Decent numbers, Switch 2 has been selling software at a healthy rate, by the looks of it. And that's really where Nintendo makes its money.
I need way too many NS1 games and while Air Riders was fun, I plan on buying that some time next year along with some of the NS1 games I still haven't bought. Depending on the reviews, I will get the new Mario Tennis at launch.
@metaphysician of course Nintendo doesn't manufacture anything, but I just meant maybe now that manufacturer thinks it's worth selling smaller carts (larger is admittedly less likely). Obviously there is speculation on my part, here.
I don't own a single 3rd party game that was built for Switch 2 ( my wife won't let me buy many games) but where the heck is Tony Hawk 3+4 HD? I thought people generally liked the NS2 version.
Either way, I need to play Cyberpunk 2077. Everyone raves about it.
Cool, based on an interview he did with Bobby Lee it feels like he will basically never think the game is complete. Still, the NS2 update will be nice and I can get back into the game after pausing my farm.
Macroeconomic conditions are generally bad in the US. We'll see a rebound whenever the economy ever actually recovers.
And of course, there is the elephant in the room that NS1 and NS2 combined were about 10% below NS1 for November last year and NS2 sold less than NS1's first November. There are a few reasons for this (including bundle prices, overall price of the console, etc), but let's not ignore that Switch 2 sold less than its predecessor a year ago.
I don't want to jump to any conclusions with literally 1 month of data suggesting the numbers aren't as good as they could be but we could be looking at a 3DS situation. And of course, sales were up month over month. It's hard to say anything without hindsight because this is the first month since it launched that Switch 2 didn't sell the best in the US. NS1 was not in the lead for one month in its first year due to stock. Switch 2 is more because a competitor (who swears that they aren't competing but acts like they do) lowered the price of its console by a considerable amount of money for part of the month. We know how 3DS turned out in the long run, so...meh.
Mario Kart World winning best racer is honestly surprising given social media's general response to the game. I have been loving it but it's proven to be a little too off the beaten path for some.
Anyway, DKB winning best family is cool but it deserved a nom for something music-related because the soundtrack is incredible for that game. Also, can we just talk about HD rumble 2? Mario Kart World and DKB both use it to great effect but people kind of take it for granted.
@TerribleTerabytes oh, I didn't mean to make excuses for it, just saying people shouldn't expect a ton of effort from Bugthesda even if I generally enjoy their games.
I haven't played Skyrim in ages and I don't really want to re-buy it on Xbox (you can't play the OG 360 version on XSX, which is really stupid) so I think this could be worth it.
This bodes well for NS2 upgrades from MS, as well...
No need to speculate if this means we're getting another Yoshi game as we already know about the next one... Plus, Yoshi has been getting at least one entry per gen for a while.
There is something slightly off-putting about the second negative point. I say that because while I acknowledge some people may find that bothersome, did the reviewer? If not, then how is that a negative? If so...then why not just say that?
Being "objective" is good, but people really need to come to grips with the subjective nature of a review, even if it bothers them.
I have yet to experience this online, but the difference is pretty stark.
@USWITCH64 I've had a great time with it. I play the game with my kids and they love it. We troll each other when someone is playing free roam and they have trouble completing a challenge (well, the first time and obviously not too hard when I do it to them, they are kids after all). I feel like a fair number of people do appreciate it, they're just not loud about it.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE, I've made it to the epilogue. The "ending" was great and satisfying (I finally beat this game and I started the OG at launch but lost my save file so that one hit different), but I'm interested to see how the epilogue plays out.
I feel like this is a big reach. Don't assume it will happen because it seems unlikely and you're really setting yourself up for disappointment expecting it. And this is coming from the "MKW will receive DLC at some point" guy.
I rated it a 9 because I'm figuring first-party development cycles are longer than the previous generation (like PS4/X1 because Nintendo isn't as experienced in 4k as Sony or MS) and comparing it to those systems, the first 6 months are excellent. Don't try to compare it to PS5 and Xbox Series because those two aren't even close to as strong (software-wise) in the same time frame, especially accounting for first-party titles. Comparing it to NS1, it is arguably weaker in the same time frame but that is still somewhat subjective so that's what made me deduct a point. It is nice to play NS1 games on the system, as well.
Also helps that I didn't really expect anything crazy for the Switch 2. Just more horsepower and maybe a more premium feeling for handheld mode. It delivered both of those things. Games will (and do) take longer to develop, that's just reality for all consoles at this point.
@kal_el_07241 I came here to say a variation of that but decided against it. I don't really like the phrase in general because people use it for things that exist which obviously negates it as something that's "impossible." Unless it's sort of tongue in cheek and I'm missing that tone...
Online play is active and surprisingly fun, so I'll download this update. Also, it is pretty packed for something that was not announced, like the last one. Goes to show you that judging a game at launch as if it will always be in that state (and case in point, this game is not the same as it was at launch) and comparing it to a feature complete game that also got updates is a bad idea. I wonder who predicted that?
Anyway, I still have a lot of P block missions to clear, as well.
@TheBoilerman this is my feeling as well. The hype of it was never going to be matched because of the series' history. Either way, this will be a fun game and I'm ready to play it.
That situation really was ridiculous. Hale did nothing wrong and people found out the original VA is not a great person. While that doesn't negate improving general working conditions (to include pay) for VA's and really every worker, it still impacts people's feelings about this instance.
Anyway, I finally bought the third game and will start it once I beat XCX DE. Hoping I enjoy it as much as I did the first two! Tbh, I'm hopeful I'll find that Hale did a good job at voicing Bayonetta in the game.

