@EarthboundBenjy The argument one can make against this is, again for testing purposes, Nintendo can keep all of the N64 games together on the development side which would explain the mix of mature and other rated games. The Mature ones only need to be released in a separate app on the consumer side because of the ratings. The apps are essentially the same otherwise.
This is such a Sakurai move, adding the copy abilities for every other character, which means hats and animations for every character. That's the kind of dedication and level of detail is what I love about Sakurai
Logistically it makes sense but I switched B to jump shortly after starting and have stuck with it. This way it makes it much more comfortable to hold jump and punch while in the air
It's always hard to say whether these are official or not. If it is, Nintendo sure is taking their time making an official announcement. Maybe it gets mentioned in a September Direct?
I finished the demo last night but had to boot it up again after hearing about mouse mode. It's a very cute little secret and I love Yacht Club for including little touches like that. (I won't say what it does so folks can discover it for themselves)
Very strange they just had it in the sizzle reel at the end. This is a great enough addition that it could have been a "one more thing" instead and I'd have been just as excited
I love the throwback ad style. The set itself is pretty neat with all the little features, and the price seems pretty reasonable.
I haven't been into LEGO for a while, so I'll probably pass on this set, but it's still really neat to see the continued creativity with these kind of builds!
@Medic_alert As someone who has played through the whole game, I don't feel that is entirely true. Early levels, yeah it's easy to just dig right to the bananas or fossils, but later areas require you put more thought into how you're getting to those goodies.
I haven't gone quite as crazy as some have with clearing out a whole area, but it is very fun to just mindlessly smash through the terrain and find a bunch of gold and other secrets along the way.
Thankfully I don't suffer from motion sickness of any sort, but the camera flailing wildly now and then makes for a somewhat jarring experience now and then.
Makes sense they're phasing these out since they can't be used on Switch 2 games anyway. I did make some good use of these vouchers back in the day, so it is still sad to see them go.
"In a room where Susie destroys houses, she no longer stops moving erroneously after the battle. However, she now slides around erroneously. Apparently, this is better."
I used to try and collect every amiibo, but that quickly became too much for me to afford, so I cut down to only buying amiibo for games/characters I care about. With the price hikes, I'm having to really pick and choose which amiibo I get. Street Fighter doesn't do anything for me, so I'm skipping these, but I'm also skipping the TotK amiibo (except for Mineru, she's my favorite of the sages)
Sounds like the executives wanted more cash. What a disappointment. I hope all those affected by the layoffs are given sufficient severance pay and can find better work elsewhere
I bought the game on release and it really is a neat little tech demo with a lot of cool information. The mini games are fine, but even after finishing it, I still believe it should have been free.
There were so many little moments reading through the information boards where I was like "Wow, I wish I didn't have to spend $10 to learn about this."
I haven't applied a screen protector but I rarely use my system in handheld mode and even less do I leave the house with it. No scratches so far, but I will look into a screen protector if my situation changes and I end up going out with it more often, or want to bring it with me on a trip.
I think some people aren't realizing this line specifically mentions the ranked modes where it's most important to have game operation match between different platforms.
They didn't mention Turf War, so that seems to be unaffected. In ranked modes, you're too busy being sweaty to pay attention to background details in that mode anyway. It's fine.
I downloaded the update and logged in last night just to check it out briefly and even just seeing how smooth the Anarchy Splatcast was, I was blown away
I'd have to find a REALLY good sale on a Game-Key Card to consider buying one. I don't mind digital so I see it as an extra step to keep the game cards around when they're already taking up space on my SD card.
That being said, I understand the desire for full-physical games from an ownership perspective and for preservation.
So many times when I'm reading through the insights the game offers and seeing the little details I couldn't just help to think "Wow, I wish I didn't have to pay $10 to find out about this"
Probably worth mentioning that the split-screen free roam in the way you describe it isn't really the same as the full on free roam, since also as you mentioned, you can't do P-Switch challenges, and it's essentially more of a waiting room than anything.
It's a HUGE missed opportunity for them to pack it in with the system, but they've go suckers like me who will spend the money for it, so I guess they win.
Didn't watch the full overview video yet but I already decided to pick it up. I figured it's cheap enough and would make for a relaxing thing to play when I'm taking short breaks from Mario Kart.
Still no word on Rocket League getting fixed for Switch 2. I wonder if that one will end up getting a Switch 2 version like Fortnite since it's also by Epic.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6
I wonder if this means we'll be less likely to see more Sony games coming out for NS2.
Re: Pokémon Legends Z-A's Latest Mega Evolution Looks Particularly Snazzy
Not a huge transformation but one that keeps true to it's nature and design. I like it!
Re: Nintendo Alarmo Is Getting A Kirby-Themed Update
Glad to see them continuing to support Alarmo with more alarms. I've been very happy with mine and use it daily.
Re: In Kirby Air Riders, The Pink Puffball Isn't The Only One Who Can Use Copy Abilities
This is such a Sakurai move, adding the copy abilities for every other character, which means hats and animations for every character. That's the kind of dedication and level of detail is what I love about Sakurai
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Dig Button Placement Is All Thanks To Miyamoto

