Had a PB at my local Parkrun yesterday, celebrated with a McDonald’s after for breakfast, played Street Fighter Alpha 2 on my Switch last night. What the heck lol

@AmplifyMJ Congrats! 3 was always my favourite Street Fighter Alpha game solely because I absolutely love the soundtrack. Banger after banger, had to buy the music pack for Street Fighter 6.

@Suketoudara thank you! Street Fighter Alpha 2 is my personal favourite, all I wanted for Christmas one particular year was a SEGA Saturn and my Dad got me one along with SFA2… bliss.

I almost praised them for this until I remembered lots of fighting games used to allow you to customize your own colors to essentially make custom "skins" before microtransactions came along.

I think my PB days are done to be honest. I did my last 5k pb almost a decade ago and have not got near since.

McDonalds comercials haven't been this fun since the mid 90's, then again these Street Fighter McDonalds Adds still can't compete gainst the Ronald Mcdonald land stuff, especially from the tail end of the late 80s & early 90's.

I'm a total health freak, but i do enjoy Fast food on occasion as a cheat meal. I just don't see anything unique going on with the burgers themselves, other than Guile's face being used as the a Fry Holdster, and his hair imitating the fries themselves, which is pretty clever stuff.

@Medic_alert hello, sorry for the late reply. I got that 5K PB and two Sundays ago I did a 10K race in 44:31, in atrocious weather I might add 😆 I went out for a run on Wednesday past and had a vague notion I’d go for a long one, and ended up doing my first half marathon distance, 2:03:12. I’ve no big desire to do a marathon, seems well out of reach, but you never know. When I started running 18 months ago I couldn’t imagine running 10K 😆

@AmplifyMJ awesome! If you can do sub 45 10k you can destroy that half time as well.

My best 10k is around that and my half pb is 1 hr 38. Half was my favourite distance by far.

I did one marathon and while I don't regret it, it did break me, I have never been entirely right since. I did that in 3hr 55min but have always felt I could have cut 20 mins off thay had I given myself longer than 3 months to train and get strong.

Nothing wrong with eating a bit of Mcdonalds in moderation(like once every month or two) as a cheat meal, and this is coming from a total health freak that eats healthy 95% of the time. Mcdonalds is junk food plain and simple as we kind of already knew way back when, but i guess we didn't realise just how unhealthy it all was when you really take a deep dive look at the crap they put in their products, factoring in the laundry list of nasty ingredients.

Still, their late 80's and earlier 90's Mcdonald Ronald land commercials were pure magic, including their older happy meal toys(Super Mario Bros 3, Fraggle Rock, Muppet Babies, Beatlejuice etc). Unfortunately, their chicken nuggets don't taste as good as they did in the 80's, 90's & earlier 2000's. They altered and messed with the ingredients, the fries don't hold up, including most of their burgers. My pallete is changing as I get older I guess. I still enjoy a fresh McDonalds Cheeseburger & BigMac. Although, eating their food puts me in a fast food Coma, to the point where i have to lay down curled up in a ball. lol I haden't eaten Mcdonalds in nearly a year prior, and man i felt like complete crap when i finally indulged again. Wasn't worth it at all.

I'll just stick to rewatching retro McDonald commercials via TouTube, and buying those nostalgiac late 80's/early 90's happy meal toys(etc) off eBay haha. Better off making your own Mcdonalds-like burgers with clean healthy ingredients.

@Medic_alert I would agree with the modern era, but there was a certain charm about Robocod starting on the Amiga with a Penguin bar ad. And I guess Chuppa Chups with Zool.

I guess it just feels more insidious now that big money has it's claws into gaming.