I will refrain from feeling anything until this is officially announced, but what an interesting lead up...

Condolences to his family.

Re: Square Enix's HD-2D Series 'Octopath Traveler' Hits Another Sales Milestone
Those are decent numbers for the series, I'm sure SE is happy with them because they aren't huge budget games.
Having said that, a Switch 2 update for the first two games would be splendiferous.
Re: Switch 2's Mario Kart World Bundle Has Apparently Reached The End Of Its Lifecycle
GameStop confirmed it via social media. Nintendo already told us this would happen, anyway.
But yes, I bought two of these bundles. One for me and the other for my wife.
Re: Reminder: It's Time To Rate Your Switch 1 & 2 Games Of The Year
Donkey Kong Bananza is my current NS2 GOTY, even though I had a fun time with Legends ZA, it's not a more enjoyable experience than DKB for me.
MKW won't win GOTY because it's a racing game but I love it. For Switch 1, it's gotta be XCX:DE. What an upgrade from the already awesome original.
Re: Nintendo Has A Game-Key Card Alternative In The Works With Smaller Switch 2 Carts

Re: "A Really Good Experience" - Digital Foundry Dives Into Switch 2's Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo
Idc if it's 30 FPS, that demo was incredible handheld and docked.
Re: Nintendo Has A Game-Key Card Alternative In The Works With Smaller Switch 2 Carts
Tbh, GKC seem like a temporary solution until Nintendo can work out bigger (or smaller, as was the case until now) cartridge sizes.
Re: Rumour: Bethesda's Newest IP Is Still Reportedly On Course For Switch 2
I had a good time with Starfield. Not enough to double dip, I rarely do that anymore, but I'd recommend it.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 And Mario Kart World Continue To Obliterate The Competition
Well, seems like Japanese gamers can't get enough of Switch 2. I was told everyone was done with the console!

Re: Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter Continues Estelle's Journey In Fall 2026

Already downloaded. I'll give it a shot probably this weekend when I have time, but footage of this port is promising.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Expansion Coming 2026, Hollow Knight: Switch 2 Edition Also Announced
I don't think I got the "best" ending for the original, so a Switch 2 update may be enough for me to replay it.
Re: Divinity: Original Sin 2 Gets Surprise Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, And It's Out Now
Perhaps BG3 on Switch 2 is possible, then
Re: Multiple Switch Games Have Received Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes
My library has been fine, thus far, but I also only have about 80 games on NS2.
Re: Review: Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (Switch 2) - A Hard Pass For A Great Game
So with patches this could become about an 8?
Either way, this type of game isn't really my thing. Maybe we get a different Warhammer game it won't be a bad port.
Re: Xbox Is Bringing Another Game To Switch 2 In 2026
@Bigmanfan that's good to hear, because it won an award so it must be worth experiencing.

Welp, time to prioritize Mega Man Legacy Collection.
Re: 'Orbitals' Brings Awesome-Looking Asymmetrical Co-Op Anime Antics To Switch 2 Next Year
Game share makes co-op a little more palatable, so I'll be on the lookout for this one as the visuals are great.
It's very weird this is apparently only mentioned on Nintendo related sites as something announced at TGA's.
Re: Surprise! Capcom Is Bringing Pragmata To Switch 2, Demo Out Today
Switch 2 is getting pretty solid 3rd party support, which explains why the internet is so mad about the console.
Re: Xbox Is Bringing Another Game To Switch 2 In 2026
This got decent reviews, but people were not necessarily a fan of the combat...which kinda sucks.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2 GameCube Library With Wario's 3D Outing
I didn't play this when it was new but if I do upgrade my NSO sub, this will be the first game I play on it.

Re: Video: Skyrim Still Isn't 60fps On Switch 2, But Here's How It Fares Against Switch 1
This wasn't 60 FPS on PS4 Pro...what makes anyone think this would have been 60 on NS2?

Re: PSA: If You Want To Use Your Google Pixel As A Webcam On Switch 2, Try It Out Now
Funny, I was just thinking about how little gaming outlets seem to talk about Game chat. It's a really good feature of NS2!

Re: "It's Make-Or-Break For Sure" - Shovel Knight Dev's Fate Rests On Upcoming Zelda-Like
