These battle animations are all so over-the-top and I love that. Shame with the huge roster of Pokémon and the wider selection of moves for each one nowadays, we probably won't ever get so much effort put into these kind of animations.

Always love it when companies share cool artwork like this. I also like having more options for the profile icons! Gives me something to put my Platinum Points towards

Bundle music drops are more what I'd like to see, even if they're smaller soundtracks like these.

Can you even call it a trailer if they didn't show any semblance of gameplay? We got a static sky shot, some corny dialogue and they spun the image.

Show me something to actually get excited about!

I don't see them changing the formula of the main-line series from traditional turn-based, so them experimenting with the Legends games sounds fitting to me, and I'm ok with it.

I'm excited to try it out. I've heard a lot of people saying the battle system looks clunky, but we won't know for sure until we try it ourselves.

I still believe Nintendo could do a system where they have the current NSO with the full library, while also offering titles for individual purchase. Doing so allows those who don't want to subscribe to get the games they still want and have those games available offline. It might get trickier when it comes to the third-party games, but at least anyone wanting the first-party classics can get them no problem

X and Y was one of my favorite generations because I could have a fox Pokémon as my starter. While I'm bummed it's not in the initial choice, much like how you could still find the Gen 5 starters in Legends Arceus, I'm sure I'll be able to find my Fennekin later in the game. Until then, I'll go with Totodile for my starter in Z-A.

Graphically and performance-wise, I'm expecting about as much as I did from Legends: Arceus, which I'm fine with.

Gameplay-wise, I'm very intrigued about the new battle system. It should be a lot more engaging than the traditional turn-based method.
I'd better get my Fennekin though!

Eight minutes? Wow, despite how much I've played that game, I'd never have guessed the whole soundtrack is so short. I guess that goes to show how memorable the songs are

I've learned to keep my expectations in check with these presentations. Usually lots of little updates for the existing mobile games, maybe some news on the shows, and then one final announcement about a proper game. As long as we get some more information about Legends: Z-A, I'll be satisfied.

I'm imagining Switch 2 games will cost more, so this makes sense. I do wonder if they're going to implement some new kind of program for Switch 2 content since they're also axing Gold Points.

While I've usually been one to opt for digital games due to convenience and little bonuses like these, doing away with them makes me feel more inclined to lean towards physical where I can.

What a disappointment. I figured the Gold Points were implemented as an incentive to purchase digitally, and now that most people opt for digital nowadays, they're gutting the system and giving us no more bonus for choosing digital.

I enjoy my Alarmo but I'm still waiting for the Animal Crossing theme.

Would be nice if they let us know what other themes to expect because right now it kind of feels like they forgot about the thing.

I don't get why Nintendo can't do Virtual Console and NSO together. Just give people the option to buy the specific games they want for those who don't have/want NSO, AND have access to all through NSO for those currently subscribed.

I do love Star Fox Assault, and while a port would be nice, I'd much rather see a new Star Fox title.

Just going off the history of Nintendo Directs alone, February is very likely in addition to the Pokémon Presents at the end of the month.

Holidays are over but Nintendo needs to drum up some excitement for their products after all.

I'll have to give it a try with the touch controls. I also hope they fix those framerate issues when zoomed out.

If my ancient PC in the early 2000's could play RTC with a smooth framerate, there's no excuse why the Switch can't either

Disappointing but not surprising :/

I picked mine up day one from Nintendo, and it's been a wonderful addition to my morning routine.

I ended up not liking the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe theme much (the hourly chime for that one is just awful), but I am still waiting for the Animal Crossing theme. I'm back to the Zelda theme for now.

"not official" means nothing in this situation. We know it's a mockup and not a real system but based on the actual thing. I still feel confident the mockups and images we've already seen are what the system will look like, aside from minor cosmetic stuff like colors

But will a standard Switch work in a Switch 2 dock? 🤔

The price will heavily factor into whether or not I buy it. I'd prefer not to spend $80+ on it. If it's replicating the Game Boy in size and whatnot, I can't image it will be a large set by any means, but these licensed builds always tend to have a higher price tag.

Obviously the PS5 will sell more if the Switch 2 doesn't even come out until like mid-year. I think anyone with half a brain could make that assumption.

Then again, this is Nintendo, so if the system comes out early enough in the year and has some strong software to support it, anything is possible.

They're gonna have to have some really cool features that HAVEN'T been leaked yet to actually make the reveal exciting, because pretty much everything else about the system is already out in the open at this point

I'm so numb to all of these images of the system. We know what it looks like, obviously. What matters most is what it does that is new or different, but of course no leaker has that information.

Brothership is a much better title so I'm glad they went with that.

The eShop is so worthless to browse. Even trying to go through what's on sale is a slog through the most obvious trash just thrown on there. I feel really bad for the indie devs or those who put actual effort into their games and trying to promote them.

I'm at a point now where I only go onto the eShop when I specifically know what I'm looking for.

An astounding soundtrack that probably should have just been on there day one, but I'll still take it.

An absolute blast from the past! Such a bizarre but incredible RPG. The special edition is a bit much for me, but I'll at least pick it up digitally so I can check out the new battle system and content.

I already got the items from the last winter event, but it's nice to see it return for those who missed it last time.

Now THIS is a substantial soundtrack worthy of a weekly drop by itself

As always, I'll boot up the game and play enough to collect the theme during the event.

Looks like they're saving more of the heavily requested games for next year. Everyone wants Diddy Kong Racing and DK64, both of which would be perfect for all the Donkey Kong hype that's been going on leading up to Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, but I don't think we're getting any more NSO games before the end of the year.

I bought it back when it was first released on Switch and it was totally worth it. Definitely a great pick at this sale price, though a physical version would still be nice.
