I paid less than full price for Kirby and the Forgotten Land at launch, so I figured I'd get the DLC since it's not crazy priced. No idea why I even bothered to watch any of that video as I'm already sold on it, but it is much nicer looking than on NS1. So...there's that.
I told them I don't like game key cards not because I care personally, but the discourse surrounding them needs to die.
I also let them know specifically that there is no point in buying a third-party on NS2 if there are few/no on the cart physical releases. Don't say I never did anything for you.
Also, to echo others, we'll see if it matters but I doubt it will. Then again...why ask?
Edit: the survey allowed me to specify certain responses (i.e., fill in the blank) because I said things like "I am more likely to buy digital games on PS or Xbox than Switch/2." So answers like that will prompt it to ask for you to rationalize your preference. Which is basically most people's dislike for key-cards and yes, for you who do buy physical games, I said I dislike them.
I just beat the Elliot from Philadelphia demo, it was really good. Donkey Kong Banaza, playing the post game. And I'm also back to XCX, as well as Mario Kart World.
@Serpenterror again, they are still massive companies. I get they have been poorly managed (more SE than Sega) lately but that is not a good reason. They could order in bulk if they were serious about selling physical copies on NS2.
Great sales, thus far. In less than 1 full month it was past 5M units. That's pretty good, any way you cut it. While that Direct wasn't "amazing!!!!" it showed there is healthy support from partners and looks like a nice continuation of what NS1 started. Bring on P3R (which I hope they add the DLC to as apparently there was the "FES" content added?).
It was fine, for me. Not everything has to, or can, be a 10/10.
Also, MH Stories 3 will be my first entry into the series and I never bought P3R because I figured Sega would release it on NS2. Glad to be right about that. And the Philly game's (not Madden, but go Birds! Saquon's iconic backwards jump to start the trailer was great) demo was good. Katamari is looking as weird as ever (good weird).
And really, this was a nice bonus showcase even if Xbox's lack of a presence seemed odd.
Little wild that SE had an upgrade path for one of its existing NS1 games they showed on the Partner Showcase, but not for this. Who at SE is making these baffling decisions?
I gave it a 7 because even though many games didn't interest me, there was a lot of new content.
And the early Switch 2 has been more or less what I expected. Which was a variation of the long forgotten early PS4/X1 days, where there were not many games for the console to call its own (like those two). Still, that this was considered a "bad" Direct and it had a lot of new games says how spoiled for choice we gamers are.
Since they didn't shadow drop this, I will echo the sentiment that Sega will release Metaphor in 2026 for NS2. It would be nice if this ended, but they had similar tactics with OG Switch when they should release it closer to other platforms but apparently choose not to.
No twist. The trailer uploaded to YT clearly shows a Switch 2 logo on it and in the Direct, Nintendo said the logo (or logos) of the console it will appear on will be displayed on/before trailers.
An Xbox port, like SoT is possible. I'd say P3 Reload, maybe Persona 4's remake? Tales of Arise and Metaphor would be nice. Those all seem entirely possible.
Switch 2 updates for Switch 1 games would also be nice.
I read the first game was decent (save a few issues and yes, I played the demo that will never be fully indicative of the entire experience) and had a lot of og Armored Core devs, so here's hoping the new game is better than the first.
This is 100% a day one buy, for me. I loved the Manga when they were new, the first video game was really fun (with a great soundtrack), the movie was great and the anime adaptation was also excellent.
Donkey Kong and Mario Kart World.
I unpacked the Switch 2 camera and played MKW with my family. Tbh, wish I had done that sooner because it was incredibly fun and hilarious.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
Maybe Witchbrook. I never know what to expect with these presentations.
Re: Apex Legends Switch 2 Performance And Resolution Upgrade Detailed
I'll give it a whirl since the game is decent enough, especially for free.
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Switch 2 Trailer Showcases More New Mouthful Modes

Re: Surprise! Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Thursday 7th August 2025
So the news cycle is more or less normal. Who could've expected this after 8 years of having the same announcement pattern? Not me!
Credit to Switch Force for being right, btw.
In any case. I'm sure this will be fine.
Re: Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack Won't Offer Switch Upgrade Path Or Save Data Transfer
This is of no consequence to me because I haven't bought these games, but that is pretty annoying for those who would want to upgrade.
Re: Feature: What We Expect From Nintendo For Super Mario Bros.' 40th Anniversary
Possibly a compilation. From what I heard, Super Mario 3D All Stars wasn't planned very far in advance. I really don't expect much of anything.

Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (Switch) - A Gorgeous & Gory Return To The Series' 2D Roots
A Switch 2 patch/upgrade down the line would be nice.
Re: Rumour: Three Games Were Pulled From Nintendo's Direct Partner Showcase, According To Veteran Games Journalist
Meaningless, we'll never know if that was true.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Playable At Fan Expo Canada This Month
That's pretty cool, eh.
Also, I wouldn't put it past them to shadow drop it but they have been hyping it up for a while so I could go either way on that.
Re: Hands On: Forget The Name, Square Enix's New Action RPG Is A Lovely HD-2D Take On SNES-Era Zelda
I enjoyed it so I'll likely end up getting it but after I buy DQ HD-2D.

Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World
@Dr_Lugae it's best not to engage with that account (DonnieTaco) as they were a troll over on Polygon and got shut down by the few commenters there.
I.e., don't feed the troll.
Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Gets Proper Physical Release On Switch 2
@Serpenterror Sega and SE are massive companies, so that's no excuse for them.
Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Gets Proper Physical Release On Switch 2
How in the world kan this kompany get the game on kart while others kan't? Is it really "kan't" or is it "won't?"
Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Partner Direct Switch 2 Game In New Infographic
I'm sure the replies were totally normal to that post.
Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Party Rolls A Fine Switch 2 Debut, But Can't Move To The Top Spot
But...but...Switch 2 is failing. A random internet user told me so!
And Switch 2 is selling as well as the stock can handle. Sales have been up and down since it launched.
Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World
@WiltonRoots hey, fwiw I talked about the substance of the article.
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch 2 Games
I think it's safe to say there will be a "general" Direct before 2025 is over.
Re: Switch Is Now Within Touching Distance Of The DS' Lifetime Sales
I don't doubt it will hit DS numbers.
Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2025

I'm getting the Kirby DLC, for sure.
Re: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Gets Free Switch 2 Performance Patch
This couldn't get 30 seconds in the Partner Showcase in the west.
Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It
It was fine, for me. Not everything has to, or can, be a 10/10.

Re: Surprise! Bloober Team Is Bringing Sci-Fi Scares To Switch 2 With 'Cronos: The New Dawn'
Hadn't seen this until today and it looks great. Surprised it's launching day and date with the other versions, as well.
Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
In no way was that a 4/10. Lol
I gave it a 7 because even though many games didn't interest me, there was a lot of new content.

Re: Square Enix Is Bringing A Brand New HD-2D RPG To Switch 2 Next Year
I'm downloading it now. The HD-2D games are usually fun and this one looks to be decent.
@SplatRay001 I thought that, as well. Lol
Re: Persona 3 Reload Is Making The Jump To Switch 2 This October
Since they didn't shadow drop this, I will echo the sentiment that Sega will release Metaphor in 2026 for NS2. It would be nice if this ended, but they had similar tactics with OG Switch when they should release it closer to other platforms but apparently choose not to.

No twist. The trailer uploaded to YT clearly shows a Switch 2 logo on it and in the Direct, Nintendo said the logo (or logos) of the console it will appear on will be displayed on/before trailers.
Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Drops Two New Gameplay Videos
@elpardo1984 well, that's good to know. I may pick it up on a discount, even if minor, as I believe it's been discounted before.

For $7? Hard to say no to that...
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With A Mouse Game
Sounds like a good excuse to give this a try. My kids will probably love it, as well.
Re: UK Charts: No Prizes For Guessing Who Overtook Donkey Kong Bananza This Week
But Mario Kart World is dead. Some YouTuber told me so!
Re: Scott Pilgrim EX Brings More Beat 'Em Up Action To Switch In "Early 2026"
This is 100% a day one buy, for me. I loved the Manga when they were new, the first video game was really fun (with a great soundtrack), the movie was great and the anime adaptation was also excellent.
Re: Sony Job Listing Suggests More PS5 Games Could Get A Nintendo Release
Yeah, I echo the sentiment that this is meaningful.
Re: Sony Job Listing Suggests More PS5 Games Could Get A Nintendo Release
@progx Destiny 2 could also make it over as that was originally a PS4 game.
Re: Switch 2 Launch Helps Boost US Video Game Spending To Record June High
Well, any day now this thing will stop selling. Just you wait!
Re: Borderlands 4 Scores Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date
@IronMan30 @Entwickler *Your. Also, what in the world are you talking about? When did I say I won't play BL4? And who am I teaching what lesson?
Re: Borderlands 4 Scores Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date
@AllBLK that's my plan, I didn't pay even close to full price on BL3 because I waited (also haven't played it, yet).
Re: Borderlands 4 Scores Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date
I'm jumping ship from Xbox, so this will be likely where I buy BL4.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Bundle
Welp, this will move some (more) consoles.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (19th July)
Donkey Kong and Mario Kart World.
I unpacked the Switch 2 camera and played MKW with my family. Tbh, wish I had done that sooner because it was incredibly fun and hilarious.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update Announced For Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I guess it's best to buy this when it's $10 and CDPR has added all the DLC it wants (like they did with Witcher 3).
