@JohnnyMind I agree with you on all counts, really.

I feel like this is a big reach. Don't assume it will happen because it seems unlikely and you're really setting yourself up for disappointment expecting it. And this is coming from the "MKW will receive DLC at some point" guy.

I rated it a 9 because I'm figuring first-party development cycles are longer than the previous generation (like PS4/X1 because Nintendo isn't as experienced in 4k as Sony or MS) and comparing it to those systems, the first 6 months are excellent. Don't try to compare it to PS5 and Xbox Series because those two aren't even close to as strong (software-wise) in the same time frame, especially accounting for first-party titles. Comparing it to NS1, it is arguably weaker in the same time frame but that is still somewhat subjective so that's what made me deduct a point. It is nice to play NS1 games on the system, as well.

Also helps that I didn't really expect anything crazy for the Switch 2. Just more horsepower and maybe a more premium feeling for handheld mode. It delivered both of those things. Games will (and do) take longer to develop, that's just reality for all consoles at this point.

@kal_el_07241 I came here to say a variation of that but decided against it. I don't really like the phrase in general because people use it for things that exist which obviously negates it as something that's "impossible." Unless it's sort of tongue in cheek and I'm missing that tone...

I didn't read all the options for which platform but I'm getting the NS1 and upgrading it because I have a voucher to burn.

Online play is active and surprisingly fun, so I'll download this update. Also, it is pretty packed for something that was not announced, like the last one. Goes to show you that judging a game at launch as if it will always be in that state (and case in point, this game is not the same as it was at launch) and comparing it to a feature complete game that also got updates is a bad idea. I wonder who predicted that?

Anyway, I still have a lot of P block missions to clear, as well.

I had a blast with the demo, so I think this game could sell well.

Also, it says a lot that a studio like this could put out the amazing Shovel Knight and still struggle. Tbh...it's kind of concerning.

@TheBoilerman this is my feeling as well. The hype of it was never going to be matched because of the series' history. Either way, this will be a fun game and I'm ready to play it.

Looking forward to playing this. It will be my Christmas gift to myself. Lmao

Awesome news. Not really surprising, given this developer makes impeccable games, but good to hear it's a fun experience!

That situation really was ridiculous. Hale did nothing wrong and people found out the original VA is not a great person. While that doesn't negate improving general working conditions (to include pay) for VA's and really every worker, it still impacts people's feelings about this instance.

Anyway, I finally bought the third game and will start it once I beat XCX DE. Hoping I enjoy it as much as I did the first two! Tbh, I'm hopeful I'll find that Hale did a good job at voicing Bayonetta in the game.

I'd like one for Torna because I haven't started it, yet.

DKB, I am finally starting to figure out the best way to get ore in Emerald Rush.

My plan is to get the NS1 version with the voucher and upgrade to Switch 2.

There must really be a lot to do in this game or review copies were late because this is the sole published review in the west for the NS2 version and there is only one for PC.

Even NL can't cope with Switch 2 successes.

@jco83 software-wise, you can find some deals but those are the exception.

Aspyr is kind of spotty, so I figured it would look "meh," but since I have this on Xbox I don't need to buy it for Switch 2. Here's hoping the sequels come relatively soon because I do want those.

This is a game I will get, but a little while down the line. Kirby is more of a priority because of the nature of the events.

Considering we didn't even know this existed until about April this year...I'm fine with waiting for more information on Duskbloods. Let's hope all the testing translates to a good experience in the final game!

Bayonetta 3 on sale is very tempting, but I bought the XC3 expansion pass because it's on discount and ppl raved about Future Redeemed.

There are almost no reviews for the NS2 version, so I'm looking forward to NL's.

The people want a Switch 2 version!

The first game had more on the negative end of reviews, as it landed at a 61 on MC. This is at 78 and will likely land around there because more reviewers have that nostalgia for the first game since it obviously didn't exist in 2003. In any case, the test fire was fun. I will likely get this one down the line.

I usually don't pay a lot of attention to metacritic, but it is interesting to see that this is considerably higher rated than its predecessor. This game is basically the perfect recapitulation of the Nintendo cycle.

Everyone says Nintendo wins at this show all the time, but they rarely do. Not that it really matters because there is no one "GOTY" award.

I saw them in the app before articles came out. I'm one of the cool kids.

I never beat this game on 3DS and, tbf, the asking price is not crazy but with my backlog I will wait for a steeper discount to jump.

Part of me wishes I never bought this on other platforms, but knowing it would come to Switch would have required a time machine, so oh well.

What a fun Direct and a great trailer. This movie looks like it will deliver.

I haven't noticed any issues playing on Switch 2, but that's good. I'm sure whenever I beat it, Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 upgrade that will make it look nicer and run at 60 FPS.

@Luigia I've had the same thought, but competing hardware that already exists (PS5) is getting day and date Xbox games so that doesn't fully explain it.

Perhaps there are marketing agreements in place that are preventing their announcement but I'm sure there will be a lot more Xbox on NS2 starting next year.

Also, why does the internet pretend to be surprised every time a Switch 2 game is $70? That's the standard game price nowadays.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland and DKR might be worth those asking prices since I haven't played either in ages.

If you're interested in Splatoon 3 I'd say it's worth it even though you missed the final splatfest. I find matches all the time in anarchy (ranked) mode.

I played some and it reminds me of the original, but it seemed refined. This will be a buy at some point, as I expect it will have some legs.
