I'm still not sold on this myself. It's probably neat for those looking to get into speedrunning some of these classic games, but I like to take my time

I'm definitely going to double-dip on this one. Probably get it digitally on PS5 and physically on Switch

@BANJO Their inconsistency for which titles get Maximus Cups/themes is confusing.

I've been playing F-Zero 99 pretty regularly but I only boot up Tetris 99 for these themes, when I can remember to do them lol

Leakers tend to ruin the excitement and fun that a Nintendo Direct can bring by spoiling the surprises, so I can't say I'm too bothered to hear this news.

I like going into the presentations blind. Much more fun that way.

It's disappointing to see Nintendo being so heavy-handed with these DMCA takedowns lately. I get that it's in their right, but if they aren't actively putting out games for a particular series, is it really detracting them that much profit from their other games?

If anything, taking down fan project after fan project just discourages the community and puts Nintendo in more of a bad view for said communities.

I'll probably pick this up digitally on my PS5 and physically for Switch, because this is a collection that is absolutely worth double-dipping on
(also I doubt it has cross-play so getting both versions means I can play with more friends)

While there were plenty of titles I didn't have any interest in, there were plenty of games to get me excited from start to finish and kept me into it the whole way through.

The addition of "Mature" section makes me wonder if Conker's Bad Fur Day might be sometime down the pipeline

While I'm hoping for some kind of Metroid news (even a small update on Metroid Prime 4 would be AWESOME), I don't really have much for other expectations, especially considering the current situation with the Switch's life cycle.

That being said, some kind of Star Fox game would absolutely make my dreams come true

I'm really hoping we have some news about it in this June Direct, but when it comes to anything Nintendo, I've learned not to get my hopes up.

@Anti-Matter In Nintendo Life's roundup of the hands-on first impressions, another publication clarified that the game still maintains the mission-based approach and only saves after you complete a mission, unfortunately.

I've learned to go into them with no expectations.

Hmm, the 18th is a Tuesday and Nintendo typically does their Directs on Tuesday. Definitely feels like more than just a coincidence

I remember having MM4 on GB, but not the rest. I never knew 5 had unique content until reading some comments about the games, so I'm excited to give that one a try for the first time!

I will always prefer we get the options rather than being forced to play a particular way, and I will more often choose a smoother consistent framerate over super flashy visuals.

More options in general are better, and as others have said, not just for performance, but for controls and music and difficulty.

The restriction of modifying existing Mario characters is dumb so I really hope they roll back that rule and allow more unique characters akin to the TTYD partners and such.

I'm already sitting on several unbuilt sets due to a lack of display space on my shelves. I might skip this one and buy the minifigs separately elsewhere.

I'm hesitant on this one due to the price, but I will acknowledge that it's a fair number of pieces, and it looks like there are a good number of unique printed pieces too.
Plus those minifigs are all fantastic

@batmanbud2 I'm familiar with Drift but I've been into Kitsune stuff well before he was revealed so Drift isn't my first thought.
IMO, Kimiko is a much better kitsune Fortnite skin

This is one of the lesser ugly Funko Pop figures, but the lifeless eyes always kill it.

Strange that it took this long to get the first handheld Mario game onto NSO, but as others have said, better late than never.

I do appreciate these kind of galleries in games in general, so this is a welcome addition to an already fantastic title.

I've slowly been going more digital just in terms of sheer convenience but I can still appreciate the importance of physical media, so I'm glad to hear Nintendo is continuing to support it.

I used to use this feature more, but not so much lately, mostly because I haven't been playing my Switch quite as much.

Eh, it's neat, but it really feels like Nintendo is just trying to put out whatever the can to tide people over until next year with the new system.

I so often forget about this app until I need it for something Splatoon-related. I have still to this day never used the voice chat option with it, nor will I likely ever.

Also, who is betting on any Metroid Prime 4 news in the June Direct? I'm starting to question if it will make it to a Nintendo Switch release at this point.

Feels kind of weird to get excited over an announcement of an announcement, but considering that we've been waiting so long and wading through countless rumors and leaks, it's so refreshing to get something actually confirmed from Nintendo at this point.

I actually love that artwork that they chose for those icons. Fills me with a lot of nostalgia from flipping through the instruction booklet for the game.

I love these so much, but the shipping costs for US are rough.

Also I'm still waiting for the latest update to come to consoles so I can start having some more successful runs on the harder difficulties.

I went ahead and got the icons cuz I've got more Platinum Points than I know what to do with them. Looking forward to the Tetris 99 event.
As for the game itself, I might pick it up if it goes on a good sale at some point, but it's not a priority for me at all considering my current vast library.

I'm still keeping super skeptical about any rumors, but if the backwards compatibility thing is true, that's fantastic, easily the most important feature outside of just general better performance (which we all know the Switch has been in big need of).

I'll probably just buy the minifigs alone secondhand at some point

EDIT: I just noticed the Town Hall set has an Audie minifig. I absolutely need that minifig at the very least, so I may end up getting that set

That's a real bummer that it's only at 30FPS. I always prefer a smoother gameplay experience over flashy graphics.

It's nice that the game will be available on Switch, but this is gonna make me think of waiting for a sale, especially since it doesn't sound like there is much for extras or added content.

I'm pretty sure this isn't new news, but it's still kinda disappointing and a missed opportunity on both parties part.

The art style is pretty cool. I was hoping for Pizza Tower on Switch, but I might have to check out the demo on this.

I'm hoping for the Silksong fans sake, that we finally get some news on that.
Other than that though, I'm not really sure what I'm hoping for out of this Direct. I do want that latest Balatro update to come out for consoles already

Love the character designs and personalities of each of these characters. Here's hoping future Paper Mario games can have the same level of creativity and freedom with the designs.

I remember trying SO HARD to get my first win in this game. Sounds like these updates would have made that a lot easier. That being said, I'm looking forward to the update so I can hopefully have more successful runs and hopefully make unlocking everything a bit less painful.

I love this game and will definitely pick it up for the sole reason of it being a fantastic game with some updated visuals.

I do hope they have some kind of added content or QoL changes, but I feel like they would have mentioned something like that by now.

The minifig is what makes this set anyway. I'd pay $5 for just that minifig alone

Hopefully this one is easy so I can keep the collection of these Mightiest Mark Pokémon going. Thankfully, the Pokémon communities are really good at coming together for strategies for taking these raids down.

I really don't get why they have them time-limited AND locked behind having and playing the game with some of these icons.

Just let us use our pretend money to get the digital icons. Quit making these arbitrary rules on what we have to do to get them.
