There is something so visceral about people reacting to what they might interpret as an insult on their mother tongue. Someone can attack their sports team, politics, film industries, marriage traditions, the exchange rate, long etc...but attacking your language, that very language one's parental figure teached you when you were learning to walk, that's a war statement.
Some persons are way too literal. It is just an expression, the sentence is not saying "only multiplayer content" it is way of speech to imply multiplayer is being shown as one if not the main star attractions of the trailer and the switch 2 edition itself.
Say a new trailer comes for a music game filled with rock music but also other genres, the headline could say something like "All the Rock n' Roll" or say a new Dead or Alive or Senran Kagura game gets a new trailer, the headline could read something silly like "All the curves" even if the games obviously had more than just that.
For the Switch 2 indeed...but for Switch 1 games I guess it would be a nightmare to "cleanse" the eshop. Primarily for legal reasons, if Nintendo deletes games that have been there for years, the publishers will accuse them of obstaculizing their business, if Nintendo then argue their stated right to retire any game from the storefront they see fit, the publishers will still have legal loopholes to ague like, by neglecting to retire said games for 8 years, they tacitly gave permission for it, etc, etc. At the end of the day, the bigger company would win of course, but the headache and expenses of such a legal battle are most likely not worthy...
Moreso, because the issue is rather frivolous in the great scope of things. When have we seen on the late night news the moral outrage for the Hentai or foot fetish games readily available on the eshop, like we did with Mortal Kombat on the 90s? When have we seen the reports and articles about people suing Nintendo over their kids seeing age inappropriate games, like they sued because of the joy con drift? At the end of the day, it is inconsequential. The persons most offended by all thas trash on the shop are the hardcore fanbase that find abominable how an AI game about bible stories has the same "digital shelf space" as Tales of Berseria or Mario Tennis Fever.
Well, the results prove Namco had good instincts when they decided to ignore Kosuke Fujishima original design for the localization. There are better pieces by the same artist of course, like the boxart from the Ps2 version which was reused in all subsequent re-releases, but this particular design used for the japanese gamecube releae definitely seems goofy and far too cheery.
Today, generic nonspecific anime style wins over original artist creative vision, and that is quite uncommon.
It would be remiss to ignore that you can purchase cheap chinese plastic headstrap googles for the Switch 1 (and surely also a few for Switch 2) on Amazon if you want to experience the VB games without paying for either the cardboard or andle the the back pain of the premium model.
The red flags are far too many, the animations are rough, the premise is bonkers, the release was rushed, the multiplayer seems completely shoehorned and ridiculous, the gameplay looked limited even in a few seconds of gameplay and perhaps most dampning of all, the name of the game is even more generic than the Adventures of Elliot, Millenium tales or Triangle Strategy...Tokyo Scramble seems like the name for a Shin Megamo Tensi battle theme, not the name of a game about crazy mutant dinosaurs.
When an update has a name (like this two called "the breathless" and "endgame" or say, Hollow Knight "Godmaster") I feel it is well justified to specify it is a free content pack and not paid dlc.
After all, updates are almost never named. And paid Dlc almost always comes with a requisite free update on the same day. Take Smash Ultimate for example. The paid dlc allows you to use the new characters (plus music, stages, etc), but the free updates that accompany the DLC allows you to fight against those new character in Wifi and amiibo battles.
Are you, trapped in 2017 or something? I have multiple copies of the same digital games on two Switch 1s and one Switch 2 that all share my account and I can play them with ease any time I want.
Just finished my last ending two days ago...and it was one of the bad ones. Left the game with a sour note, but I still really enjoyed the journey. Still, a massive DLC with dozens of new wndings would be far too much for me. A new single platinum route that ties the loose ends on the other hand that would be really nice.
Average as it could be. And I for one am very happy Elden Ring and say, an hypothetical port of Metaphor were no shows, the more we wait, the better chances those two might come after a bigger shift in game card practices occur and we might get them in physical releases... Indiana Jones, Bomberman and Disney Afternoon Collection all getting physical releases in the near future is a promising sight at the very least.
I should admit, the morbid part in me gets some entertainment to see how some crowd funded projects like Hex Heroes, Hatch Talles or Heart Forth, Alicia are delayed into oblivion and make their backers rage. Hatch Tales finally released, but the other two and many many more are still MIA.
