I originally missed out on the GBA game. I played some of the other Mario Vs. Donkey Kong games that focused more on the minis, but knowing this is essentially a sequel title to the Game Boy Donkey Kong game, I'm interested.
May wait for a sale or deal of some sort though, $50 is pretty steep.
I wonder what issues they fixed. I played through both and they felt pretty solid to me. Then again, strange bugs/glitches under very specific circumstances are always a possibility.
Those look like buttons, not pins, and even if they are, the image doesn't really show their quality. Initial impressions make me feel they're likely cheap.
Normally I'm way into collecting pins, but I don't think I'll be sad if I missed out on these.
The Direct was pretty heavy in remakes/remasters, which I don't see as a bad thing. It likely means they're putting their efforts into other new stuff down the line, so potentially new software for whatever the new hardware is. My guess is we'll start hearing some official news about what's next for Nintendo hardware sometime next year.
In the meantime, I'm gonna enjoy reliving some of my favorite games made again on the Switch. I'm so hype for both Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario!
It's a bummer that they updated the graphics and ended up having to cut the framerate in half. I imagine this game would be absolutely beautiful if they could get it running at a solid 60 like the original with the updated graphics.
But I guess as long as they keep it at a stable 30, it'll be fine.
Definitely not the F-Zero game many were wanting (myself included), but it still looks to be an interesting game that I'll check out. I just hope it sticks around and doesn't get dropped like some of the other free NSO games
Typically when you're getting more remakes than new games on a console, it means its getting towards the end of the life cycle for that system. Makes sense, easier to remake old stuff and put it on Switch and focus your efforts for new software on the new platform coming later.
I'm still gonna enjoy these remakes while I wait for whatever next system Nintendo has in waiting
I'm still working my way through the DLC (got distracted trying to shiny hunt for a Vulpix) and overall I'm enjoying it but the continued framerate issues make it hard to recommend to anyone else.
To further clarify, I don't mind about the model issues or pop-in. What really makes the DLC a slog (literally) are the constant framerate issues. Just moving around the open grassy fields is enough to make the game chug to a snails pace.
I've spent about 10 minutes in the first area of the DLC and the frame drops and slowdowns make it still absolute trash to play. I don't blame anyone who is insistent on not buying the DLC because of the performance.
I had some hopes that they would make SOME effort to make the new areas perform better, but I should have known better than to trust GF to do a good job.
I've had it pre-ordered for a good while. Despite the godawful performance of the games, I've still had a mostly enjoyable time shiny hunting in the post-game.
A sticker set has to be the absolute laziest and cheapest pre-order bonus to offer. I recall posters being a standard pre-order bonus for quite a while.
Then again, I get most of my games digitally anyway, so I rarely get or care about physical pre-order bonuses anymore
Just tossing Japanese games onto the North American NSO libraries makes me feel that if we ever get Mother 3 officially here, it's gonna be them just slapping it onto the GBA NSO games as-is, no localization at all.
Can we talk about how lazy that trailer is? They just took walk animations for the Pokémon and superimposed them over low-quality images of real-life settings. I know Pokémon is getting lazy with their games but it's funny to see them be lazy with their advertisements too. (before you correct me, yes I'm aware the trailer is moreso from Niantic than TPCI)
I wonder if this single-game focused Direct means we won't be getting a General Direct next month. Also curious as to why they feel the need for a whole direct for this game. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the game already and felt the initial trailer was enough to get me into it. I had expected a new trailer for it with a general Direct, but not an entire Direct just for Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
I pre-ordered the game and DLC right before release. After hearing so much praise for the game, I had a good feeling I'd enjoy it, and now I've got the music from the first level stuck in my head since. Absolutely worth every penny
Thank Goodness You're Here looks pretty interesting, and Little Nightmares 3 looks awesome! I never played the first two but I've heard nothing but good things about them.
@Ogbert The base game area of Paldea is based on Spain, but considering The Teal Mask portion of the DLC is a Japan-inspired area, it makes sense in that regard.
I was a little worried at first thinking it might have been an announcement that he had passed. While I'm relieved to hear he's ok, this is definitely the end of an era.
It will be interesting to see who else takes the reign for so many of his iconic voices
Heard a lot about this game prior to the Switch release. Decided to pre-order it last night. Played one game this morning and I immediately get the appeal. I know I'm gonna be sinking plenty of time into this game
@RupeeClock I wish I had realized this before just yesterday. I was wondering why it wasn't giving me my bonus for hitting my bedtime and why the alarm wasn't going off at the right time. Glad to hear they're aware of the issue at least
They'll say this but watch the next games be just as awful in performance and visuals.
They don't care as long as they're making that money, and nostalgic fans will continue to buy them and perpetuate the problem (and I'm one of the poor saps that is part of the problem).
Yet another underwhelming Pokémon distribution. Doesn't really seem like there's anything special about this one. At least the last Arcanine WC Pokémon we got was shiny.
Iron Crown is literally just Cobalion but metal (which is an improvement from the base design IMO). I like that they went with something different for Raging Bolt, kind of like how they did with Walking Wake. At least with Raging Bolt that mane is reminiscent of storm clouds so I think it works. People just jump to assume anything with a long neck is a giraffe and get mad for some reason.
They really could do with speeding up these presentations. They were padded with so much unnecessary time and slow pacing. They need to be more snappy and right to the point, like Nintendo Direct presentations.
I went in with tempered expectations and I'm glad I did because outside of the NSO games and the DLC, this was a pretty underwhelming presentation.
This absolutely didn't need to be 35 minutes long. They could have easily condensed it down to like 20 minutes and still got all of the information out without all the padding.

Anyone striving for a full set of the cards is gonna have a rough time tho

I feel like this is pretty standard for Pokémon games to leak ahead of their release, but digital-only DLC getting leaked? Wow, how did that happen?
Re: You Can Apparently Mute The Talking Flowers In Super Mario Bros. Wonder
I'll leave the flowers on for starting but I'm glad there's an option to turn them off if it gets too annoying.

Re: Shiver, Frye, And Big Man Duke It Out In The Latest Splatoon 3 Splatfest
While I love all three pretty equally, I think I'll be picking Team Shiver because:
1) I prefer blue between the 3 color options
2) She's a pretty likely choice to win, given results from previous Splatfests
3) Sharks are cool

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet News Teased For World Championships' Closing Ceremony
I really don't get why they would limit the news to the PWC instead of just including it in the Presents.
Either way, I can't expect whatever they're gonna announce is gonna be too exciting as long as the games are still running as poorly as they are
