Switch 2 port, when?

Gnarly, dude! The Sonic racing games have been generally fun, so I'm looking forward to the NS2 version, whenever that happens...

@WiltonRoots yep, it's been interesting seeing the NS2 launch is actually more similar to the first one than people remember.

I'd consider it since it was apparently decent and better than XV, which was pretty good but dragged a bit.

With how good Donkey Kong Bananza looks...meh?

Also, they could be very wrong. We don't know the team makeup for Mario Odyssey and Nintendo has been expanding. Plus, they leverage a lot of their studios to work on multiple games at at time so this is pure speculation. And I say again, even if they turn out to be right...meh.

Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime Remastered and Splatoon 3 on NS2.

For Xbox, I played some Quake and maybe a bit of Deathloop.

I could see Switch 2 getting a port, tbh. Never picked it up on Xbox so I'd get it there.

I used it last night and it was really good. Played online with a buddy in Mario Kart. My only mistake was not creating a room with more of my friends! Lol

I hope this works well on NS2 because I really want this game!

There were parts of that Direct I missed and I'm not watching more, but what I saw looked amazing. This game will be special.

This one looks like a winner. It really felt like Nintendo was holding back some information and I'm almost 100% certain the Odyssey team made this.

I do, but they are minor enough to be not so noticeable. They are actually not at all visible with the screen protector I bought though.

I knew about this before NL posted it thanks to the Nintendo Today app. I'm very okay with that because it came with zero commentary.

Also, I think this just gets this out of the way for a general Direct. It doesn't rule one out relatively soon, at all.

That just means people are actually playing their Switch 2.

My wife's reaction to the Switch 2 (like the original) is pretty much my own gauge for how normies feel about it and she was really excited. Not saying it's a guarantee to continue selling, but unlike Wii, people still play their OG Switch. That likely indicates many of them will upgrade at some point.

And of course, long term software support is paramount. By the looks of it, NS2 is shaping up to have a solid year 1, if nothing else.

I guess the more things change, the more things stay the same.

Nintendo calling it an "interconnected map" is probably more accurate than "open world" because it really isn't the latter in the traditional sense of the word. I feel like with the expectation of an open world, it's still great, but with an interconnected world mindset, the setup makes a lot more sense.

In any case, it's gotten great reviews and I'm having a ton of fun with it as I figured I would. My kids and I have played a good amount of the game and we've been enjoying the chaos.

Bloodstained feels much smoother on NS2 than the original.

Great sales figures and not 100% expected even though there were two very long lines at the launch I attended and reports of Best Buy had that all over the U.S. I've been enjoying my time with the system as it's been a great way to play a lot of my Switch 1 games and of course there is the excellent Mario Kart World. Of course, the usual suspects are trying to downplay this figure but take their words with a grain of salt.

And to the ppl saying "it only had 1 launch title!" Did you have this energy for PS5 and XS? Because those consoles had virtually nothing exclusive at launch ("virtually" is doing heavy lifting there because PS5 had one and it was a remaster, while XSS technically had zero). If not, save it because we know you're not coming from a place of good faith when you criticize NS2's launch lineup.

If you wanted to pay an absurd price at launch, then sure, get an OLED!

In any case, the NS2 screen is really good and I'm coming from a SWOLED.

I usually buy digital and I still plan on it as fighting games like SF are usually fun and practices like the key card are unfortunately common on the other 2 major consoles.

It's cool they are updating the visuals for NS2. Here's hoping the frame rate on SR holds up because it's been really good, as of NS2's launch.

Also, Urchin Underpass returning is a massive W.

It's been an absolute blast. Value will always be subjective, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. While I'd never spend $80 at once on a video game, this was worth more than the $50 I paid. For me, that was an absolute steal for how much enjoyment I will derive overall from it.

Mario Kart World and XCX DE (both on NS2). But I'm seeing tons of people on my friend list playing Fantasy Life I and it makes me want to get it. Lol

This game is excellent. I've been having a ton of fun just driving around.

@Emacster local retailers (Walmart, GS, Target, and Best Buy) near me didn't have any stock that I can tell but that is to be expected a day or so after launch. I was able to get a bundle relatively painlessly at Target, yesterday, though.

I'll get this on sale because Capcom games tend to get decent discounts

There was decent stock at Target because they decided not to deliver pre-orders that they forced you to order for shipping (vice pick up, which Best Buy allowed). So, on day one I got the bundle for my wife there (though I regret rewarding their crappy behavior on multiple fronts). In any case, I got one and saw a few people walking in at 8 am while there were still some more left. Seems like they are out of stock now, but that people could get one later yesterday says a lot. And the lines at my local Best Buy for the midnight launch (everyone seemed really hyped about it in their little circles) were staggering so that really shows they were prepared for a strong launch.

Yep, picking up this version of the game. I really can't hype up Switch 2 enough.

I played Violet and won't lie, it's a stark difference from NS1. Videos really don't do it justice, imo.

@abbyhitter, I tried it out and noticed right away that it is just much smoother. Idk about 60, but I felt like there was a difference. It is just overall a better way to play. NS2 is really awesome for backwards compatibility for me, so far.

More third-parties need to do this, if possible. But taking the Sega approach is clearly the wrong one.

I've been loving it, so far. Just need to pick up a pro controller and a camera, then I'm set. Also, I played Echoes of Wisdom and it is MUCH smoother. Even XCX DE looked better with no apparent updates.

And that isn't even mentioning the console itself. It feels very premium in comparison to the OG Switch. This is like the jump from 3DS XL to New 3DS XL on steroids. It really makes playing this already awesome concept feel fully realized. I'm 100% happy with Switch 2.

Edit: I did Game chat today with one of my friends Idk irl and man, it is nearly flawless. There was no background noise for the person calling me and I'm sure vice versa. Honestly, the only reason I wouldn't say it was perfect probably had nothing to do with the software because I had my TV volume relatively low since they called me early in the day (don't want to wake the wife and my younger kids up).

Also, the pro controller is also really nice feeling, the buttons are premium and control sticks feel better to the touch than the Switch one, as with the controller itself. This console is a wonderful iteration on the original. If you are on the fence and can swing the bundle, get it. This console is really special.

I was impressed with it, tbh. Not very flimsy, at all.

Best Buy had massive lines for pre-orders and people buying without one. It was only fun because I was with my family, though. Most people didn't really chat with us outside of our group, contrary to the only other console launch I waited for, Wii.
