I've played more Mario Kart World with my family than I did 8 and I'm glad for it. Tbh, I feel like my kids will have similar memories (when they're adults) I do about Mario Kart 64, which is really cool.

I don't know if that would have happened with DKB launching at the same time as Mario Kart World.

I already wait for sales on SE games before buying, so this will be no different.

It's a little surprising the NVIDIA CEO's comments seem so genuine. Corporate types are usually the least genuine people on the planet.

Also, of course I miss Iwata. He also seemed like a really cool guy who actually enjoyed playing video games.

Edit: and in any case, I generally agree that it is an art form but people often use that as a means of taking themselves far too seriously. I.e., it's pretentious.

I always felt classifying video games as art seems slightly pretentious, even if there is merit to the arguments proponents of referring to them as art make.

Switch 2 update, when?

Good to hear there are Switch 2 review copies. Bad to hear that the game crashes.

Maybe Mega Man Legends 3 is coming to Switch 2 and that's what Capcom has been working on this whole time.

I broke down and pre-ordered DK Bananza. Paid $55 for it with some slight wizardry. It comes out the day after my wife turns "20," so that will be a busy week!

Super Mario Odyssey surprised me with how nice it looks and Splatoon 3 also looks great.

Echoes of Wisdom is also vastly improved. Kind of makes me wish I hadn't beaten it when it came out, tbh.

I really wish more companies would start telling people upgrades were coming in advance, like this. Now I'll grab this on a sale for sure.

I picked up Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and it's bringing back a lot of memories. I loved those games in middle school when they were new.