I am still surprised and irritated by the selection of games that were made compatible with gameshare. Titles that already had local multiplayer on a single system had little reason to need gameshare (Maroo 3D world, Captain Toad) but the worst offender might very likely be Mario Oddyssey...the multiplayer not only makes more sense as a local singles screen experience, it is at the end of the day so basic that it makes the hassle of setting gameshare a waste of time.
IMO they should have prioritize bringing gameshare to games that require multiple switches and multiple copies of the games to enjoy multiplayer matches, like Luigis Mansion 2 and 3 (Scarescraper) or the Splatoon games.
I believe Sega is the first publisher that will release a physical game after only releasing game keys. This makes me optimistic for the upcoming Atlus releases on the system like say, an hypothetical Metaphor Re Fantazio updated edition. I hope more publishers follow the trend.
Also, hindsight is as always, 20/20. If we were in an alternate reality in which instead of MKW Switch 2 had received a 3D Mario the arguments would be just the inverse: "OMG people have been waiting for a new Mario Kart for more than a decade, WTF were they thinking, look at the sales of MK8D and compare them with Mario Odyssey, Switch 2 needed a new Mario Kart to move systems, etc etc etc"
While I would wait for better data as of now, I do know for a fact that many little kids asked Santa for a Switch 2 and they got none...parents are wary of giving little Timmy a 450-500 bucks new system, specially when they very well known the little fellas will play a few minutes and then return to the high class free entertainment with any old smartphone with YouTube and a legion of brainrots reels.
The first one is one of my wife all time favorites, and even my father and mother in law play sometimes...but I need more information about the multiplayer modes. It seems gameshare is the only way to do multiplayer, but if it is only co-op it would be a no-no. Competitive or bust.
I think he is just being polite, previously on the official Twitter/X someone asked about a potential switch 2 edition and they say the game already performs well enough on the new platform implying they are not really considering the investment in an upgrade (which was not the case of Shuten Order apparently). I have played my first 100 hours of the game evenly divided between the Oled and the Switch 2 and I can say the loading times do improve, particularly when loading a save midgame. As for the resolution and performance, sure it is lacking, but since the game is basically a visual novel for a good 90% of the playtime, no biggie.
After getting into contact with the Rune Factory franchise almost 20 years ago, I stayed in that ship...and similarly, like with Grand Bazaar, this very same year Guardians of Azuma also helped that particular spinoff series prove that they can fight with the big boys. And ironically even Natsume is shaping up with Winds of Anthos.
I hope I am wrong but I fear this move will only benefit: -Nintendo themselves, since they will be able to save money while retaining their 'true' physical hard line stance while spending less (i.e. Pokopia could be released in a smaller cart) -The very few third parties that already have shown to be willing to do physical releases (Marvelous/Xseed, Cd Projekt Red) -LRG and other niche physical distributors of digital games.
I can see the rest of the third parties staying with game key releases because they are both cheaper, installed games play faster and their big games will only go upwards in size in the upcoming years.
I recently got Hello Kitty Island Adventures for a 8 year old niece and I was sorely dissapointed the game only includes european spanish...she might be able to get trough, but it is just not the same. Perhaps in 7 years like Capcom they will update it :/.
As probably the only crazy enough person to enjoy playing Smash Bros Ultimate in VR (for short periods of time that is) I love this whole idea.
Sure, Nintendo options are of course 'Typical Nintendo' expensive, but in a few months I am sure third parties will release more than one cheap, headset mounted plastic alternative (not VB branded of course) cheaper than even the cardboard nintendo option, as there were many such gadgets released for the Switch 1 compatible with the admittedly few VR labo games.
Thank you good sire for preserving what should not be preserved.
Anyway, about the game, nah. Not interested. The gamecube one was lackluster to me and this new one is no different, the demo was very useful to see that. Is just Metroid for me till the end of the year, and perhaps a heavily discounted eshop sale.
Look at it like this, if a game releases with already announced expensive and unfair upcoming DLC it would make sense to count it as a con, even if it was as of yet just a promise of still unfullifilled bad content.
Same for me, my dock brand is even unknown to me, but the JEM update made it work again.
As I see it, the situation is completely different to the disaster that were the first third party docks on Switch 1 back in 2017-2018. There is not a single case of third party docks bricking a system, the worst it happens is they stop working and even then, in most cases a simple to use update fixes the issue in short time. Seeing some like the one I got cost less than the average double burger with fries, it is a fair trade for the increased portability and commodity. The only danger is that our little gizmo might, just might become useless in 6-12 months but for twelve bucks, I don't see much of an issue.
