless "New" Super Mario games Metroid: Samus Returns
@CheekyZelda Well, if the sticks don't work I'd consider them ruined already. Almost every component is available cheaply online so if you do damage something else it's probably still fixable. (Though it's also worth checking with Nintendo if they'll fix drift for free anyway)
I hope the new Switch isn't 4k. If it is it'll just be marketing speak and no games will realistically run at 4k, but instead it'll be an excuse to hike the price.

Re: Talking Point: E3 Leaks Are Inevitable, But Do You Actually Want To Know?
I don't mind leaks too much, but NLife definitely shouldn't be reporting on information obtained via hacking. And really, the public demand for leaks just increases the value of people breaking their non-disclosure agreements, which doesn't help anyone.
Re: Random: What If Nintendo Just Released A Basic Switch XL?
This isn't really like the 3DS XL though - it's the same size Switch but with what would effectively be a far superior screen. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo took that route.
Re: Rumour: Major Ubisoft Switch Exclusive Could Make An E3 Appearance
Sounds excellent, now I will just be disappointed if it turns out there's no mario & rabbids sequel announced

Re: E3 2021 Full Schedule Revealed, Fan Registration Opens Today
Is registration actually open? All I get is a page that requires sign-in
Re: Nintendo Wants To Know If You Would Fork Out $50 For A New WarioWare Game
There are basically no games that I "definitely would buy" if all I knew was the price and title.
Re: Random: Who Needs A Switch Pro When There's The Wii U Pro?
Yikes. All my Wii U discs are crying out in pain.
Re: Nintendo's E3 Direct To Air 15th June
@steizgr8 "It'll be kicking off at 9am PT (so that's 12pm Eastern / 5pm UK / 6pm CEST)."
Re: Handy E3 2021 Infographic Shows All Confirmed Exhibitors And Sponsors
The whole list is just "These are the companies ordered by who paid us the most"
Re: Handy E3 2021 Infographic Shows All Confirmed Exhibitors And Sponsors
Ha, Norton Gaming are not going to be happy with that ranking
Re: E3's Just Days Away, Yet Nintendo's Being Oddly Quiet About Its Plans
Yeah, no. E3 is still 11 days away. We know there will be Nintendo presentations. We don't need to know anything more specific for at least a week.
Re: Rumour: Switch Pro To Offer 'Surface-Style' Tabletop Flap, USB 3.0 And Ethernet Connectivity
Ethernet in the dock sounds good. I'm strongly suspecting the Pro is going to have a lot of nice-to-have improvements without significantly upgrading the processor.
Re: Super Magbot Is A 'Magnetic Platformer' Out Soon On Switch, Demo Playable Now
Looks intriguing. (Though, for a platformer without jumping there sure is a lot of "propelling oneself upwards at the push of a button" )
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 'Pro' Reveal Expected Before E3, Out This Year
"Before E3" would essentially have to be next week, because by the week after that any announcement is blurring into E3 announcements anyway.
Re: Later This Week, Nintendo Switch Is Getting An Infrared Spy Alarm
These apps are clearly going to be available at 90% discount very soon.
Re: The 'Unofficial amiibo Handbook' Kickstarter Is Hit By IP Dispute From Nintendo
Don't hold your breath. I backed another project which got hit with a copyright dispute but kickstarter are just holding the money and doing nothing they should be doing to resolve it or refund it.
Re: Random: Local Council Installs Plant Pots That Look Like Mario Warp Pipes, And Residents Aren't Happy
Looks alright to me - the main problem seems to be the plants in them look drab and dying. Pots that size need something bigger and more colourful.
Re: Soapbox: Be Happy, This Is The True Golden Age Of Gaming
I'm not sure about declaring a golden age but I agree gaming is the cheapest it's ever been, most widely accessible, open to so many more people, with more choice then ever.
Re: Nintendo Switch Production Is Struggling To Keep Up With Demand
@dimi They are already struggling to meet demand. Why would they drop the price?
Re: Nintendo President Outlines Reasons For Increased R&D Spend, Including Next-Gen Hardware

Re: Rumour: The Next Donkey Kong Is Being Developed By The Super Mario Odyssey Team
Donkey Kong Odyssey is fine by me!
Re: OLED Display Firm Mentions 'Switch Pro' During Its Q1 Investors Call
Switch is over 4 years old. Switch Pro/2 is definitely in the works, the only question is when.
Re: Thanks To Switch, Nintendo Has Now Sold Over Half A Billion Handheld Consoles

Re: Review: The Longing - Tedious By Design, And Incredibly Successful At It
It has multiple endings? Does it take 400 days for each one?
Re: Ouch! NES Collector Recalls The Time He Threw Out Packaging Worth $4,000 To 'Save Space'
Well, I can see it's upsetting but:
a) How much would the storage space effectively have cost for 30 years?
b) The boxes are only valuable specifically because many people haven't kept them, so logically many people have thrown them away.
Re: Sega Will Start Selling NFTs Based On Its IPs This Summer
It's an utter mess. Capitalism has run out of things to sell so needs to sell imaginary things (or more accurately, used electricity).
Re: Random: Head Of Xbox Phil Spencer Still Has That Nintendo Switch On His Shelf
Sometimes a shelf is just a shelf.
Re: Talking Point: Why Did Nintendo Give Up On Its 'Classic Edition' Concept So Soon?