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
Even without my familiarity with the original game, Sakurai presentations are always a treat, and now I'm definitely going to pick up Air Riders
Re: Could This Mysterious Super Mario 40th Anniversary X Account Be Legit?

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
The demo was fun enough to change my mind. I might not play it a ton, but for $20 it's a good enough time for some short bursts of playtime.
Re: Mina The Hollower On Switch 2 Supports 120fps
I finished the demo last night but had to boot it up again after hearing about mouse mode. It's a very cute little secret and I love Yacht Club for including little touches like that. (I won't say what it does so folks can discover it for themselves)

Re: Pilotwings SNES, N64 And 3DS Albums Soar Onto 'Nintendo Music' In New Update
Very glad to see them do more multi-game additions. I hope they continue this trend
Re: Plants Vs Zombies: Replanted Coming To Switch 1 & 2 This October
Dunno how co-op would work in a game like this, but I'm more curious about the controls.
Like, are there touch controls for both versions? Mouse controls for Switch 2?
Re: Random: Donkey Kong Bananza Players Are Already Skipping Layers And Transformations
I so need to see some of these speedrun strats. This is gonna be a hype game at the next GDQ I bet.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza
I already had a feeling it was gonna be great, and these review scores only solidified it.
Tomorrow, I'm so ready to dive in and get smashing!
Re: Another Mario Kart Album Races Onto Nintendo Music, Here's Every Song Included
MK64 is nice but we desperately need the Mario Kart World OST
Re: Nintendo Will Discontinue Switch Game Vouchers Entirely In 2026

Re: Deltarune Updates Chapter 2, 3 And 4 In New Switch 2 Patch (Version 1.02)
"In a room where Susie destroys houses, she no longer stops moving erroneously after the battle. However, she now slides around erroneously. Apparently, this is better."
Definitely better
Re: "It Will Have A Chilling Effect On Game Design" - EU Group Responds To 'Stop Killing Games'
If this initiative makes live-service games "prohibitively expensive" to make, then GOOD.
I am so sick of live service games. Way too many right now and they all strive to suck up all of your time and money
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Adds Another Legendary Zelda Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included
I want Majora's Mask dang it!

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Gets Smashing New Commercial
Not their most creative of commercials but I'm hype for the game either way.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Receives Its First Update (Version 1.0.1)

Re: Drag X Drive Switch 2 eShop Price Revealed
That's not a bad price, but I still don't feel like it's my kind of game, or will be worth it for me even at $20.
Re: Nintendo Confirms The Release Date For Drag X Drive On Switch 2
I just can't get excited for this game.
Gimmicky control scheme, yet a lack of personality and charm I expect from Nintendo titles.
It's gonna be a pass from me on this one.
Re: Poll: So, Have You Used Zelda Notes Yet?
I really have only used it for the Voice Memories so far, but that alone is neat enough for me to want to keep using it.
Re: Nintendo's Music App Is Back On Track With A New Album Update
The Four-in-a-Row song sounds like something right out of Spongebob lol
A pretty chill soundtrack overall, but I'd much rather have the Mario Kart World OST
Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?

Re: Poll: Switch 2 Battery Reportedly Lasting Under Two Hours With Mario Kart - How Is Yours Holding Up?
Can't say I've played Handheld mode enough to test but I have that battery setting on so it won't charge past 90%

No.
Am I getting one?
Yes.

I know I'm part of the problem....

Re: Fantasy Life i Gets Switch 2 Release Date With Paid Upgrade Path For Switch 1 Players
This might be a game I pick up on a sale later down the line. Glad the Switch 2 upgrade is cheap.
Re: My Nintendo Store Reveals Pokémon Legends: Z-A Pre-Order Bonus & Bundles (UK)
I hope the US gets these too but I feel like we tend to get shafted when it comes to special merch like this.
Re: Poll: With One Week To Go, What Are Your Switch 2 Launch-Day Plans?
I gotta work that day, but as soon as I'm off and can enjoy my system, I'm gonna be going live and streaming my whole experience