Same old, same old. There is always this back and forth between people that dislike DF and people that like what they do, which I understand completely. Some dont care about tech, and that is fine. I for one like their line of work, and the number of games I have decided to get for Switch 1 and 2 because of their reviews, by far surpass the number of games I have decided to skip because of their very same reviews.
What I and many others on the other hand find very irrtating is how some whiners completely ignore the nuances of what they do for the sake of their strawman arguments (both in favor or against). Even when one of their reviews state multiple positives in framerate, loading times, particle effects, etc all they see is "OMG they say is dissapointing, so they are saying it sucks!!!"
I bought a 15 dollar one cheapo third party dock two months ago, to be used as a secondary unit and avoid the hassle of disconnecting my main setup every time I take my Switch 2 house to play with my nieces. It did perfectly until I updated the console which blocked Switch 2 compatibility (still worked with Switch 1 though)...for a whole day XD. Then I downloaded a quick and easy to install updat and it is now back at working without issues. VERY pleased with my purchase as of now in terms of price and usefulness.
I think the silver lining is that not a single game are cloud games, unlike Kingdom Hearts trilogy or RE 7-9 on Switch 1, now those I would call fake games.
A Switch 2 edition seems likely then...and a premium 20 dollars at that. I fear that after the initial dozen or so launch window updates Nintendo will stop with the free upgrades and will use Switch 2 editions to pad out first party releases and boast they are releasing a new first larty experience monthly, for a couple of years or more. I sincerely hope I am proven wrong soon.
Always had the impression DQ VII was never really popular in the west because of the design, sure the supposed slowness and extreme longevity of the game made it a divisive experience for many of those who played it...but the design made many people not even bother with playing it to begin with. Even for the relatively cartoonish standards of the franchise, DQ VII has a very super deformed look to it and sits akwardly between the rest of the franchise:
DQ I and II: Funny light hearted designs in the style of DB and Dr. Slump.
DQ III, IV, V, VI, VIII: Buff dudes, angry serious faces, and very fanservice looking girls in the style of DBZ.
DQ IX, X and XI. Lean, slim, tall and handsome looking dudes and girls in the style of DB GT and Super.
Between all that, DQ VII seems like a special weird outlier, a combination of all three styles perhaps. Of course many years have passed since then. Perhaps nowadays the artstyle of DQ VII will be all the rage.
Yep, put me on the skeptic list, I always thought Capcom cared very little if anything about RE0. If anything, my bets would be that they remake 1 and add 0 as a kind of side story or DLC for the main game, kinda like making a single RE origins with an Alpha chapter and a Bravo chapter.
While I find the library of games so far lacking (my most played game in the system is the late gen Switch 1 game The Hundred Line) the machine itself is a fine piece of hardware in my eyes. After all, Nintendo released a 10 dollar "game" that is basically an endless essay about how amazing the console is.
Then for you it is a positive, and for the writer is a negative simple as that.
Say your favorite game gets a sequel...and a sequel...and a sequel...ad infinity. At some point even someone like you would see as a negative if each sequel cost the same or more and the game barely changes at all, no matter how good it is. Perhaps you reach that point at the 10th game, perhaps at the 100th game, but you will reach it sooner or later. For the writer of this review, the third game was that point.
Hyped for this, and my bet is on a distant prequel not a distant sequel. An extra anouncement for a Switch 2 update for Three Houses would be the icing on the cake, but I suppose there is still hope they annouce such a thing in a future game centric direct.
Alywas surprises me how the Dock bricking stories managed to imprint themselves so hard on the Switch userbase. Switch bricking docks were a thing in the first couple of years for the Switch, 2017 and 2018, when most companies ignored or just guessed the electrical requeriments of the system either to save money or just from plain old naivety. But the alarms, angry customers complaints, bad word of mouth and perhaps some legal issues changed the course of those accesories by 2019, and a new generation of mini docks started to proliferate, in all sizes, prices and forms. Basically from the pandemic onward all new Switch 1 third party docks were safe and useful...even if still not as good as the first party ones, as many will stop working after after a few years of intensive use, but none of them would destroy the system itself.