Re: Review: New Pokémon Snap - The Best-Looking Pokémon Game Yet, And A Joyous Revival
Is it wrong if I find this much more appealing than any mainline pokemon games?
Re: How Do You Feel About Mario After His 35th Anniversary? Nintendo Apparently Wants To Know
I'm not sure I like the question. I still want more mainline Mario games, but I don't really care about a lot of the tie-in fluff featuring Mario.
Re: Random: Boy Has To Choose Between Nintendo Switch And Pizza, Chooses Pizza
NLife advertising Coke now I see...
Re: Talking Point: Wii Features We'd Love To See On Nintendo Switch
@Screen The Switch has a power button on the controller, it just happens to also be the home button.
Re: Talking Point: Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Wii U In 2021?
Pikmin 3 with wii remote, nunchuk and gamepad for the map - it's by far the best way to play.
Re: It's Official! Nintendo Announces LEGO Luigi And Pre-Orders Are Open Now
@ImagineerNik Yeah, people keep saying it's the same as Mario, but the entire head section is different.
Re: LEGO Luigi Leaked By Amazon China
@hakjie11 @Mr-Fuggles777 Compare with some pictures of Lego Mario - the nose, moustache and hair are a different shape and the head overall looks a little taller to me. EDIT Plus the jaw and mouth shape are different, it's definitely a different head and hair mould, even if the body is identical.
Re: F-Zero Isn't Dead - It's Just Sleeping, Says Nintendo Legend Takaya Imamura
Won't do F-Zero without new idea. Will do
Mario Kart 8 DX
Splatoon 2
Mario Maker 2
Link's Awakening HD
Skyward Sword HD
Twilight Princess HD
Wind Waker HD
Mario 3D all-stars
Endless "New" Super Mario games
Metroid: Samus Returns
Re: PowerA Reveals Its Pro-Grade Switch Controller, Now Available For Pre-Order
It has an audio jack? So the switch does support bluetooth audio now?
EDIT: I checked the Power A site - "wired controller mode only"
Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying
@CheekyZelda Well, if the sticks don't work I'd consider them ruined already. Almost every component is available cheaply online so if you do damage something else it's probably still fixable. (Though it's also worth checking with Nintendo if they'll fix drift for free anyway)
Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying
Joy con sticks are easy enough to replace yourself, as is the Switch back cover.
Re: Exclusive: Velan Studios Reveals Knockout City’s Switch Frame Rate And Resolution
Why is internet speed linked to graphical performance? That seems wrong.
Re: No Joke, PlatinumGames Is Releasing Sol Cresta On The Nintendo Switch
So weird. If it's a joke, then I don't get it, if it's real then why announce it on 1st April and make everyone think it's a joke.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Rated In Australia (Again) Ahead Of Expansion Pass Release
@Giancarlothomaz Switch / Switch Lite / Switch Pro?
Re: Site News: After Our Best Year Yet, Things Are Changing Here At Nintendo Life
Tonight we're gonna party like it's 2017!
Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March
@TryToBeHopeful Oh yeah, that's annoying - Nintendo are the only company making their games more expensive after 2 years
Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March
This is probably the least limited limited-edition game ever
Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest
I hope the new Switch isn't 4k. If it is it'll just be marketing speak and no games will realistically run at 4k, but instead it'll be an excuse to hike the price.
Re: Talking Point: The Problem With The X Button
What we need is for everyone to agree on a standard - how about X on the right?
Re: Video: This Is What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like Running At 8K With Ray Tracing Enabled
It looks odd. The high res just takes away from the hand-drawn aesthetic which is much of what makes BOTW so beautiful.
Re: Nintendo's Offering 10% Gold Coin Rewards for Switch Online Subscriptions In Europe And Japan
Still works out more expensive than buying from CDKeys.com
Re: Nintendo Reminds Us The Super Mario Bros. 35 Service Will End On 31st March
I haven't played Mario 35 since last year. It was fun, but it's hardly a great loss. Hopefully we'll get a new NSO game soon.
