I can't pretend I really noticed a difference after the update. My takeaway is Marvel Rivals takes a lot of inspiration from Overwatch...

@ElRoberico no, on Switch 2 at 60 FPS it just looks like it's on fast forward. You can really tell the difference, especially when using Miraidon. The Benny Hill music plays in my mind when I'm going around the map with Miraidon because it's almost comically smooth compared to playing it on Switch 1.

I feel like this is one of those instances where I'd notice the difference. But will it be like Pokémon Violet where I play it on 60 FPS and I have the Benny Hill music playing in my mind as I move?

Tbh, this wasn't really on my radar until Switch 2 wad an option. Yes, I own an Xbox Series X, but I rarely buy games on it anymore so I kind of didn't care about it. But I plan on buying it for Switch 2, at some point.

We could very easily just get a Nintendo Today app release date announcement, which would be the most hilarious way for them to do it. People seem to care how we get information, but don't get that the Direct isn't the only way to get it anymore.

I always tell anyone who is considering a Switch that they might as well get a Switch 2. Nintendo's biggest games will be there going forward and the new or existing games you want on Switch 1, you can play on Switch 2. The latter is also not much more expensive than a new Switch OLED or even a base Switch. Really, anyone being honest would suggest the same to someone looking for a Switch.

And like PS5 was near its launch, Switch 2 is an investment. People had less of an issue with PS5, which had fewer exclusives than Switch 2 does at the same point in its life cycle does today, so I don't really get why so many people act like Switch 2 is so egregious or not worth it.

I saw this on Nintendo Today (with zero commentary) and will 100% get this to play on Switch 2. These games are always fun late gen Nintendo console games.

Tbh, I'm fine with this as someone who's retired his NS1. This is a nice middle ground between a Switch 2 edition and using boost mode. It's basically like the update for games other than Mario Odyssey of Pokémon SV, where it's noticeable but not massive.

I'd say yes to all of this, even OoT remake because I haven't played it in ages. It would be fun to go back to it. 3D Mario is the least exciting because it's one we know is going to happen. Star Fox, that one is what I hope turns out to be true. It'd be nice to have an entry that's like 64 or Assault.

I think the best explanation, other than if that's what they wanted to show us than what else is going on that movie that might be better, is that they figured someone would spoil it before the official opening so they might as well get ahead of that. Kit from Kit and Krysta made that guess. To me, that's reasonable enough.

That reminds me, I need to beat the first game. However, Pokémon Pokopia has taken up a lot of my time. I'm just a ditto, trying to figure out what's going on in the world.

Fwiw, even as a digital buyer, I do think the option for physical is overall better.

@squiddu-real I actually agree since most of the native Switch 2 games go for $70 in the US. I don't think the split will be $70 digital and $80 physical because Yoshi was $60 on Switch 1, in line with most of the "big" first-party games.

I buy digital, so this is rewarding that decision and I'm more than okay with that.

I never did get around to playing these games. Maybe I'll rectify that...