And now, finding the holy grail in a Switch 2 minidock, and even better, a mini dock compatible with both Switch 1 and 2 is a hot topic among many of us who used third party Switch 1 docks extensively...but still I say some caution is completely justified...after all, we are currently living the first couple of years of the Switch 2.
Even after figuring the horrible rubber banding and cheap mechanics of Cruisin Blast, that game still has a place in ny library for that four player split screen mayhem of seeing a race between a Nissan, a ufo, a hammerhead shark and a unicorn. On the other hand, this trailer shows only realistic cars and two player screen only, which instantly makes me doubt a future purchase. If I want to play a multiplayer brainless racing game with real cars I can do with the free to play Asphalt.
Well, the poll seems pretty one sided, but again, the negative vote is concentrated in a single option and the positive vote is divided between many choices in the range from the maybes to definitive yes. More negatives alternatives to split that 60% could be "Wouldn't get it even if it was free" or "They would need to pay me in advance to play that game".
Same reason they drip feed everything else, they know what is hot and what is not, and they stagger releases. Most prominent example would be Fire Emblem, the newest game Engage is already on Nintendo Music and instead the better received soundtracks, including Three Houses, are not, and perhaps will only come in a year...or two...or three.
Ha, the joke's on them, the average gamer doesn't produce offsprings.
Now in all seriousness, I think this is a genius move, I can bet if this things sell well, we will see in a couple of years a doll lineup of Nintendo Princess for the tween demographic.

Re: Resident Evil 0 Remake Rumours Make The Rounds Again
Yep, put me on the skeptic list, I always thought Capcom cared very little if anything about RE0. If anything, my bets would be that they remake 1 and add 0 as a kind of side story or DLC for the main game, kinda like making a single RE origins with an Alpha chapter and a Bravo chapter.
Re: Switch 2 Named One Of The Best 'Entertainment & Gaming' Inventions Of 2025
While I find the library of games so far lacking (my most played game in the system is the late gen Switch 1 game The Hundred Line) the machine itself is a fine piece of hardware in my eyes. After all, Nintendo released a 10 dollar "game" that is basically an endless essay about how amazing the console is.
Re: Review: Little Nightmares III (Switch 2) - A Missed Opportunity For Couch Co-op That Plays It A Little Too Safe
@PharoneTheGnome
Re: Rosalina's Storybook From Super Mario Galaxy Goes On Sale This November
I was expecting far more than that to be frank. Still not particularly interested.
Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026
Hyped for this, and my bet is on a distant prequel not a distant sequel. An extra anouncement for a Switch 2 update for Three Houses would be the icing on the cake, but I suppose there is still hope they annouce such a thing in a future game centric direct.

I can only guess that in our imperfection we cannot understand just how perfect King Dedede is, and how this all makes perfect sense for him.
Re: Review: ANTANK S3 MAX TV Dock Station For Nintendo Switch 2 - A Decent Little Travel Dock
@Not_Soos
Re: Fast & Furious: Arcade Port Cruises Onto Switch This October
Even after figuring the horrible rubber banding and cheap mechanics of Cruisin Blast, that game still has a place in ny library for that four player split screen mayhem of seeing a race between a Nissan, a ufo, a hammerhead shark and a unicorn. On the other hand, this trailer shows only realistic cars and two player screen only, which instantly makes me doubt a future purchase. If I want to play a multiplayer brainless racing game with real cars I can do with the free to play Asphalt.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
Well, the poll seems pretty one sided, but again, the negative vote is concentrated in a single option and the positive vote is divided between many choices in the range from the maybes to definitive yes. More negatives alternatives to split that 60% could be "Wouldn't get it even if it was free" or "They would need to pay me in advance to play that game".
Re: Talking Point: Where On Earth Are The Switch 2 Soundtracks On Nintendo Music?
Same reason they drip feed everything else, they know what is hot and what is not, and they stagger releases. Most prominent example would be Fire Emblem, the newest game Engage is already on Nintendo Music and instead the better received soundtracks, including Three Houses, are not, and perhaps will only come in a year...or two...or three.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Is Laser-Targeting Your Toddlers With This New 'My Mario' Line
Ha, the joke's on them, the average gamer doesn't produce offsprings.
Now in all seriousness, I think this is a genius move, I can bet if this things sell well, we will see in a couple of years a doll lineup of Nintendo Princess for the tween demographic.
